This topic is for all stationery addicts !

As the title asks, what kind of stationery do you enjoy collecting and what do you do with them? How did you start collecting them and why is it what you enjoy the most ?
Don't hesitate to show off your collection. (And mention if I possibly forgot some stationery in the poll)

For me my collection really depends of my current obsessions. I started collecting stickers and scraps in order to make some envelope art which quickly turned into an interest for penpaling so letter sets and writing supplies were my next stuff to get. I also like many have a few notebooks that are still empty because I don't know what to put inside or don't dare ruining it.

Right now what I own the most of is washi tape, but I also have some wax seal stamps - some that I designed, and a few antiques from the 19th century. I also have a huge collection of colored pens and I have no idea what to do with them aside watching the wonderful rainbow that is displayed on my desk.

pens/markers. It's mostly markers though. I have lots of different kinds of markers and pens that I've been collecting for years now!

i have sooo many stickers, almost everything i own has at least 1 sticker on it 💕
even my dollhouse, which my aunt took from me... never forget

but anyway, they're so cute and i just love to decorate stuff, plus most of the stickers i have are just legend of zelda, pokemon or hello kitty but i do have a massive totoro sticker on my bedroom wall, which is adorable 😊

Stickers (most of which I never use because they are too cute and then what?), writing paper/envelope sets (I like clean designs that give me lots of room to write), wax seals, and I forgot to click 'other', but I also have a small collection of glass dip pens. I don't use them too often, because ink gets expensive, but sometimes it's nice to break out the old-fashioned tools.

I have a bunch of blank books and journals, most of which haven't been written in (see stickers), but I've filled my share, too.

I love cute Japanese stationery! I tend to go crazy with stickers and mechanical pencils ahah. I also love collecting mini notepads, journals, erasers, pastel highlighters, pastel pens etc. Something about writing in a pretty journal with a pretty pen is so fun c:

I collected them more when I was younger and am so happy for my younger self cause now I've gotten into journaling and my collections of stickers, washi tapes, journals, and other stationary has really come in handy!!

I have so many notebooks and journals, but only some are in use. I love keeping notebooks on hand for writing down ideas and thoughts, but then I just let some of them sit because I fall out of the practice of doing that regularly.

I also collect various pens and pencils that I find interesting or cute and card/letter sets. One of my favorites is a set of blank cards based on famous paintings of fairies.

I would love to get into collecting wax seals and old-fashioned ink bottles and dip pens or quills, but I already spend too much money on other things I don't use. 😝

Ughhh, stationery and stickers are my weakness 😂 I also really love planners even though I never use them because I hate my handwriting. I’ve scaled back over the years because I don’t use most of it, but I had a kawaii box subscription last year and got a lot of cute little memo pads and sticker pouches and pens and stuff from that. I kept like, half of it and then my mom gave the rest to her sister’s grandchild. I love it though, I longingly look at the Doraemon Hobonichi planner from time to time, but I can’t justify buying it rn without a job 😭

I hoard too many stationary. Most washi tape and stickers. That said, please share where you get your stationary

Haha that's so relatable ! What are you supposed to do after you used them? Like, what if you wanted to use them for something else 😭
Sometimes when stuff are cheap (like some stickers sheet) I buy two of them, one to keep and look at and one to use. :')

It's less of a collection and more of a hoarding situation going on, i just can't seem to get rid of them.
^
But isn't it so satisfying to look at, only when the guilt of having purchased them fades for a little amount of time 😂

That's so cool. What's your go-to notebook size ? I find B6 way too big to carry around but smaller ones are, well, too small for me to feel comfortable writing in it. That's why the only solution I found was writing my ideas and thoughts in a personal discord server with different channels for different purposes.

I don't collect stationery anymore but I did when I was younger because I was really into penpalling and writing in journals. I also had a hugeee japanese sack sticker collection that I eventually gave away to my friend's kid lol. My favourite brand used to be artbox because of their cute characters and I really liked that jetoy brand with the cats (even though I didn't even like cats that much, I just liked illustrated stationery when it was becoming popular haha). I also loved san-x and sanrio stuff. A big chunk of my stationery collection consisted of rilakkuma, afro ken, badtz maru, and some others. Back when I grew up in Korea I must have gone to this place called Kyobo Book Centre like once a week so I could buy from different brands in the stationery section. Our local stationery shops also had really cute mechanical pencils with charms and stuff hanging off them although a lot of them were knock offs of characters I liked. Stationery was (still is) huge in Korea and I saw the stationery trends change over the years from having really cute characters to more boring simplistic stuff, and then again to more interesting illustrated designs. Anyways it was a fun time to collect stationery back then and I'm sure it's still fun now, I just don't really have much use for them anymore. I still have a lot of loose sheets stored in a box that I need to use but I don't want to touch because I feel like they are somewhat unique to an older era 😅 I also had a washi tape phase in 2016 and me and my room mate kind of covered parts of our apartment with sooo that was fun to remove lmao.

