i'm on a northern hemisphere island and i just want it to snow already. weathers still cold and pretty mild, but is there any way to know its coming?

Do you have your weather seed figured out on meteonook? That is one way to tell, but other than that, I'm not sure. I imagine it's gotta be coming in the next week or so, right? I'm on a Northern hemisphere island too. :)

I assume that it's connected to your weather seed, I don't have mine figured out personally but that would be a good indication of when snow will appear.

As has been mentioned, your weather seed would determine when it snows. Generally it will snow at least a couple of times in the lead-up to December 11th, which is the first day your island will be covered in snow.

Like the others have said, everything weather related is tied to your weather seed. There's over 2 billion seeds the game can choose from when you create your island. It will usually snow at least a couple of times in the first couple of weeks of December, before it's actually covering your island. Every single seed has a winter "storm" on December 10th - where it snows just about all day long, with at least a few hours of "blizzard" conditions. This is so that it makes sense when the island is covered starting December 11th. Then you can count on having a LOT of snowy days for the rest of December and January.

The easiest way is to sit with the MeteoNook app open during a meteor shower and take note of the shooting star times (just hour and minute - I never bothered with seconds because it's too precise and easy to mess up)

Cloud patterns can be hit or miss depending on when you think to check (around half past the hour it starts transitioning to the next hour's weather slowly)

The way I did it was mainly through shooting stars, but also a little bit of weather using the options. i.e. if it was raining during a particular hour, I'd include that, but I never bothered trying to differentiate between sunny and clear and the different cloudiness stuff.

What determines when it is going to snow ? If it's December 10 or not. Every year, on December 10, our island will get a snowstorm, and on the day after, the snow will cover the entire island's ground. It's hard coded that way.

Both my wife and I are in the Northern Hemisphere and we have already both had 2 days of snow flurries. Nothing sticks but it was definitely snow.
