What was the first anime you watched that got you into animes?

I was wanting to give anime a try so I looked up popular/need to see anime and ended up watching Death Note. But technically the first anime that I watched before I knew what it was was One Piece when it played in the U.S. on TV. That was when I was really young too, but I watched Death Note when I was like 13 or so.

I mean, I watched Sailor Moon and Pokemon not realizing they were anime. The first anime I watched where I knew it was anime was either InuYasha, or Spirited Away.

Probably Tokyo Mew Mew. I watched a few episodes although I was much more interested in the manga.

I'm not a huge anime fan but the first one I ever watched all the way through was Mekakucity Actors. It was pretty confusing but I enjoyed it.

Sailor Moon, Pokemon and Ojamajo Doremi. Loved to watch these shows back when I was a kid.
