To change up the topic a bit, what's something you don't wish to see return in Animal Crossing Switch?

For me, I'd hate to see grass deterioration return, but that's very likely to come back. Sure, it adds a sense of realism, but you can't deny it's an annoying feature.

I love the grass deterioration return, but that's just my opinion.
* Happy Home Showcase because I did not use it once
* The same dialogue problems
* Not so cranky 'cranky' villagers
* The ordinances in the same way as they are now. Everyone chose beautiful anyway because it has the most benefits

Being Mayor. It was gimmicky, and you couldn?t do much. I prefer Tortimer being the Mayor.

Not having any say in where villagers put the items that you give.
There should be an option in the lines of them not being able to decide, and then after picking to help, you go into the HHD editor to place it. You could also just put it in their music player if it's a song you don't want displayed, or a shirt dressed on a villager instead of it being displayed.

I think the amount of "time-bloat" is just a tad too much in Animal Crossing (I've only ever played New Leaf, so take this with a grain of salt!)

If you talk to a villager with a delivery, you get a whole menu where only one thing is selectable. You already said you wanted to give the delivery, so just let me do it in one go!

If you have two spots left in your inventory, and you want to collect fruits you need to:
  • Collect the first two
  • Open up your inventory
  • Stack the fruits
  • Close the inventory
  • Collect the third one
  • Open the inventory again
  • Stack the last fruit with the others
I think just having the fruit "search" for a stack would be a great addition!

Tools take up a lot of precious space in the inventory, it'd be better to move them in a different category of items!

Kapp'n sings for way too long, I know you can skip it, but instead of having to mash B, why not just have him ask if you want him to sing? Mashing B if you selected singing is optional.

Rotten fruit should look different from perfect fruit, there's too much confusion every time I try to stack them (maybe have them look like the dubious food from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild?)

Despite all my pet peeves, I'm absolutely loving the game so far! It's really nice to be able to chill out and take it slow while walking around in my town, even though I think everything could be *just* that little bit more streamlined.

To the other repliers:

I actually kind of like grass deterioration: it creates those "desire paths" that give a little bit of backstory, especially in real life!

Being mayor could also be better executed, I think having an editor not dissimilar from the HHD one would be a great addition. The whole thing of walking around with Isabelle (or Tom Nook in the beginning) has a bit too much trial and error if you want to get something in a specific spot.

The current villager move in system should not return, especially voided villagers moving in. Blah, we need more power over map customisation and placement.

The way-too-friendly villagers New Leaf has. While the villagers from the old AC games were
at least able to represent their personalities right, the NL villagers however got too watered
down, which sucks to be honest. So yeah... Bring back the rude villagers please.

Also, the Happy Home Showcase doesn't need to come back in any new form. Never really
used it. Just give the poor guy Digby a better job where he doesn't need to stand outside
the whole time...

couldn't agree more, it's like in new leaf every villager has the same personality. i want my villagers to absolutely TRASH me

- - - Post Merge - - -

- ridiculous shop unlock requirements (shampoodle was hard enough to get, and remember how long it takes to unlock opposite gender haircuts?)
- overly nice, 2 dimensional villagers
- lack of control over your villager's clothing + furniture in their house (sick of villagers randomly selling stuff + getting new stuff in their houses)
- put and end to the 16 villager cycle... literally nobody wanted that...
- harry and jambette
- villagers moving out without permission

Easy enough for me to answer:

-Grass Wear (The game's enemy #1)

-The Void system (Enemy #2)

-The Unpredictable move-in/out system

-The public works project villager request system

-Permanent Rocks, Buildings, Ponds, and works projects - let us move them eventually.

-Overly quick ways to earn tons of bells, like the island beetle farming and town selling

-Overly hidden, context-activated dialogue

-The same, unmodified diving mechanics from New Leaf

-Club LoL - K.K. Slider should come back to the roost, or some other venue.

-The cliffs that separate the mainland from the beach

-Unorderable items that are exclusively tied to amiibo cards to get

-Probably controversial: The train station and train tracks in town need to go. They make the town feel too industrial, and less woodsy.

I don't know if I posted it, but I believe the reason why the NL dialogue is pleasant (almost to the point of annoyance) is that you are a public authority figure, and being nasty to a person like that doesn't seem right (unless they really deserved it)

That's just my take on it

But I would like Cranky and Snooty villagers to be mean at first, but they start warming up to you, NL they get real cozy with you pretty quickly, almost to the point they've known you for years

as a person who lives in america, being nasty to public authority figures is a daily thing lol

I always feel bad for him.... poor digby T-T

I almost forgot! Something I absolutely DESPISE is the manual saving. I'm of the opinion that every game should save data as much as possible, always! I was just in BappieNL's town when the connection broke, and when the screen returned I was in my own town without any of the stuff I had collected! And her town reset as well! That is something which I think can be improved in the switch version: saving is probably way faster, because of the faster console.

Also, when talking while someone else is entering/leaving a building, the message won't be displayed on their screen. WHY?! Just have them always on top! And why do we get to write so few characters? I want to write more than ? of a sentence, you know!

I agree with having an auto save. Some people may say they want to be able to manual save to reverse mistakes but AC has always encouraged living with consequences anyway so I think it'd be kinda good if the autosave was enabled by default and you had to turn it off. Maybe Resetti wouldn't come if you had autosave enabled and would only come if you turned off the game on manual mode.

Personally I wish having one time use public work projects, such as the police station should go. Or at least have the option to remove them.

Or just being able to move them in general, it's the only thing left I can justify hacking for. (Just like with villager's houses)

Honestly, I don?t like how in New Leaf items are unorderable. I can understand that there is good in unorderables such as them being rare in a way so users can sell them to make profit BUT there?s also a downside to unorderables. For one, users such as myself who want to create a cataloguing/selling shop sometime in the future don?t want to have lots of unorderables just taking up storage. If all items were orderable, not including DLCs unless you obviously have the DLC downloaded, it would just make Animal Crossing life much easier.

I don't want the rolling world effect to return that's been a staple of the series since the Nintendo DS days. I want a 3D third-person perspective like in Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The missing menu:

turn music on/off,
auto save yes/no,
voice chat yes/no

Also the restriction for being online (balloons, bugs etc)
