What New species of villager would you like to see?

I want bats, but if they do add bats, do you think they should look like microbats, megabats, or a mix of the two?

(Microbats are the little bats with big wrinkly noses and smushed faces, megabats are the big bats with longer muzzles and a fox-like face.) Microbats are more likely, they're what most people think of when they hear the word bat, but I'm hoping that if they are added, they look like megabats or like a mix of the two!

Also I'd love for a second version of cat or bunny, kinda like how there are both bears and cubs. Maybe a longhair cat or a lop ear bunny? Yeah I'd like lop ear bunnies...

i would personally love to see microbats, i find them cuter in general but they'll also be a great contrast from our current villagers - megabats would likely look too much like the wolf villagers or the deers, or a cross between them. if you look up "animal crossing bat villagers" you'll see a lot of great fake villager fanart and most if not all are based off microbats.

bats would be so cool!! i know we have owl NPCs but i'd love to have owl villagers (same goes for foxes!!) maybe leopards or panthers would be cool but maybe we have too many feline villagers already...

Bats would be cool, but I’d love to see owl villagers xD maybe based more on the barn owl family so they’re much more visually distinct from Blathers and Celeste? (Plus, who can resist an in-built little heart shaped face?)

Bats! Bats bats bats! More bats! Also maybe some more mythical animals! Different types of dragons, werewolves, kraken...Ooh! Maybe they could introduce some ponies? And one of them could be a shetland pony?? *Dies of cuteness* I also second the suggestions of owls and raccoons.

I would like to see a dragon villager with cute little wings on their back. My favorite ones that I voted for are wolves and squirrels. I also like the pointy ears on the cats, even though I prefer dogs in real life.

I'm honestly on the bat train, too lmao. But personally, I'd also really love to see a spider villager type and/or more aquatic species, though I don't think either would be very likely, sadly. Still, I think it'd be cute if we had, like, shark villagers. Or whales. Or fish. Just walkin' around on their fins. But I guess the character models might look a little off? Which is why I don't think it'd be very likely. And I worry spiders might look too similar to octopi?

That being said, octopi are def my fav villager type haha.

i dont know if it would be messed up for there to be a beetle villager, but then again we have octopus and you can dive for one, so i dont know if thats so weird. imagine their cute little mandibles...

Oh! Beetles! I could see how they could be cute af. Like different kinds of beetles? With little antennae? So cute. But I think I’d be afraid to play the game if there were spider villagers. Even really cute spiders. I dunno. But on that note, I guess some people are afraid of bats and beetles, so.

Call me a purist, but I don't want to see villager types of NPCs we already have. For example, I don't want sloth villagers because we have Leif. I liked that special villagers generally have special species to go with them (or a special design, as in Isabelle and Harriet). Besides, there are plenty of unique species not incorporated into the series that can be made into villagers.

I love some of the ideas in this thread with bats, ferrets, wombats, lizards, snakes even. I think dragons would be interesting to, but they would be hard to model (their wings would have to stick out of the back of any clothes they wore) and they would make Drago lose his appeal.

I would LOVE to have bat villagers, I think that they could be so cute, with their wings and pointy ears! Another one I would love would be fox villagers. Out of the current villagers though, I think my favorites are the wolves and the cats. They're just so adorable!

I saw some mentions about sharks and now I'd be curious to see how shark villagers would look! They'd be a fun thing to see also because I already like sharks to begin with.

Unpopular opinion here, but I don't really want bats or lizards or stuff like that... but if people want them, I say brng them in! I won't be having them in my town though...

I'd like to see a different model for dog villagers. I dislike the current one and there's so much variety with NPCs, like Booker and Copper and Isabelle and Digby... why not different breeds?

Also, there's mini bears (cubs), so why not mini cats (the Katie model maybe?), mini tigers, etc?
