I have never been huge on the events—I tend to play too infrequently/TT too much to actually catch them—but of the events I have experienced, I think Festivale takes the cake! I loved the villagers in their little costumes dancing with confetti, and catching the different colored feathers was tons of fun. The items were also super cute, and the one non-orderable item is worth the feather hustle.

I also really enjoy Halloween. The reactions that came along with it were really fun, and the villagers costumes were once again v cute :,) I didn't care for hoarding candy, but overall the atmosphere and music were top notch.

the wedding event was my favourite, it's super cute, really fun and i enjoyed every minute of it 💖
i also loved halloween, these 2 are definately the best events imo ^-^

awww yes! I forgot about the wedding event! that was such a creative way to get people to Harv's Island too :)

i ranked them all once on another thread, but i've completely forgotten what i said rip.

probably... bunny day? it's that or may day, but i think i enjoyed the latter more overall. bunny day was one of my three favorite events in NL, and it was replicated relatively well in NH. my only gripes were the egg spawn rates, the length (a week was ridiculous), and the furniture since i consider it a downgrade. generally speaking though, i've always loved hunting for the eggs, and zipper is a whole mood.

may day appealed to the puzzler in me. i love mazes, and i'd love to explore one irl one day. rover is also one of my favorite NPCs, and i loved his suitcase item in NL so was more than happy to get it as a reward. my only gripe was that it was just the one maze instead of multiple.

stamp rally is probably my favorite event after those two. it was sweet and short, the plaques were cute, and it gave me a good excuse to explore the museum. i also liked that it gave blathers something more to do.

I copied my notes from the other post. My favorite event so far was/is New Years Eve

+ New Years Eve was by far the most fun event I did, and my favorite in the game. Top notch. I can't believe it existed since launch. The music was amazing, and it gradually changed as the time got closer. I set my Switch time zone 2 hours ahead that day. That way midnight in game was 10:00pm in real life. This gave me a chance to experience it at midnight in game and the moments after without missing out on anything IRL.

+ Fireworks Show: I didn't play much in August, and only remember doing the Fireworks Show at least once. The music was great, and it was nice having Isabelle and Redd in the plaza, getting little prizes, and the chance to put up custom fireworks. It's comparable to New Year's Eve with the Fireworks. Just a little less exciting. Since it takes place in the summer (for my hemisphere at least), and happens every Sunday in August rather than being a 1 time thing, I will put it in the top tier.

+ Halloween: I was still on a hiatus but I jumped on to play. I was immediately greeted by Ankha who wanted candy. I didn't have any so she wrecked my face. I was able to find a costume in Able Sisters and complete the event with no preparation. I learned the 2 new emotes and got some Halloween themed items. One thing I liked was that the event didn't last all day. It was only in the evening. This means your town isn't stuck celebrating from 5am until 12am/5am.

+ Bunny Day: Kind of touched on this earlier today, but Bunny Day may have felt annoying in the beginning as the eggs seemed to pop up when we wanted something else, but after progressing in the game like I have now, I don't think it will be a problem this year. The items aren't for everyone, but I liked the simplicity of obtaining and crafting them. This was actually fun for me in the beginning because it gave me the chance to craft a bunch of items, which is new to a mainline game.

The lower tier ones are debatable. They are more or less lacking in one area or another.

+ Festivale is okay, and I really enjoy the cheer coming from the villagers, but we're just fetching feathers for Pave, and going through a bunch of dialogue and dance sequences. Some of the items though aren't too bad. I especially love the lamp, but they are limited and it's a chore to get more.

+ Toy Day wasn't bad, though I feel it could have been more. Especially if Jingle would have gifted us Festive items or DIYs for helping him with things. Finding the Festive DIYs took many dedicated hours to standing still on the beach and hitting balloons.

+ Wedding Event: I wanted to rank the event lower, but I decided not to as I realize the system of earning heart crystals for rewards merits a better ranking. The problem with the event is that it exists outside your island. It's not celebrated on the plaza or anything. It's in isolation. I found it also works like HHD. You can spam furniture all over the place like crazy and Reese and Cyrus will be just as happy as ever. I really didn't put much effort into this one. It just wasn't for me.

