Sooo, my AC:NH got delayed because of COVID-19 and the lockdown so I wasn't able to get my preordered copy at the mall I ordered in for obvious reasons, so to cheer myself up, I came to ask ya'll what you did in your first day, and any tips you could give me once I get a hold of my copy AHAHAHAHA I already watched youtube videos about it obviously cuz, bored, but I want a more interactive discussion on this so that I would REALLY know what I should do so that I could catch up faster

I think at the beginning I just gathered a lot of materials and de-weeded my town as much as possible. At the beginning you’ll be heavily relying on the crafting aspect of the game so it’s important to gather s any materials as you can so you’ll be able to replace broken tooks and craft furniture c:

So sorry your game got delayed! I was in a similar situation, the mall where I had it preordered wouldn't send it to me so I had to cave in and go digital.
On your first day I would just enjoy the game, there's really not a lot of things you have to do. You can chase some early Nook Miles, get all the tools you can, start gathering as many materials as you can, catch everything you see, start taking out weeds... take it easy and eventually things will pick up.

my first day, i spent it fishing and bug catching lmao. my only tip is to donate 5 things to tom nook on the first day so you can unlock the museum. i’d also suggest trying to pay off your loan so you can unlock storage and the other perks that come with owning a house lol

Well somethings are really out of our control, I'm already itching on playing AC:NH and really considered buying the digital copy as well but I already hold off for quite some time now so I guess I just have to commit and wait for my physical copy now AHAHAHAHA thanks for the tips, will definitely chase those early Nook Miles on the 1st day

It's slow for the first two-three days (those were hardest for me) but I found the goals Nook Miles gives you, gives you something to be working towards. Don't hesitate to pay off the mortgage (5,000 miles) as it unlocks a super useful tool for you to have! Focus on fishing, bugging, collecting things. And a handy tip for that, is that you can "place" fish and bugs and items on the ground to hoard to sell or donate!
Ohhhh nice tip, will definitely place down the first catches I have first so that I don't end up selling them by accident AHAHAHAHA Thanksss, hope you're enjoying your island life