Used to collect stickers as a kid but since I no longer used them nor was it any nostalgia for me (it was basically cheap kid stickers nothing else) I gave them away. And while I don't collect stationery I do have a Tackey & Tsubasa stack in a folder that was a Lotte commercial thing they did as Johnny's Jr.'s.

I don't have a strict size that I stick with. I pick notebooks mostly for the pretty cover art, so they vary in size. I keep the bigger ones at home or use them at work. The smaller ones, I will carry around with me in my purse or a bag. I have some notebooks that are so tiny they literally fit in the palm of my hand, but I've never written in any of those. They just don't seem practical at all. I didn't buy the super tiny ones myself, though. They are usually stocking stuffers or freely distributed at work. But if I like their designs enough, I will prop them up as decoration around my desk.

I guess I collect stickers, mostly to put on my laptop but it ran out of space. I also have a lot of pens, pencils, markers, and especially erasers from over the years. My old friend and I would play with erasers a lot in school in fifth grade and made our own characters based on them so admittedly they were kind of a big part of my life. And I don't really collect journals themselves but I've been keeping a journal for six years and I have all of them.

I love notebooks. I always start them and never finish them but I just keep buying more. D:

Waaah, I can spend hours in the stationery department of Kinokuniya. 😍

Any kind of pretty paper attracts me. I love paper. Even if I didn't have immediate plans for it, I can't resist and must bring it home. Right now I have a few thousand squares of origami paper on my bookshelf. (It sounds ridiculous but they're pretty compact and don't take up much space.) I do modular origami, so they get used up fast. I'm also on a mission to fold 1,000 cats, and I'm over 100 at the moment, it's so much fun making pretty paper cats every day.

Also notebooks and sketchbooks. I doodle, so I use those. Soft pencil cases make me happy. I have too many pens for them. I use pens of different colours when I write or doodle. My current favourite ones are the Zebra Sarasa clip pens. Orange, blue, navy, purple, green, brown, black are my staples. For doodling, the Sakura Pigma Micron archival ink pens.

I tend to get blissfully lost in any shop selling stationery or art supplies, which is why I always go to these places by myself. (So I don't have to worry about whoever I'm with getting completely bored.) I spend hours just browsing and thinking of the possibilities. What can I make with this? What can I make with that? That's the fun part of stationery shopping! The sheer range and variety of even the "simple" stuff like tape, glue, clips, scissors, etc, especially from Japan, boggles my mind. I sometimes end up not buying anything because I can't decide. Too many choices! They're all good! I need everything! 😅

I don’t necessarily collect these, but I do have a fair amount of notebooks/journals. I have two empty notebooks that are on reserve for journaling even though I’m only halfway done with my current journal. LOL

Then I have about 3 lightly used, spiral bound sketch pads that are designated for certain projects. Come to think of it, I need to use them more often.

Finally, I have an empty black sketch book that I probably bought for an art class back in college, but didn’t end up needing it. I should’ve gotten rid of it already but it’s so professional looking.

I used to collect stationary as a kid, starting with those tiny animal erasers and Lisa Frank, and when I visited Tokyo a few years ago, I bought a ton of stationary so I now have a bit of a collection. I also like to collect neat stickers for my laptop, though I'm out of space at this point.

I don’t really collect stationary anymore as I’ve not really had as much use for it with finishing school quite a few years ago and not really needing it the same for work but I used to love collecting it when I was young. My main interest was pens and notebooks, I’d spend ages choosing the right style of pen whenever I was out and then picking out numerous colours before I’d then spend just as long choosing the perfect notebook. These days I probably don’t have a lot of my favourite pens anymore as I think they’ve mostly run out of ink but I still have all my old notebooks that contain all my writing and doodles from childhood so it’s really nice looking back at them all when I get free time :giggle:
