What do you do with old fossils?

I dig them all up, get them assessed, and sell them at Re-Tail. I could always use some extra bells.

I save them up into I have 16. I get them accessed, look through Reddit posts to see if anyone is asking for the ones I have, and if not, I sell them at Retail. Digging them up everyday is just too natural of a part of my routine, so I could never place them off map and let them "go".

Just sell them, usually about a few thousand bells per piece. If my friend doesn't have them, I give it to them. I can say from my friend's fossils, 10% of them were from me.

I just simply sell them, or give it to my villagers with slightly higher price

Sell them to retail. I wouldn't be able to bury them off on the side and never dig them up again. It's just something that I've been doing for so long that not digging them up everyday would feel weird. Also who couldn't use a few extra bells?

After I completed my fossils section of the museum I got less motivated to dig them up at all. Whenever I had duplicates though, I would offer them on here or just sell them to re-tail.

At first I collected them all again so I could make a mini version in my main house. Which I still have. I am thinking about changing that though, as I don't really need it where I have the museum. At the time, I just liked the idea of having mini models. Back then I didn't have as much to display. Now I have too much. I also gave them as gifts to the villagers. I would make more models to give to them. Now I just sell them all to retail. I don't even take them to the museum to get them checked anymore. I could make more money off then if I did when I sell them, but I just can't be bothered to go all the way to the museum for 4 fossils at a time anymore. 4 fossils because that's what you can dig up everyday.

I mean, what else do I have to do with them? Turning them into models only fills up storage that I need for stuff that actually appears in the catalog, which the models don't. There's no need for fossils other than donating, selling, and trading really.

I've gotten to the point where I'm just selling unassessed fossils now. I have sold so many assessed ones and I don't particularly need the bells, so I just clear out my inventory by quickly selling what I don't need.

When I still had my town, I usually sold them.
I remember I did have some miniatures made, and some I had identified I left the bones around a PWP for a while.

I have also completed my museum a couple of years ago. Just as UglyMonsterFace did, I have moved all my unassessed fossils (four) to be buried in the beach so they won't spawn elsewhere in my town.

I am missing one or two in the museum but other than that I either sell them or use them to decorate outside the museum. It is fun to find two pieces that line up and make “abomination” creatures
