What Did You Accomplish On Your Island Today?

It's finally over, I have cataloged all the items that I wanted to order.

I now have just the posters left, as well as the Silver and Gold HHA Trophies, but I want to earn those.

I worked on my neighborhood. I finished adding fencing. I added areas around the homes as well. I still have a bit of empty space here and there where I'll have to decide if I want to add something or not but I am worried because I'm starting to get lag. It doesn't even look that cluttered to me but I guess "moving" items cause more lag than static ones. I tried researching ways to reduce lag (hoping it had to do more with the Switch system or even data storage) but most of the advice I've seen has been boiled down to "reduce the number of moving items and custom designs you have in an area." D: I'm committed to the idea of my neighborhood so I'm just going to have to push forward no matter if the lag gets worse. I also started on drawing a path but boy does it dry out my eyes and take foreverrr. So many tiny pixels... And then having to save and go back to the overworld to see how it looks outside of the design interface. Then back to drawing... Again and again. I used up half of a bottle of eye drops in the past week alone. I want to work on my market place and shopping area next but it's so hard deciding how to plan things out. I want things to look symmetrical and spacious but not too plain. I really wish we had the indoor design system for outside as well, especially for 2 x 1 sized tables where you want one of the items you placed on top of it to face the inside. As far as I can tell, it's not possible? I am very happy with how my finished and nearly finished areas are looking though, I feel I learned a lot about designing from Pocket Camp. I also went back to the video that inspired me to get back to New Horizons in the first place, it was a singer and she has such a busy schedule yet created such a cute, thought out island. I thought to myself, if she can do it, I can do it too! What's my excuse? She was touring around the world, recording songs, filming music videos, etc.

Well long story short. I had just unlocked terraforming on my island I had just recently restarted and found out that the airport was to close to resident services and it it pissed me off so I restarted again

So today I fought the bad luck gods trying to get a good start and finally got something I could work with. So I’m going to try and speed through the tutorial and try and get some things done.

I am currently working on having an all bovine island, I invited Rodeo and Vic to Hawaii's campsite via amiibo, crafted their requested stuff and got them to move in.

The other bovines I have are Stu, Norma, Tipper, and Patty.

I just finished crafting jail bars for Angus in the campsite, I will need to craft some more things for him, then he will move in eventually.

I originally had an all rabbit-and-bovine island, but I changed my mind once I finally had enough bells to remodel the residents' exteriors and interiors, and realized that I wanted to start having cows and bulls as my permanent dream villagers instead, since remodeling costs 9,000 bells.

Wow I don’t know how you could do that. Cows and bulls are among my least favorites but I know other people love them. Glad you have a plan and good luck.

I worked a bit more on my neighborhood. Added some benches and street lights and planted some flowers. i have to wait until they're grown to see how they look where i placed them. so far i'm satisfied with how it's going. however, i really wish the room sketch app worked for outdoor stuff too like flowers, terraforming fencing so we can imagine how it'll look before committing to a build only to hate it and restarting. also, i continued to work on drawing paths. i'm not the most artistic person so i'm taking it slow and just drawing a bit at a time since it also dries out my eyes like crazy. i don't know why but it seems like other people have so many more custom design slots than i do :(. even just having a path takes up a lot of spots (4 for the corners, 4 for the inner corners, 4 for the edges and then 1 for the middle)! i'm going to try to use more of the in game paths where i can since i have a lot of ideas for custom designs. would love to have 2 sets of custom paths but it's just not a priority anymore given how many slots they take up and how long they take to draw. also, i read that custom paths cause more lag than in game ones? that does seem to be the case for my island, but i can't say for sure since the areas with the default paths aren't finished and thus have less items. i am quite concerned about the lag so it has affected my choices for decorating. i was watching an island tour on yt and the person said they've learned to just live with the lag... i guess it's the price of having a densely decorated island. i'm not going to give up on my vision of what i want but i'm being mindful of like purposefully overcrowding an area. someone recommended having areas that are more sparse and that'll help your system with the lag.

Kind of a frustrating day. I added some tables and chairs and other decor around my neighborhood and I felt good about how it was going so I started on also working on a river but the water scaping is so annoying!! when you accidentally undo the square you JUST made into water, it makes me want to pull out my hair lol. Also when you want a rounded edge, because you have to do the action twice. The struggle. I'm wondering how long the river should be and if it should connect to the other river mouth but I don't think that's feasible given the distance and the stuff in between. It would be cool if they did connect though so I'll keep tinkering around. Didn't work on drawing my paths at all since my eyes are really dried out and the air is just really dry in general. I tried making a restaurant and after hours of work, laying down pathing, planting trees and flowers, I tore it all down and gave up because it looked too fake. I tried several versions in the room sketch app but I just didn't like anything and kept clearing and restarting. I wish they let us use the buildings from HHP on our island (restaurant, school, hospital, etc.). Like the models are already in the game! Please let us use them, Nintendo... D: I really hope they listen to the og fans and hardcore fans for the next game. Also in my game it was one of my villagers birthdays but I was too concentrated on building the restaurant that it got too late and by the time I realized I had missed it, it was too late. I may TT back tomorrow so i can give them a present. I'm glad I was able to at least make some headway on the neighborhood and river today.

Came back to the game after a 8 month hiatus. Just life craziness (new baby etc). Hoping though to get to accomplish what I wanted to originally though and play more regularly again.

Main town; I'd like to honestly redo my outdoor to be more decorated with my theme as planned. Houses have been done but I'd like to probably go through and redo little touches with all the new things possible since happy home.
Today I mainly weeded and talked to villagers though and collected some items to give to a friend.

Second town I think is more so going to be my priority this year. In opposite, I'm more so focusing outside first before getting carried away with indoor themes/decor. Similarly I weeded and talked to villagers. I've finished the tutorials and making the houses for all players I plan to use. So, I've been logging in daily to do their home upgrades. Got a few patterns too to use for my horror theme. :)

Nearly finished decorating my bathroom. I'm in the end-stages of the game!
  • Just need silver and gold HHA trophies.
  • Need to catalog all posters.
  • Finish decorating outside.
  • Set up a few final outfits.
  • Get GOAT Designer Status on HHP.
  • Restaurant expansion in HHP.
  • The only Nook Miles I think I can probably get to max without going insane are Cornering the Stalk Market, DIY Tools, Hoard Reward, K.K. Mania, Nook Miles for Miles!, and maybe Deep Dive, which would then just leave Angling for Perfection!, Smile Isle, and You've Got the Bug as the only ones I would need to get to level 5. I might push Angling for Perfection! to level 4, just so everything is at level 4 minimum.

Finally finished drawing my paths. I was contemplating doing another set before I started but I'm definitely not anymore haha. I laid out the paths to make a layout and now I'm working on filling in the gaps. I am noticing a significant amount of lag from the custom designs. Made a garden. Now I'm working on an orchard and farm. I'm now 1 K.K. concert away from finishing the final stamp for the card. I also discovered a design technique and started reworking some of the tables where I wasn't able to place things on top like I wanted to. Really happy about the discovery as it's going to be a game changer for me.
