What's that Nintendo game you can't really get into as other did.

I cannot get into Metroid games. Metroidvanias are one of my least favorite genres and this is the game that pioneered the genre. I don’t like the lack of direction and reliance on backtracking to progress. They feel like a way to pad out time rather than make the player have an enjoyable experience. I can’t speak for the Prime games, but 2D Metroid has clunky combat too. Whenever I want to aim in a specific direction I end up walking instead. Don’t even get me started on the jumping physics. Each jump doesn’t have as much momentum as other series, so it makes those platforming sections more irritating.

I’m glad other people can enjoy them, but I just can’t.
I agree. I bought Hollow Knight and almost went for the Metroid series. Glad I didn't because I'm just not crazy about Metroidvanias. I don't know about the Metroid series but Hollow Knight and Ori are just too zoomed out or something and with no music it's just bland. I want to like them but I feel like I'm squinting to play.

- tried the first one, didnt get very far. I dont like the controls, its kinda janky but then again it's an old game from the 90s.
To be fair, if by the "first one" you mean the original Super Nintendo game (it's difficult to tell because the series has compromised almost entirely of remakes of that game), then that game is nigh impossible to go back to, and has been that way for close to twenty years now. It's a game that, even as a fan of the series and as someone who mostly plays retro games in general, I am probably never going to play again, no matter how much nostalgia I may have for it. If you're a fan of the genre, I'd recommend Star Fox 64. It's not the most perfectly aged game, either, but it controls much smoother, and the graphics will not make your eyes completely numb after the first five minutes. If you don't like that, then... well, that's fair. But the Super Nintendo game is not the litmus test I would recommend using to see if you enjoy the series.

Though, if you do play 64 and end up liking it, then you'll then proceed to be upset at Nintendo's lengthy history of mismanagement. So either way, you can never find happiness with Star Fox.

For me it would have to be Splatoon. It just never really interested me for some reason. The characters look really weird, whatever plot is has is weird (spray turf with paint?!) and the online PvP seems too tedious for me to care.

Enjoyed OoT3D and MM3D but I just can't get into the other Zelda games, there's just not a lot of appeal for me. And Mario too of course since I don't like platformers at all.

Most Zelda games, except for a fews ones (like Minish Cap, ALttP, Link's Awakening, Oracle x2 etc.), Super Mario 64, modern Smash bros' games, Super Mario Odyssey.

Also a lot of stuff that are probably cross-platforms distributed but yeah I don't really get the thing of indie games these days.

I can't get into Splatoon either. I really wish I could because my friends all play it and I know I'm gonna feel left out when Splatoon 3 comes out. The characters are cute and the music slaps, but outside of that I just don't enjoy it. Shooters just aren't my thing :/

Some of these may be controversial.

  • Mario (Platformers and Mario Kart), Luigi, Wario, Yoshi
  • Pikmin
  • Kirby
  • Splatoons.
  • Pokémon

I just never go into the Mario hype, and Mario was my first game when I received a Gameboy color when they came out.

Pokémon is really hyped by both children and young adults, but I have never once had any interest for it. I don't know why.

I've never played Kirby or Pikmin games, and I fail to see why anything interesting about them.

Any of the 3D games. When the N64 came out I remember getting sick trying to play Mario 64. I can’t stand the graphics of N64. The only one I remember really getting the moneys worth was Goldeneye.

I also never liked the Splatoon games that much or a lot of the zelda games.

There’s also a lot of modern nintendo games that i just don’t put the time into. Rabbids, Splat, Mario Odyssey, or Paper Mario.

There are a lot of Nintendo games I do love though, i just wish i had more time to sink into them.

I just can’t get into Fire Emblem. Also got really bored with Pokémon Conquest. I cleared the entire game TWICE in one week and just didn’t enjoy it all that much.

Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS. The controls are too wonky in that game. It took me several tries to make it past the first battle. Ever since that game, I avoid digital downloads.

Mario games. I hate platform games in general because I suck at them. Almost all of the Mario games seem to be platform-like.

