What did you write to your future self?

I really forgot about this. So I wrote this way back in March 2021 and send it to my future self. Oh brother some of the things I said aged well. My island is a lot more better than last year, it is true that Brewster finally came along with more content in the game. Also that advice I gave to myself "Be happy for how far you have come" was probably the best one yet. Although my past self would be disappointed to hear that there is no more updates according to Nintendo. I forgot the whole "Write to your future self" was a thing in this game.

Yeah when you go up to that card stand by Orville you can do that and its always been a thing since day one of the game being out 2 years ago.

I haven't ever written to my future self (as far as I remember, I guess time will tell!), but I love the great message you sent yourself. I love that you mentioned Brewster and he ended up in game!

Yeah see, that's the thing. I don't even write to anyone due to how bloated they made the feature. It was fine as it was with every other game. It didn't need fixing.

Yeah the mail is not as great it was in past games, but I wrote a letter to my future self because my past self was just so bored with the game.

I write to myself in these games pretty frequently. Like if I happen to be struggling with my mental health and/or having a really bad day I might write to myself 3 months in advance asking how I'm doing now, and usually by then I'm generally doing better. Or if I'm trying to accomplish a goal in my life like weight loss like I am now I wrote "How's the weight loss been going? As of writing this letter you weigh .(insert weight).... " it motivates me because I want to make progress by the time I get the letter. I pretty much do that with any goal I'm trying to accomplish in my life.

I did the same thing as well, I wrote to myself when the pandemic started, it went along the lines of "how are things going now, is the pandemic over" and sent it to myself dated a year later, anyway, no such luck obviously :/

Ha, love the letter you sent yourself, Brewster ending up in the game is such a lovely feature too. I never wrote to myself a year into the future, I think I once just randomly tested it and just wished myself a good day or something. It is really enjoyable though, wish I had done that 1-year thing - however, I have reset several times so I guess it would just be lost anyway...

I think I remember sending myself a letter that had 50,000 bells in it because I wanted to get a meow coupon reward. I don't really remember what I wrote, but now that I think about it I don't think I ever got it back in the mail. I probably had a full mailbox when it was supposed to be delivered and maybe it just got lost in the game's memory? Is that something that can happen?

lmao that sort of reminds me of the Futurama episode where they got to stop a ball of trash from destroying the world. Society didn't want to deal with their trash today so they sent it to the people of tomorrow.

I've seen the option but have never chosen to send something to myself. I don't really regret having not used it either, even though it is neat to see something you wrote to yourself from awhile back.

I've always considered writing these to myself but when I actually try to I just can't think of anything of interest to write.. seeing this makes me want to do it though, how fun!
