Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.
I love pumpkin pie, I love all kinds of pie, my family makes this kind of pie called "Flapper Pie" and it's a family tradition, it's basically a custard pie with a meringue topping and it's really amazing. I also looooooooooove Hot Toddy's and Eggnog(already been drinking it since before Halloween as soon as it hit shelves), mulled cider is always delicious and makes the whole house smell amazing. I pretty much love all fall and winter seasonal things. I even love FRUITCAKE, yeah, that accursed atrocity every kid's show and Christmas movie or song told you was awful is actually really great if you make it right. My family makes it with gumdrops and dried pineapple and maraschino cherries, it's super moist (moistened with brandy) and nothing beats a thick slice of it heated up with some butter, it's literally so great!
I have an unhealthy addiction to Bigelow Pumpkin Spice Tea, it's my favorite tea of all time and I have been wanting to buy it in bulk for a while because I will go through a box in a week.
ALSO like all Thanksgiving side dishes are my fave, and I never have them any other time a year, we make some dank dinner rolls, I love green bean casserole as long as people don't RUIN IT with bacon, and sweet potatoes covered in gooey marshmallow is like... a serious weakness, I will destroy a pan of my family's recipe of sweet potato casserole. Also my mom makes these sage potatoes that are so aromatic and amazing, extra fluffy and just AMAZING and I love mixing like, all the side dishes together... like I LOVE when they touch and the flavors mix it's literally the best. Don't judge me.
Runeberg's tortes!! By far!! I really wish they were sold all year round. They're one of the best desserts I know! Even the store-bought things.
And my favorite seasonal drink's the Nordic version of mulled wine. There doesn't seem to be an English word for it, I've mostly seen it go by the Swedish name gl?gg/glogg. It's drank in winter, especially during December and Christmas.
Pumpkin pie! <333
I thought it tasted weird when I was little, but now that I'm 18 I just can't help but think...
Thanksgiving isn't Thanksgiving without it! <3333
OMG I have too many! Starting with fall, I will admit, I love me some pumpkin spice latte. Then for Thanksgiving my favorite foods are green bean casserole and then whatever bread we make with it (dinner rolls etc.). I prefer pecan pie to pumpkin (blasphemy, I know), but I will still always have a piece of pumpkin. I really enjoy anything pumpkin this time of year!
For Christmas, my mom makes a bunch of hors d'oeuvres on Christmas Eve. It's not holiday-themed but it's munchie stuff we like to eat, like taco dip, queso, bbq meatballs, chicken wings, cheese and crackers... And my favorite Christmas-y drink is eggnog, specifically eggnog chais from Starbucks. I could live off of those things (and then die from diabetes lol). I love all of the cookies and sweets at Christmas too. My ex-BF's mom was an amazing baker and I would be lying if I said I wasn't going to miss that this year ; v ;