Splatoon - I think it's a bit overrated. I played the first one a bit, after a few games, I was so bored, had no desire to ever play it again. Only thing I like about it is it's aesthetic and uniqueness, but everything else was just flat out boring to me. Might have been the fastest I got bored playing a game possibly ever. I traded it in the next day.

Fire Emblem - Tried really hard to get into the series, but it's just not for me. Don't have any problems with it or anything, just simply not for me.

Pikmin - I really don't know why I can't get into it. I played a good chunk of 1 on the Wii re-release, and I genuinely liked it, but part of me was also somewhat bored at the same time. I'll probably get the new one and see if I change my mind about it. I think they are extremely interesting though.

Pokemon (after gen 5) - I could go on and on about this one, but for the sake of time, not a fan of the new special moves, Gigantamax, Mega Evolutions, just think it's way too much and totally not needed. The regional forms are definitely pretty cool though, I won't deny that.

Some of the Mario Sport games- Tennis, Golf. I don't know, maybe just not my thing.

Any of the RPGs outside of Paper Mario, just not my genre. I've never played Splatoon and I just ordered Splatoon 3 so I'm curious to see if I like it.

I agree with Splatoon. I understand its appeal, but it's something I've never wanted to invest time into.

Interesting that so many couldn’t get into Splatoon. I get it’s a very unique game and I’m someone who normally hates shooters with a passion but I love Splatoon. At the announcement of the first game I had no interest in playing it at all even though I loved the characters and music especially. Later I found out about a free limited time demo and figured why not. After playing a couple rounds of the demo I was hooked and the rest is history. :)

Everyone is different though so if you played it and it wasn’t for you then fair enough. I get it.

For me I couldn’t get into Zelda. Link isn’t all that of an interesting character imo and gameplay is not really for me. I’ve briefly played a couple of the games but never got far.

I also can’t get into classic 2D Mario platformers. The odd 3D Mario is ok (but pretty overhyped still) at least I see myself possibly going back and playing Odyssey or Galaxy again but no thanks to even touching one of the 2D games.

Honestly, a lot. ^^; I actually finished one Kirby game when I was younger (Super Star Ultra) and I remember having fun with it, but I never felt compelled to buy another, and I don't see myself ever replaying it.
I never got into Mario or Legend of Zelda either—I had New Super Mario Bros on DS and never finished it (I don't think I actually even made it that far in), as well as LoZ: Phantom Hourglass, which I also never finished. I know there's a lot of different Mario games out there and everything, but none of them have really appealed to me, and I just couldn't get into Zelda all that much.

There's a lot of other Nintendo franchises/games I'm just not that interested in for one reason or another, but I've left them off since I never really tried to get into any of them, in all fairness. Games are pricey though and I've still got a sizeable gaming backlog/wishlist to go through, so I don't see myself trying any of them in the near future.

The Legend of Zelda games and the Super Mario titles.

I don't know what it is about them but they're just not for me.

Some of the Mario Sport games- Tennis, Golf. I don't know, maybe just not my thing.
Same, aside for Mario Kart (sans 8/D, they're rather frap) I just don't get the appeal with sports games. Most controlling is really annoying and too co-ordination based for me.

Legend of Zelda games. I won't deny they're great games, too many people love them, but LoZ games just never got me that excited. I've played a few LoZ games to varying degrees... Link to the Past, Oracle of Seasons, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess... never got into it to completely finish any of them. I know, I'm missing out on Ocarina, Majora's Mask, BotW... maybe I'll try again some day

smash bros
- everytime I tried to play smash I get bored. I'm not super into fighting games so I dunno why I keep getting them
I completely agree! But honestly I played with 3ds and I think the problem was that I couldn't be too violent because I was damn scared that the scroll pad would fly off... if I could play it on Wii U or Switch I would probably have a lot of fun without paranoia.
Another game that I don't particularly like is Zelda BOTW, I loved the Zeldas for Nintendo 3ds but this one on Switch, despite having EVERYTHING, enjoyed me less, perhaps because it's very demanding while those for 3ds suited my stressful routine and didn't require that I applied a lot after a busy day.
Also growing up I began to find Mario games less amusing, even though I played a lot with the nice plumber (I still love Mario kart and Mario party though)
