What is the shortest amount of time it took you to get a villager's photo, and whose was it?

I've never gotten a portrait because all I do is talk to my villagers if I pass by them while playing. I don't actively seek them out usually, and I refuse to send gifts to them because I don't like messing up their homes or clothes. My priorities are in the wrong place but I don't really care, if it takes me 5 million years to get their portraits so be it. 😂
I've found that gifting wreaths doesn't impact their interior whatsoever. Perhaps I've stumbled onto something?

Wreaths usually get hung up on the doors. Wall items don’t show up inside, but someone eventually found that they do take up storage space so the villagers will start removing furniture in their house but not put anything up because the wall items are in their storage.

Since the game came out to early August is how long it took me! To be fair though, I got it from Willow, who I did not get until around May or June, so that would be about 3-4 months. I'm really glad I got it from Willow first though becuase she's my favorite villager in the game and when she did gift me the picture, I was not expecting it, so it was a great suprise!

I've only acquired Snake and Ursala's photos. Those two were my starting residents and I got their pictures within the first month or two of the game being released, I think.

Neither were permanent residents, I had them both move out to make room for other residents I wanted more. I assume they decided to give me theirs so soon because they were the only two residents for a while (it took me weeks to find Tucker on the Nook Miles Islands to be my Lazy, I actually unlocked the Nook's Cranny upgrade before I had my Normal, Peppy, and Lazy finally move in) and it was easier to pay them more attention. Plus, since they were planned to only live on the island temporarily, I was more willing to give them fish and bugs, make deliveries for them, and give them gifts since I didn't care about how their houses looked. I'm much more stubborn about what I will or won't do for my permanent residents since I like keeping their houses looking nice and keeping them in clothes that don't look bad.

Can't say I'm too terribly torn up about not having received any others yet, since I honestly don't know what I'd do with the photos. I have no current plans of how to display them, so they'd probably just sit in storage anyway.

Since I have a no gift policy in my island, the fastest for me is around 15 minutes. I had to purchase their photo from someone else! :ROFLMAO:

My experience is about 4-6 weeks of gifting to get a photo for most of my villagers, but I think I got Rory's in about 3 weeks.

Wreaths get hung on doors, though, not interior walls. Everytime I've gifted one, the villager said they couldn't wait to hang it on their door. I gifted at least 20 to Julian with zero negative effect. I believe I gave Audie 16 of them, again, without seeing any negative consequence. Not saying it's a perfect gift, just saying I haven't seen it take away from their original furniture.

Mine was Cyd's! After he moved in I was able to get his in under a month. My starter Scoot was the longest. Took me around 3 months to get his.

Ohhh

Ohhh! Interesting!! That could be a nice method to farm friendship then. Are you doing the same wreaths every day and or different ones? I’d imagine they’d change their wreath if you give them a different one, no?

For me it’s hard not to just default to wrapped fruit, when it is so so easy. Since I want to gift almost all my villagers everyday/ feel guilty seeing the option to gift and not doing it (which is why I am now getting duplicate photos) most of the time I just do wrapped fruits, unless I happen to have a clothing or (rarely) a furniture item I want to give them on hand.

But I do have a surplus of flowers, so if they really don’t effect the inventory maybe I will change it up a bit. It is fun to match them to the villager houses.

I mess up my villagers houses anyway, but I still like to control how messed up they get, you know?

Hehe yes yes i love to redecorate my villagers houses and dress them up IM THE ONE IN CONTROL muahaha

didn’t they change the gifting mechanic to where you can’t get photos from fruit anymore? I know I use to give some wrapped wall lamps because furniture adds 3 friendship points. I haven’t visited the guide in a while though since I’m not so gungho on getting photos.

they changed it, then changed it again! I became kind of obsessed for a while because when I did my know it had changed I didn’t understand why I stopped getting photos! But now you can do 3 wrapped coconuts or 2 wrapped foreign fruit (you need a gift with a sell value of 750+) I did do the wall lamps for a while too, which is why I was more cautious with the wreaths.

I love giving my villagers things. It makes them feel more personal. Like my flurry has her cute wardrobe of dresses and stuff and the cricket she bought from me, and a snow globe and the stupid hammock that she bought off me and replaced her bed with (will fix that one eventually). lots of people have a flurry, but now she feels like my flurry.

I know it makes them less desirable if I were to try and give them away, but I just really enjoy them so much more this way :giggle:

The added benefit of a wreath is that it adds to the island aesthetic.

Pretty funny, too. The only time I gifted Julian something other than a wreath was when I gave him a checkered coat. Guess what I found in the recycling bin upon his exit (along with a pisces lamp)...

9 days. and it was Marshal's photo. i gift him mostly wrapped fossil.

1st photo i get was Raymond, it took about 3-4 weeks. 2nd was Fang, almost around 3 weeks. 3rd was Hazel, she is my starting villagers, about 4 weeks+.

The shortest time it took for me was around a month (no TTing) to get Chief's photo. For any villagers I have where I don't have their photo, I just keep giving them wrapped multiple non-native fruit daily and hope they eventually decide to give me their photo.

I didn’t know about these pictures until a few days ago, but had built up pretty good relationships with most of my villagers . I started gifting wrapped fruit yesterday and got 2 portraits today. Hopefully the rest will not hold out on me.

Peewee and then a few others like Wendy, Reneigh and Renee were under a month. Both the Renee's gave me their photo on the same day which was really surprising.

I've only received one photo having played since launch, and that was Hornsby's after giving him an incredible amount of furniture items to make him redecorate his rather poor interior.

For all the other villagers, I haven't really made an effort, their posters are good enough for me! :D

i havent had any luck getting any villagers photos :( and ive been gifting them wrapped fossils
