Just want to hear what other people think haha.

I was really happy to see Chief show up, and I think the default house interiors actually look pretty nice this time around.

On the other hand, I'm not too huge on the current ambiguity of the cloud save/backup system. Between the reupload and rumors from news accounts I don't really know what to make of all of it.

I didn't really care for the amiibo segment, since I don't own any. Instead they could've shown us more shops or some more terraforming.

my favourite part definitely was the terraforming/path making tool!

Th Q/A section was weak and those questions too. They felt too fake.

Some of my thoughts:

I didn’t like that they didn’t show a lot of decorating inside the house and the house expansions. I would have loved to see more of that since it’s what I mostly do now.

I don’t like the whole phone thing and apps thing they have going on now.

The rescue team put a smile on my face (I’m glad Resetti is back).

I didnt like Flick.

The museum looks amazing.

I really liked that they showed all of options we have with customizing the island with furniture outside.

Favorite: Everything (regarding the game)

Least: Having to beg to get your save file restored once

I really don't get why they're so adamant about preventing hacking to the point of hurting regular players, like it's a singleplayer game who cares what other people do with it. You're inconviencing millions of players just to stop hundreds from cheating.

Also agree that the FAQ wasn't genuine, I wouldn't be surprised if they hid something negative.

Favourite? Island Designer section. The Terraforming reveal had me foaming at the mouth nearly.

Least favourite? Part 3, the FAQ section. It felt very off and unnecessary. The information in this could have easily have been scattered throughout the Direct.

My favourite part was probably being able to move buildings after you place them. Also the terraforming features and villagers holding more interactable objects.

My least favourite part was the postcards in the airport, because I like Pete, Pelly and Phyllis....and this brings up the question if they'll even have a role in New Horizons.

Terra-forming was my favorite.

The bit where they're still not going to support cloud saves is my least favorite. Yeah you can restore your data- ONCE. It makes me feel a little stressed about the game before I've even touched it

Major Positives:

  • terraforming / relocating of buildings
  • varieties of meeting and inviting Villagers

Major Negatives:

None really, except—like others have said too—the disappointingly lacking Q&A. I was really hoping they'd answer actual questions we all have, like what the villager limit is for example. Or maybe offer some transparency into why events will be added later on.

Minor Positives:

  • livelier villagers with cute animations
  • beautiful exteriors, and comparatively much nicer interiors, of villagers' houses
  • ability to place shops and facilities directly in town
  • transparent paths

Minor Negatives:

  • it seems like Able Sisters' sells many more items than just the ones on display
  • replacement of several NPCs with younger ones
  • focus on the nook phone and apps (still not the biggest fan)

Neutral but funny:

  • the museum exterior looks more like a mausoleum to me
  • When Tom Nook says he's been advertising and has "found several interested parties" for the Island, it sounds like he potentially abducted them xD

My favourite part was that we don't have to live with our choices forever. I'm such a nervous wreck, I can't even decide what I want in a restaurant because the other options could taste better. Choosing for a face, a town map, the place of my house or the caf? and all those things were NERVE-WRECKING to say the least. A month from release I was already anxious on how long it would take me to settle for a map and start the game. In New Leaf, I deleted my town (for which I already had to reset hours and hours) after a week because I couldn't live with some super small things that felt off to me (like a weirdly shaped pond or something similarly small).

It was a huge relief that I didn't know I wanted when I heard that almost no decision in New Horizon has to be final. That I can change the minor flaws of a map, relocate my house if I wanted and so on. I don't even want to terraform my whole island, I just like the ability to adjust some small details.

Wait, what was with the fountain?! :D I might have to go look now

Broccolo seemed to think a fountain being outdoors was really weird. Villagers definitely have somewhat more unique dialogue this time around.

Favorite would be everything. I don't really see anything bad about the game to be honest. The only thing I don't like is the cloud save part. I mean, asking to get your save file back? Why can't we just download it onto the new system if our old system breaks? I rather do that than ask for permission, but until we see more details on it, I'm not going to judge too much. ;)

I loved seeing Nate in the trailer and I want to make a lot of waterfalls. I like how you get the nook miles with the goals to pay off your house which is great because I'm the .... worst. I always forget to pay off my loans to Tom Nook in my current town XD I don't really like how they've replaced a lot of the NPCs and that Isabelle's part in the series seems to be so minor. I looooove her and I want more of her

I think terraforming and the fact that the villagers seem to have more personality to them was my favorite.

My least favorite was probably the part where they answered questions. I feel like most of that information was already available, when really what a lot of us wanted to know was about character limits on our island name or how many villagers we will be able to have.

i'm surprised no one's mentioned holidays being DLC instead if coming straight out of the box. that was absolutely the worst part of the direct for me. no internet? no holidays for you, nerd!

Actually, IIRC, your house construction (should you choose to build one) costs Bells still. The Miles you pay are for the getaway package itself. If I were to guess, you probably won't get the Nook Stop terminal until you pay off your getaway expenses.

Favorite part was the museum.
That looked really nice, especially the sharks.

The bugs on the islands looked great on trees, and flying around.

Least favorite was the Nook Phone and apps, plus holidays being DLC, and the players hair looks like plastic.
