Another thread got me thinkin about this. Basically the title, weather it's a local thing or just plain weird like a scorpion in a lollipop. I'm not making that up.

So far I've had-
Deer (only had a small bite to try, won't be eating again)
Duck
Frog
Snail (really good btw)
Alligator (also really good but it's pretty much only fried)
Lamb (can never eat again)
Goat cheese (reaallly good in a ceasar salad)

I’ve eaten kangaroo, crocodile, emu egg and balut egg off the top of my head, the latter two I wouldn’t eat again. Also I feel like duck and lamb are pretty regular? Here at least they are.

The heck how, kangaroo? How th do you even go about eating that? Also the heck is a balut? I guess a bird?

Yeah I realize some of these foods mentioned above are regular foods for other people, like duck for Britain/UK/England? I forget. Alligator could be a regular from really southern people, lamb in other regions. Which is why I included 'weather local' cause the foods I listed are NOT normal for here.

I've eaten alligator, frog, and goat cheese. Goat cheese we almost always have in the house and I will literally eat it by the fork full. I didn't like frog, and I could eat SO MUCH alligator I'd actually explode.

balut, stella, if I am correct, is a fertilized duck egg, eaten while the chick is partially formed inside! Its heinous to me but it's sold very often in southeast asia, and as a street food in the Phillippines!

Is deer, duck, lamb and goat cheese that weird?

Living in Canada where there are still a lot of hunters:

I would say that deer, moose, duck, partridge, hare are pretty common (in some regions bears and seals are also popular)
Lamb and goat cheese are also common...
Frog legs are common in Chinese buffets
Snails in French restaurants or any groceries
Pork tongues in taverns

The weirdest for me, was porcupine.

Probably octopus gut and liver... didn’t like either of them, lmao

Nooo, I could never eat balut ; _; That's so sad.
And yes, a fellow alligator eater. And I always forget that one time I had frogs legs.

Well the ones I've listed are not normal where I'm from. I'm in a very city type place surrounded by Spanish speaking people. LOTS. So I'm not really put in the country or wilderness or even a true southern region to be eating these foods regularly.

I've eaten snake and shark. I am glad that I will never eat either of these again as I love them both dearly.

being veggie/mostly vegan I haven’t and have no desire to try most “weird” foods haha; I have had goat’s cheese before and it was quite nice!

Is goat cheese really that weird (Just saw someone said this already, whoops)? I have considered trying it, but it apparently has quite an interesting smell and taste. I have heard lamb and duck is quite good, even deer. Though, I am quite fearful for people who have deer due to Chronic Wasting disease.

I'm a vegetarian, so I don't really do the weird meat thing, but I have had buffalo mozzarella, and then last year I got my friend chocolate covered crickets as a joke, and she said she'd eat them if I did lol

the crickets aren't terrible, but they have a really... unsettling? texture lmao

Goat cheese and lamb arent even remotely weird lol. Yall need to go out to eat more.

I had frog legs, chickens hearts, cinnamon sugar crickets (taste like popcorn), stuffed cow tongue (my grandma used to make it), calf brain fritters with garlic sauce (my grandma also makes this), and ive had chicken gizzard soup. Puerto Ricans cook with a lot of instestines lol.

I?ve had deer it?s really good. We eat it often here, in a big hunter area. So it?s not too weird for us! I?ve had frog legs but I think it?s eh. I?ve eaten squid, turtle soup, octopus, and a few other oddities that I actually like. Haven?t had alligator but was offered once, just wasn?t feeling it at the time. I?m not too big on trying odd foods because I usually try to eat healthier foods at home that I make, so usually only eat different foods if I?m going out to eat at a restaurant or something.

I'm not sure if this counts as a weird food (because I never tried it before) but I had Arancini rice balls. Sadly, it wasn't a good experience because of its lack of flavour.

Coconut water. Taste like yogurt really nice, after a while it becomes too sickly and horrible.

Okay yeah goat cheese may not be so weird, it's just not common where I live. Same as lamb, not as common as like turkey, chicken, cow, ect...

Alot of the foods I've listed in the first post I've had at food festivals of some sort, if not all of them.
