What word can you never spell correctly on the first attempt?

Necessarily. I consider myself good with spelling but that one I always misspell. I always want to add a second ‘c’ lol

Also, the word nauseous. I have no idea how to spell it, I just let autocorrect figure it out

Thank the heavens I am not the only one embarrassed about butchering the word embarrass! Do you get Cincinnati wrong too?? "Oh golly is it the N or the T I double???" I was in the state spelling bee as a child and still get these wrong.

Thankfully I never come across Cincinnati, but I had to google it to make sure it was spelled correctly. I could also see myself struggling with Mississippi if I wasn't assigned that state for my project in primary school.
What a coincidence!! I was also in the spelling bee, but I think I only made it to district/county/regional one, forgot which.

I grew up believing it was spelled “pidgeon” (and not pigeon) because of Pokémon. So, even after learning the word, in fact, is lacking a “d”, I continue to spell it as such.

It's soo silly, and I don't know why it works, but I think "de-fin‐it" then I am fine remembering the -ely. I hope it works for you, but I would totally understand if not! I'm not sure how it works for me! (Now that I type it out like that, it looks like I'm talking about fish in a horrible manner).

Oh my goodness I didn’t even realize how it could seem like you’re talking about fish until you said that lol but I’ll keep this in mind! Remembering the -ely bit isn’t too tricky it’s the bulk of the word that confuses me. I think I try to put an e where there shouldn’t be lol so breaking it up into small bits will help!

Aside from nearly every word on this thread, I always stumble on restaurant. Whenever I have to type the word on Google I spell it as “resteraunt.” Thankfully autocorrect is finally noticing my error.
