what edibles did you make today?

Right now I'm trying out a new recipe. I have some Bisquick that needs used up soon and I thought, well, what better way to burn through it than with cookies or bread or something.
I'm new to Bisquick and thought I'd get familiar with it since the pandemic caused all the flour and stuff to disappear, but premixed stuff like this was available.
Anywho, I found this peanut butter cookie recipe with no eggs or butter, not even sugar unless you roll the dough balls in sugar before baking. Which I will be doing since I don't have the exact milk called.
Ingredient list:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/4 cup white sugar, for rolling (optional)

I'm curious to see how it turns out. I didn't have sweetened condensed milk, but I did have 12oz of evaporated milk, which basically means it isn't sweetened which is fine. The dough is chilling in the fridge right now and it smells good.

It turned out... Bad lol. (Many Bisquick recipes aren't that good tbh.. but it's not always the fault of the Bisquick) the batch I made, I did half of it rolled in sugar and the other half I dropped the rest of the remaining sugar in and mixed it instead to see the difference.
It is amazing how much something changes in just texture by mixing sugar in vs rolling it on the outside of a ball. Taste is better with it dissolved in batter too even if you kept to the 1/4 cup.
So, I changed the ingredients some and made a cake instead that is edible. It needs a good icing or 🍌fresh fruit on the side🍓 though. The texture is really good and reminds me of a brownie. And may possibly be good layered with brownie... But that's... A lot of cake mass... Like two pans worth. You may be able to freeze half of it after baking. And I assume they would both cook ok together. Idk.
Basically the same ingredients as above except you take 1/2 cup or 1 cup of sugar, depending how sweet you want it, and mix it in the batter.

we made some peanut mochi last night to bring over to my cousins today~

Today I made a junk food launch: Vegan burger with salad, tomato slices, some olive oil, salt, cooked onions, teriyaki sauce, vegan mayo and mushroom hamburger.

I don't know if there is a thread like this, but I thought it would be cool if there was one dedicated to members sharing what they might've made recently. As it's in the season, I really wanted to try to make a bunch of different pumpkin recipes.

Last year I grew pumpkins and pureed them. They freeze well. So this year I made all kinds of things with the puree.

I made pumpkin pie recently, but I substituted honey for sugar. The honey made the filling a bitter darker than it usually is. I would've shared the other steps or the full pie but the phone I took the pics with is being stubborn and I can't retrieve them.

I really wanted to make a recipe from Twilight Princess and also Skyward Sword (the Lumpy Pumpkin) I wondered how it would taste. Someone here shared a recipe of the soup and I decided to be a guinea pig for it! I had puree left over and really wanted to give it a try. I love experimenting, even if what I am making turns out to be horrible. At least I did it and know not to try it again!

And it's finished! I wasn't sure what to expect because Panera Bread has this squash soup that is so sickeningly sweet that I can't stomach it. This creamy pumpkin-squash soup is so good I plan to make it again soon! And maybe look for other variations of it online.

I had a friend in college who had a make your own pizza night and I really enjoyed it. So very recently I introduced my current roommates to this, because in the past they'd buy cheap frozen pizzas from the store but then they'd dress them up by adding veggies or bacon bits etc. Now we just grab pizza dough from the store and then have some pizza (or pasta) sauce available and some shredded cheese and then we can top it with whatever toppings we like. I actually like doing pesto sauce and other fun things, but I'm not sure my roommates like that. Maybe someday if we make personal pizzas I'll start doing that again. Anyway, so I made a few the last few weeks and then tonight I suppose they have liked them so much that they made one to share tonight!

So I wanted to try my hands at recreating the soup from Zelda Twilight Pricness. I always wondered what it would taste like. I tried a recipie that was mostly all pureed that someone made. It was a bit too sweet for me. Not as sickeningly sweet as squash soup from Panera Bread. That tastes like straight up melted sugar. But it was still a bit too sweet. So I wanted to make one that tasted like a real creamy hearty soup that I would imagine Link would be able to fight off Ganon's evil with.

I used my last pumpkin I grew for this soup and hoped for the best.

When the pumpkin was baking in the oven to make it soft enough to peel the meat off the skin, I cooked the onions, potatoes, garlic, celery, and carrots. Then pureed the pumpkin chunks with goat cheese and heavy cream. While this was going on I cooked a slab of fresh salmon on a frying pan with some salt and pepper.

Tada the famous pumpkin soup that is supposed to heal 8 hearts! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was really good! I thought it fitting to put it in jar.