+ Turkey Day - This was the worst fetch quest event so far. I didn't prepare before hand other than getting lucky with my pumpkin patch. Having to find certain fish and sea creatures was a pain, especially looking for the secret recipe. You're working against RNG here. Overall it felt like too much work to do on Thanksgiving of all days.

+ Birthday: It was a total surprise to me, especially since my birthday comes about 3 weeks after the release of the game. It's kind of modest and happens outside of normal time as they will celebrate you before you start your day. I did enjoy the K.K. surprise though. That was the most special part I think

All others:
  • Museum Day was the worst.
  • Nature Day was nothing special. Any day Leif shows up feels like it could be Nature Day.
  • Bug/Fish Competition. No longer fun like the last game. Just a dialogue fest and maybe a chance to sell some fish and bugs.
  • May Day. It was nice seeing Rover for a little bit, but I seem to miss the point of why May day was even a thing.

I've found them all to be equally dull, but although I loathed the maze, I liked seeing Rover.

god, i completely forgot NYE. that would definitely rank first, even though there wasn't really anything to do. having to trade for all the hats was a pain, and i was lucky my sister already had most of the colors from trading/TTing, but the atmosphere was so good. i loved the little glowstick (though i wish it had come in more colors), the synchronized waving at the last ten seconds was adorable, the music, the tension. i loved it.

Ironically, my favorites were the two without gameplay - New Year's Eve and fireworks. The atmosphere was great and I could just hang out and take pictures with my villagers without running around collecting things. I don't mind gameplay if it's fun, but the event gameplay often feels tedious.

Next tier for me would probably be Turkey Day, Festivale, and Halloween. I really liked the atmosphere but was tired of the gameplay by the time I finished them.

I would put everything else in a tier below that.

New Year's Eve and the Fireworks Show were my faves. yes, there was no gameplay involved, but they were so wholesome and the music was wonderful.

My least favorite is Bunny Day. 2 weeks of that was way too long, and lets not forget the issue of the egg balloons making getting the Cherry Blossom DIYs in the northern hemisphere a nightmare before they patched it.

festivale is definitely my fav!! i loved seeing my villagers in their little outfits and dancing around lol

Bunny day is my favorite. Zipper is adorable and I loved collecting the eggs and crafting all the furniture. I also wasn’t in a hurry to advance the game back in April so it didn’t bother me that eggs were everywhere.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but Festivale might just be my favourite. I adore the furniture, and while I didn't care for the day in NL, I feel like it really came full circle for me, and I had blast catching feathers :) I also think I'll keep the Festivale items on my beach year round as an island night time party zone :D

you know, I don't know if I've ever seen someone say Bunny Day is their favorite before! I am very anti-Zipper but I love the spring coloring :)

ooh I love this tier list! and this has also made me realize how many events I have missed LOL. maybe I'll have to TT back to New Year's in particular, because I do love the fireworks!

agree that Bunny Day is ~cursed lol

I unfortunately didn't really play the game during fireworks shows in August. Now I regret it, although I'm also looking forward to seeing that this coming summer (I'm a Northern Hemisphere player). But I think that I'll like it because it's just a nice vibe to have. And for me, it really comes down to the feeling of the game during the events.

My all time favorite event thus far would have to be... Halloween! This really isn't a surprise for me, because it's my favorite holiday irl and I just love everything about that time. Spooky stuff, and fall colors, and starting to get ready for cozy times. I love the music, the way that villagers dress up, the decor... everything was pretty cool! And it's nice that it's only later on, starting at 5PM, and not all day long. So you can still do your normal stuff during the day before breaking out your own scary costume.

Halloween and Toy Day are probably my favorites. I love decorating for an event and those are the best when it comes to that. I took a break in the fall and didn't play enough to enjoy thanksgiving, but it looked fun as well.

i never thought i’d say this but currently, festivale is my favourite! despite not caring about festivale previously, i had fun today - the new reactions are so cute, the furniture’s super nice and i really enjoyed catching feathers! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Bunny day was my favourite
Not sure if it was because of the event or because the game was new and fresh, but I really liked how the event over lapped with everything you do.

It felt like an actual event and not a one and done type deal.
