I came across Animal Crossing since the Gamecube version as a little kid. I remember playing it for hours on end and collecting the NES games. Those NES titles were so satisfying to collect! What I enjoy most from the game is how relaxing it is to play. The music and atmosphere is so chill. In today's gaming market flooded with violent games AC is a nice change of pace. What are you reasons?
everything~ and I agree with you on the violent video game part. I actually play mostly violent/horror video games so playing animal crossing lets my mind rewind.
I love AC as it doesn't stress me out. I'm not really that great at games, so I often get super frustrated but you can't really mess up on AC . It also has a lot of charm. I really like the dialogue and in particular Kapp'n.
I just love the atmosphere of the animal crossing games. I learned about Population Growing way back in Nintendo Power when they previewed the game. I'd never seen a life simulation game before so I got really excited. When I finally played it, I wasn't disappointed. I got to go fishing, catch bugs, and dig for fossils-- all things I can't really do in real life. Back then I didn't have any friends, but all my neighbors were so nice to me and talked to me, and on my birthday I actually got gifts from 'friends'. I had a house I could decorate on my own with whatever furniture I wanted. And I was even to make my own clothes!
Animal Crossing will always have a special place in my heart, because it was the first video game I ever played. Ever since the GCN version, I've had every version of the game. What I like about the game is... I'll just leave it at there isn't anything I don't like~
You never "complete" the game. AC offers endless hours of play, to experience something that is so relaxing and completely engrossing. It should be prescribed as a treatment for stress
I love how the game is never ending too. The holiday events is another fun thing to do in the game. Sometimes I feel I have a better time with holidays in AC instead of real life lol.
I love that Animal Crossing is such an open-ended game. Nobody's telling you to go to Point A and pick up the Random Object and use it at Point B. It's a game that lets you do what you want, when you want, and doesn't punish you severely for it. Even the "punishments" (I'm looking at you, Resetti), are things that you want to experience. I don't know of any other game like this.
I like life simulators, and games like this that are relaxing, and where there are lots of things to do. This game really appealed to me in that aspect.
I also enjoy the life simulator aspect of it, but haven't been paying attention to most of the games in the series because of how little content they seemed to have. New Leaf seems like it could add a lot more to the formula that looks pretty neato.
