What don't you miss from the previous entries

Like a lot of the comments here:

Grass wear - before going on social media with other people who play, I didn't realise grass wear was a thing.

Villagers stressing you out because they might just leave without telling you. (Lyman, I swear. I was actually showing a friend the game who has never played, and that happen causing me to be really upset, not the best thing to show someone who might play the game!)

No outside customs, you could do not as much with the PWPs def since everyone else had the same ones, and dealing with Resetti's anager mangement problems.

But there are some more lil ones I don't mind not dealing with. And that is Gracie. Don't get me wrong, if there was ever a chance to see her again in another game or 'paid update' which wont happen here, i wouldnt mind. But I generally didn't enjoy her at all, nor most of her furniture, but it would be cool to get those items back again. But yeah, I wasn't fond of her.

The pocket situation wasn't fun either, it was too east to fill the pockets. Our towns never seems to big to me, I dunno always felt smaller than what the Island could give.

And another thing is the pitfalls. Yes we can make them now, but I always used to worry and stressed about finding the pitfall becaise I hated the thought of th villagers falling in it and getting angry or sad.

When villagers would ask you for clothing, and then refuse what you give them because it wasn't trendy enough (or whatever theme they wanted, despite not telling you it had to be a certain theme in the first place). They do this in Wild World and City Folk, and it's so annoying. Especially when you went out of your way to buy them something.

Agree with what everyone else has said, especially villagers just randomly moving out - nothing worse then finally having your favourite villager and then after a few days break from the game they’ve moved out.

Also really dislike not been able to really decorate the exterior, other then with expensive PWPs - notice this one a lot more after replaying New Leaf after New Horizons. The lack of fruit stacking and little storage space was also a right pain in the older games.

I do NOT miss my villagers moving away without me knowing and being able to stop them because I was too busy in real life. I was absolutely devastated when Bunnie left ACNL and haven’t touched the game since.

I like how none of the villagers can move away now in ACNH and they stay put unless I give them permission to leave my island.

I don't miss the way the grass could wear down in New Leaf, leaving dirt paths that were difficult to restore. I also don't miss the frustration of villagers moving out without any prior notice. it often felt like my favorite villagers would suddenly decide to pack their bags and leave town without any chance for me to convince them to stay in New Leaf.

Others have said it, but I definitely don't miss villagers moving away without warning, and new villagers plopping their houses down wherever the feel like and destroying your stuff. I heard someone refer to the way they drop their houses down "Dorothying," and I think that's hilarious and an excellent description of their act.

As in, "I was excited for Ankha to move in, but then she Dorothyed my blue roses out of existence, so now I'm going to move her out as soon as possible."

gotta be one of the few people who actually didn't mind grass wear in new leaf. i'm pretty ambivalent on its removal. (it was worse in city folk, i think.) the only reason i don't outright miss it is because you can lay down your own dirt paths now, and it's much easier than creating them with running asdfghj.

echoing not missing villagers randomly moving out. although, interestingly, when i took massive breaks from new leaf, they almost never left? almost like the game noticed my absence and soft-locked itself, but maybe i was just really lucky. still definitely prefer being able to have control over that though.

also don't miss having to randomize your hair/eyes/etc. glad that you can just pick whatever hair/eye color/style and skin-tone you want.

I do not miss not being able to pick where you villagers live. It always annoyed me cause I build a nice garden area then the next day there is a house plot right in the middle or in the garden area :(

villagers being able to move out without permission is the #1 thing that i do not miss. i haven’t played new horizons properly in forever, and i’m so glad that i don’t have to try and remember the last day i played whenever i boot my game up, out of fear that if i don’t, i’ll load up and one of my villagers will be gone. it’s such a relief that i could time travel 10 years in the future if i wanted to, and all of my villagers would still be there.

i also don’t miss having to plot reset in new leaf to try and get villagers to go where i want them to. it’s much easier now that i can choose where house plots go, and am able to relocate them.

Villagers setting up shop wherever was a pain. Especially since for a while there I was using half the ground as storage.

I experienced a lot of stress from villagers moving out without telling me in NL. Before amiibos, I never got to have my 10 dreamies all at the same time, because my attempts to move out the 10th unwanted villager would accidentally move out someone I liked. It was truly a nightmare.

Do not miss flowers being destroyed either. I run around too much and it was a pain to have to slow down so they don't get ruined.

Oh yeah, I also forgot villagers moving in anywhere they want from New Leaf. It was also extremely annoying.
