What did you/want to study at college/university?

i'm in college right now and i sincerely have no idea what i want to do. i'm considering something in computer science, web development or just programming of SOME sort. i'm really not sure. i adore computers a lot though, from building/researching parts to using them and making websites.
Web development is really fun. That line of work pays really well too.

i have a bs in psychology and a minor in sociology. im hoping to move to hr in the company i work for at some point. i also studied japanese bc my degree required a foreign language. i really loved all of my classes
I think I read Japanese is one of the most useful languages to learn. Becoming really global 🙂

I got a Bachelor's in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology. I did really enjoy the courses I took!
Congratulations! Those are really interesting subjects.

I wish I done psychology back in school.

English. I took a lot of literature classes, but luckily, none about diagramming sentences.
People say English was boring back in school! But I really enjoyed it 😂

Something therapeutic in writing a really good piece 😂

I intend to major in graphic design. I think I'm good at it if I apply myself, plus it's fun. When I was in middle school I was fascinated with album cover design, but I'd be willing to do lots of things. I've only taken a few classes so far, but it's been kinda fun.

I loved graphic design, I wish I went on to do a streamlined course for it. It’s very fun!

Good luck on your course if go through with it! 🙂

Yes I used Arduino haha!

I programmed it to detect diffrent colours and log the data, was only a small experiment for my assignment but was very fun to carry out.

For my final assessment I programmed a flood warning system using water sensors so when water filled up to a certain level, the program would send a push notification to the users phone.
Very cool! Yeah Arduino is awesome to play around with and has so many possibilities. I used it as part of the rocket club I joined to build sensors for detecting altitude and radiation. Sadly I did fry a good 2 or 3 nanos by putting 400 volts directly through them.

😂😂😂

It’s such a good software. Endless possibilities. It’s really easy to use once you get the hang of it too!

I don't know if non-college attendees are allowed to post here.

For awhile, I wanted to go to college. I figured it would be fun, keep me occupied, and help me to make friends. I was unsure what I wanted to major in, but something art/creativity-related.

As time went on, however, I realized college is not for me. College is a lot of work and my brain does not have the capacity to concentrate over long and limited periods of time. I get distracted easily, so I do things slowly.

But this does not mean I am not trying to make something of myself. I have been really looking into becoming an author and even working on writing a book (and I plan on writing more later on).

I wasn’t planning on going to university at first, was gonna do an apprenticeship. My sixth form teacher talked me into it because he thought I was wasting my potential.

College/Uni isn’t for everyone and seriously it’s not the be all or end all.

Good luck with your writing, hope you write your own books 🙂

I always wanted to go to college, but I didn't get the chance because of family issues and finances. If I had gone, I was planning to major in English or English Literature with the goal of working in a field focused on publishing, editing, technical or creative writing. I am still working on my writing as a hobby and hope to one day get a book published. I also do a bit of technical writing in my current job so I'm gaining some experience there, but I don't know if it will amount to anything.

A lot of people on this thread have said they’ve done writing or wanna do writing 😂

Keep working on it and get that book published! 🙂

I studied Social Sciences and then went onto study Psychology as a separate subject, I absolutely loved it. However, I developed rheumatoid arthritis and the journey to the University was too much each day. I thought about an online course, but I could never concentrate with the pain now. Still dip in and out of my Psychology books. I work from home, so I can go at my own pace. I prefer to get up during the night and get the work done then the rest of the day is my own. If I ever get my arthritis under control, I would seriously consider going back to study.

I'm currently in university and I'm studying pharmacy, it's incredibly difficult, but I'm trying the best I can, because I genuinely like to learn about medication. It's very interesting, especially when you start actually using your basic knowledge to understand some more complex things!!

I still remember the joy I felt while studying biochemistry when I was finally able to see the big picture of everything that I have been taught and how each chapter that I went through connects with one another to basically form in my mind how the human body operates on chemical reactions ☺️

Ah that’s not fair on you, really hope you can get it under control to go finish that course.

You should 100% keep reading up on the subject to keep your memory fresh. Good luck to you!

You’re too smart for me 😂

I’d love to have studied a medical field but I don’t think I could’ve handled the work you have to put in to do well in that line of work.

I love learning about the human body, it’s so complex. It’s like a machine.

I hope you graduate and good luck for your future! 🙂

i went through such a journey when deciding what to do at uni; my dream as a kid was always to study vet med, but then when the time came to actually apply i shifted more towards general biology, and then eventually discovered increasingly specific degrees within biology since i'm a big fan of the human aspect of it, but not so much the plants/environment etc side. i applied to do biomedical science at two unis, and neuroscience at 3 - and now i'm about to start my second year of a neuroscience degree :] so far it's been heavily psychology based but i'm really excited to keep going with it !

Neuroscience must be incredibly difficult to learn, another subject I’d love to learn about. The human brain is incredibly complex and so interesting!

Good luck for your second year and beyond. I hope you graduate successfully :)

I studied French in college and received an Associate's degree in that language few years ago.

I learned everything about the language and culture. I enjoyed it.

Congratulations! :)

The French language is beautiful and I think it’s a romantic language too like Italian. The culture is also fantastic to indulge yourself into too!

I studied IT in my first year at college and then in my second year I did media studies. I quit during my third year as the higher level media course was a repeat of the course I’d just finished.
