I miss being carefree and just worrying less about unecessary things in general, like what I'm going to do in the future, whether I will succeed in my exams and finding a good job e.t.c. I also cared less about what others thought of me and being judged.

That people didn't have expectations on you to study at uni/get a job after high school etc., I guess. I don't mind by bossy **** parents trying to **** up stuff with me though

I certainly miss the whole not having to worry about anything of significance part of childhood. That, and not having to pay bills.

I miss not doing anything at school and still having the best grades I could've ever wished for.
I also miss (a lot) being carefree too. I remember how I used to danse in my elementary school's playground, I was with my friends and we were coming up with choreographies and danse moves. And we were not hiding, we were just here dansing for everyone to see but nobody cared and neither did we. Amazing times.
But now I'm even scared to danse in my room because what if my mom comes in? I'd be so embarassed.

Mostly the not having any obligations. Now I have to go to work, deal with customers and pay some bills. I used to be able to play games for like 6-8 hours on end, only gettin up to eat or use the bathroom. Now on my days off I barely play for 2 hours, if even. Sometimes a day off doesn't even feel like one if I have other stuff to do.

The only thing I miss about being a child/teen are the memories I made growing up with my mom and dad where we went to sports games and got good seats too (because of their connections). I’ll never forget some of those times I spent with them rooting on our favorite teams. We aren’t able to go to those sorts of things anymore because my dad’s retired now and my mom can no longer get us tickets like that. I will say that those are probably my favorite memories growing up, especially because I love my family.

Other than that, I don’t really miss being a child/teen and am happy to be an adult. :)

I miss not having to worry about what I'll do after university, I miss having time in the summer to go outside and play and relax (as I've been working full time in the summer since I started university - and while I like my job I just miss having some free time), and I miss singing in children's choir - although now I work at my old children's choir which is the next best thing I guess.

Just my youth. Having the rest of my life in front of me. Besides that I domt miss my childhood. It was hell and as an adult, I have more freedom and happiness than I ever did back then.

I didn't really have a carefree childhood like a lot of other people, but I still have way more responsibilities and pressure on me now as an adult. I miss not having a job, not having to take care of a house, not having to pay bills, and all of that stuff. I still did chores and took over a lot for my mom when she was sick or in the hospital, including looking after my little brother, but it didn't feel nearly as stressful as life feels now.

I also miss having time to do the things I enjoy. My husband and I were reminiscing about out teenage years the other day and we realized that we had so much more time back then. We went to school and worked part time jobs which took up more of our time combined than a full time job does now, but we always had time for our hobbies. Now, if I want to read, write, play games, or watch something I have to schedule it in just to make sure I make time for it. I don't know where the day goes anymore, but there's always something that needs to be done.

Finally, I miss not having aches and pains. I used to be able to sleep for 10-12 hours and wake up feeling great. Now, if I sleep for more than 5-6 hours at a time I wake up with back pain and my hands are numb. If I get down on the floor to play with my dog or my nieces and nephews, my legs hurt after just a few minutes and I sometimes have difficulty getting up. I'm turning into an old lady. :(

Not having bills and stuff I need to pay out for. Having money is one of the benefits of being an adult, but it's so demoralising having to spend so much of it on necessities to live.

Not having to work. I don't work because I want to, I work for money. I miss having so much free time to do what I wanted, where I could hang out with friends, play some guitar, draw for a bit and play some video games all in one day. Now I find it hard to do more than one of those things in a day...I've not drawn for weeks, played guitar for a week and video games has basically devolved into grabbing as much as I can get on my 3DS/Switch whilst parked outside somewhere waiting for something/somebody. Being able to finish multiple games a week is now "I wonder if I'll ever get the chance to even turn on my console again".

The things I had to 'worry' about being generally pretty tame and insignificant, even those that I still 'do' now being basically nothing back then. Saving up ?20-?50 for a new game back then seemed like such a task, but it doesn't compare to having to save hundreds to replace broken household necessities or get vehicle repairs. "I forgot to do my homework" is nothing compared to "I've forgot to send off my taxes". Worrying that not seeing a friend for a few days will make them think I don't like them doesn't really compare to the months that can go by now due to commitments on both ends.

Less consequences. What's the worst that would happen if I did something naughty, didn't go to school, didn't do my homework, spent my money frivolously etc etc etc? I might get told off, get a detention or just not be able to buy a thing I wanted, that's about it.
Don't go to or do my work, do something 'naughty' or don't save money now? That's homelessness, jail sentence or starving to death.

I like being an adult and would never want to actually be a kid again, there's just way too many benefits to being an adult that you simply CAN'T do as a kid. The massive lack of things to worry about/things I had to worry about being fairly minor in retrospect and sheer amount of free time though was brilliant. Not something I could really appreciate until I didn't have it.

Literally only bills. Being a child/teen sucked. I much prefer living my own life the way I want to instead of how my parents wanted me to.

life is less stressful when you don't think you'll live much longer. and i guess i felt pretty good up until i was around ten. other than that i don't want to go back to how things were when i was a teenager because life sucked

I miss living in the same house as my dogs :( in elementary I'd hang out with them immediately after getting home from school so when i visit during breaks from uni they always wait for me to come out at 4 pm huhu :'( i miss just being able to step outside to see them if i missed them? Now i only see them for a few weekends each year and it makes me sad that i can't watch them grow old the same way i watched them grow up :(((

Another thing i miss is the freedom to stay up until 5 am reading fantasy books without having to worry about my performance at school the day after? And just having time to read for leisure in general :(( it used to feel like I'd have an infinite number of sunny days to read and hang out with my dogs and eat delicious food that my aunt cooked but alas. Now i have to face the anxiety of an uncertain future whilst my dogs live 3 hours away from me and all i eat is uni food. Ah well. As the English say "it really do be like that sometimes"

I miss being able to randomly carry plushies around in public without it being considered weird.

Youth. That's it. When you grow up in an abusive household, you don't tend to look back on your childhood/teenage years with fond memories.

My life has been MUCH happier as an adult. Sure, I have responsibilities, but I also have the freedom to make my life the way I want it to be, instead of being stuck under the thumb of people who don't care about you.

Absolutely nothing, from being a child. But if it's from memories, it's the sight from the window. The tree that's called sarusuberi was always there over the window while I was doing homework in hot afternoon. Sometimes I miss what was there - what I saw over the window when I was a very very young child.

Oh wow, that plant is pretty. I wonder what it is? No wonder you enjoyed looking at it.
