• Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.

What's something you DON'T want to return?

NL is my first AC game but I've learned that in other games you could have 16 villagers living in the town - not just 10. I'd love to have more permanent villagers! The campground is nice but we don't really get to interact with the visiting villager or NPC (like play games or see them walking around town like a tourist). I'd like to see the ten villager limit go.

To change up the topic a bit, what's something you don't wish to see return in Animal Crossing Switch?

For me, I'd hate to see grass deterioration return, but that's very likely to come back. Sure, it adds a sense of realism, but you can't deny it's an annoying feature.

Grass wear was much worse in City Folk than in New Leaf though.

I really hope they spice up the dialogue and other things for the normal villagers. Every time I talk to them I feel like I'm hearing a broken record on repeat, and it really sucks because most of my favourites are normal types.

I do not want it if "you play at least an hour, the villager says you need get some rest / mention eyebags".
Examples: Snooty villager says, "Did you watch zombie movies? Because you look like one."
Peppy villager says, "Your body is like a battery! And don't forget to recharge it a little!" or "What happened to the spark in your eyes?! You look all tuckered out!"

I think I'd like better/more straightforward avatar customisation. Having to look up the little guide every time you visit Shampoodle's is kind of tedious. It would be nice to be able to just select your options/preview them. Especially if you can only change it once a day!

heres my unnecessary addition

- pls give me actual mean cranky villagers again,,, i miss ww apollo
- same goes for resetti,,, i actually used to fear seeing him and would always make sure to save my game LOL, but now whenever i see him he's way too chill
- the villager cycle please just god stop
- no one cares about HHS, digby seemed happier working for nook IN the office anyways
- please someone give me an auto-save feature, per smonikkims, ''AC has always encouraged living with consequences''

can't think of more right now, but will probably add to this

Sadly, this won't be removed as its considered to prevent what is called, and to reference a trope, "anti poop socking", its a way to speak to players that are so engrossed in their games that they negate to take care of themselves.

Honestly, in NL, you can prevent this by saving, quittingg and coming back

Some of us aren't that bad and can walk away for a while, but some just can't.

-And at least get nicer as I get to know you, you know character development? (but still reverts to their cranky selves ever so often because they care....goodness, that sounds cheesy, uh... still keep them as they are, only nice to you once they are your friend, they have nieces if i remember...)

-Probably not as if the "high blood pressure" was mentioned, he's not going to get infuriated but still mad

-You mean the 16 villager cycle? it can be bypassed if you have the respective amiibo card (but I get what you mean)

- The only reason HHS exists is for streetpasses, so its guaranteed not to come back as it is (and you mean from HHD right?)

- No autosave feature... people would hate it. trust me, it works in some games, but not all

I can't think of a list rn, I might come back later to follow up on my response but for now...
-remove random move in places

I can't stand getting some beautiful hybrids only to see them disappear because of a house. I've had some hybrids that are difficult to breed completely wrecked because a villager decided to move there.

Reasonable, but you realize with the update, If you put down “paths” where you don’t want them, they don’t move on top of them, right? (Or as someone mentioned somewhere on the board if we become mayor again, let us decide where they put their home, in reality, you have to do this anyway when building)

I really hope that grass deterioration is less harsh in AC 2019 too. I like the concept of grass getting worn down overtime due to running and/or walking on it, but it's really just a pain to wait for it to grow back.
Villagers randomly moving in places would be another one, I don't know how many times I had a flower garden destroyed because of a plot. ;n;

I love the grass deterioration return, but that's just my opinion.
* Happy Home Showcase because I did not use it once
* The same dialogue problems
* Not so cranky 'cranky' villagers
* The ordinances in the same way as they are now. Everyone chose beautiful anyway because it has the most benefits

Showcase is not likely to return because no StreetPass.

Being Mayor. It was gimmicky, and you couldn?t do much. I prefer Tortimer being the Mayor.

It'll be back.

Easy enough for me to answer:

-Grass Wear (The game's enemy #1)

-The Void system (Enemy #2)

-The Unpredictable move-in/out system

-The public works project villager request system

-Permanent Rocks, Buildings, Ponds, and works projects - let us move them eventually.

-Overly quick ways to earn tons of bells, like the island beetle farming and town selling

-Overly hidden, context-activated dialogue

-The same, unmodified diving mechanics from New Leaf

-Club LoL - K.K. Slider should come back to the roost, or some other venue.

-The cliffs that separate the mainland from the beach

-Unorderable items that are exclusively tied to amiibo cards to get

-Probably controversial: The train station and train tracks in town need to go. They make the town feel too industrial, and less woodsy.

No more pitfall traps :(

The PWP request system definitely needs an overhaul.

And I hate unorderable items. Like, this is a ****ing LAMP. Let me order it. I get unorderable holiday items but a lot of stuff should be made orderable.

AND PITFALLS WILL BE BACK.

The watered down personalities of all of the different villager personalities. I am sure that that has been said a myriad of times already, though, lol. Also, I could not agree more about grass deterioration! That is such an annoying thing. I love making paths with it but man, it’s so easy to make the entire town look like it’s more dirt than grass, no matter how carefully you walk.
Also? I hear people saying that they really want it to be like older games but I really don’t want the Able Sisters/Post Office/Nook store to be freestanding. I doubt that that would happen at all but if it did I would be irked. I just like it all being together! Like a little town square.

I hope the crappy music from NL is replaced with a more unique soundtrack!

In what way is the NL soundtrack crappy? A lot of people love ( unless you are talking about the hourly music in which I can understand how some of the music could have a better sound, but I do like the afternoon/evening music to early morning though in new leaf)

There will probably be new music for this installment like all others, but I wonder if they will allow us to change how is that hourly music sounds.

What I mean by this is changing it to older animal crossing titles of the past, kinda like how with wild world you could change how they sounded when you spoke to them, roughly the same concept. But I am no programmer so I don’t know how hard this would be to implement in game put this that’s just me.

I know this would never happen, but I'd love if they got rid of all existing furniture. If all of the furniture in the game was brand new (or at least re-designed), think how fun it would be to go shopping! We would actually look forward to seeing the new stock each day (much like most of us did in our first Animal Crossing game, whichever game you started with). It gets boring seeing the same furniture sets all the time, and that would really freshen things up.

I too really hate the amiibo exclusive items. Just so annoying, like if I buy it once, why can't I just order them again??

This would be such a cool idea! Having new furniture would definitely be cool. Actually my mom and I had a similar idea with choosing characters you play as. I mean, I love all the choices we have now, but some new face styles would be great too! It might give the game a new fresh way to play. :)

Also, I agree with everyone else on the grass deterioration. It was pretty bad in City Folk, but I would like to see a town with all grass instead of dirt patches. It would be much prettier. Plus the one thing I can't stand with New Leaf right now is the dialogue. It's just way to repetitive.

That's all for now. Might add more later too. :D
