What books would you recommend? I'm a 13 year old girl and I currently like Harry Potter. And Dork Diaries is okay too. But I seriously need to read different things so can someone please reccomend some decent books to read :)

In terms of books, some of my personal favourites include Warriors (if you like books entailing animals- specifically, cats), TimeRiders or the Death & Co series. The last isn't actually all that well known, but I would definitely recommend checking it out- it's quite well written, and uses some interesting symbolism.

Hmm, when I was your age I loved most things by Chris Wooding. You might check out his books, they are very nicely written and tell intriguing stories. If I could recommend a specific one for you, it would be Poison by Chris Wooding. It's awesome that you're looking for books! It's not often that I meet someone who likes to read!

"A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket is a good series that I read a lot back then.

Try out the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson, Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard, and The School For Dangerous Girls by Eliot Schrefer. Those are the best YA books I can think of.

Since you like Harry Potter you'd probably like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, if you haven't already read it. The Percy Jackson and Lord of the Rings series are good too.

I am so much like you, so I have a few recommendations.
The fault in our stars (by John Green - romantic story.)
Wonder (By R.J. Palacio - heart rendering real life story (May seem slightly for younger readers but it's an amazing story and it's an easy read))
Ruby Redfort (by Lauren Child - detective spy crime story (I'm reading it ATM and it's really good. it's English but all language is like the American way so jam/jelly kinda thing.))

there's other books.... just wait I need to find the title

There are 6 books in the series; I highly suggest these books and wish I had read them sooner than I did.

Who does?

But I'd also back up Puppy's suggestion of reading Darren Shan's books. As questionable as some of the newer series may have been (not that I've read it, but... really? Odd concept...), his earlier books are fantastic. The vampires don't even sparkle!

I've seen a lot of teenage girls on this forum, raving about Twilight. I facepalm every time someone refers to that series as literature.

Brave Story by Miyuki Miyabe! The first 200 pages are pretty okay, but afterwards I never wanted the book to end. Now I feel dead inside... It's more on the fantasy side if you're into that.

The Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness is fantastic. It's pretty dark and sometimes graphic, though.

I also used to adore the Warriors series. Plus there are so many books you won't have to worry about keeping yourself busy for a long time. The Seekers series is also good.

I personally love cliche love stories or whatever they're called by Meg Cabot. My favorite is Avalon High, it also involves some history which I found cool.

The tyrlle series Amanda hocking, the Watersong series Amanda Hocking. The divergent series Veronica Roth
