I'm curious what everyone did in-game regarding the holidays. I haven't had time to work on my island regarding the holidays and I doubt I will so I would love to see or even hear about what you did!!
I kinda just threw some decor around. My villagers in my main town all live in a little mini neighborhood with tiny little courtyards. So, I threw a festive tree or piece of decor in each of their yards. Placed some festive trees around the shops. Added some illuminated items above my town hall.
I have a winter section that was decorated for an event with festive themed items and the big festive tree.
I didn't really plan to decorate a lot but, for what I did throw out, it all kinda came together and looks cohesive on the main level. The second and third levels I didn't decorate but since it's supposed to be more wilderness/mountain-ish...I think it suits that it's not so decorated.
I'll do toy day for the diys. Sad that there's really not many. I bought some gifts to give to my villagers separately from what Jingle gives. Other than that, that's about it. I'll be opening a bunch...seriously a bunch...of gifts that were so kindly gifted through the exchange event and uploading a picture of all the fun. I didn't really anticipate how many gifts would be given so generously and I'm really excited to see the things people picked out!
i kinda just log in and enjoy the scenery. i think they did a wonderful job with the holiday vibe. i'm enjoying building the snowboys every day and catching the snowflakes, making the DIYs. i haven't made a designated holiday area (because lazy), but i think fang enjoys the winter so i've been decorating his interior/exterior with the new snow furniture stuff. BUT i have only found. ONE. BALLOON. DIY. THOUGH. . . . X_____x looking forward to toy day <3
i've mostly just placed the three-tiered snowmen around to replace my autumnal mushroom logs. tomorrow, i'll probably add some more as well as the smaller festive trees, which i'll keep out until winter passes. i didn't get most of the recipes until recently, and you can't even get the gift pile until toy day itself, and everything else is just too christmas-oriented for me to bother displaying it this late.
not too much. i have an illuminated tree,festive tree and 2 3 tier snowmen outside. inside i have festive wreath on the door a big festive tree,stockings and a snow globe. i'm not really into christmas irl and i'm kind of a minimalist so thats plenty for me. ive mostly been concentrating on getting the diys and working on my house interior. in past games i just put 1 furniture set in each room but this time i wanted it to be like a real house with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen etc. i'm almost done and considering my lack of decorating skill i think it looks pretty good.
I put decorations all over! I stuck to a blue and white theme by my entrance and residents services building. I really love the way it looks, especially since the snow arrived. I love the illuminated decorations. It’ll be sad to take everything down after because I really enjoy how bright and magical it looks.
I made a small outdoor market with a cider stall too.
I made one house Santa’s workshop. My paths are lined with a Christmas light pattern. Red and white flowers are used throughout my island. I also have some festive diy items throughout my island. You know...the few I’ve been able to find. I planned to go out for Christmas, but since the game doesn’t wanna give me festive diys...it’s kinda hard.
Winter'd my whole town. Changed flowers to blues and whites, planted weeds in flower beds to make them look sorta like dormant plants, decorated with wintery/christmas items in my city center and villager yards, re-customized things to make them more "mid-winter" looking. I'll have it this way until the season is past and then start prepping for early spring. I try to adjust my town to make it look like the seasons actually impact it through the year.
I got 5 gifts ( 3 clothing, 1 furniture, 1 toy) for each of my villagers that I'm giving them leading up to toy day ( day 2 was today) I even wrapped them all in different color wrapping papers for each villager. Just something fun for me since I like giving them things & them actually using/wearing them
Besides that, I haven't had much luck with getting recipes so I only have a few festive items around...
