What's the best way to plant hybrids?

Sorry, that title might be a little confusing. ;v; I'll elaborate a bit.

I have a few blue roses, and I'd like to breed them to make more. What's the best way to plant them to make more? Plant them, so their touching diagonally, or in rows?.. Does it even matter?

I do a checkerboard grid (like your first one) and have good results, especially if you plant fertilizer in between flowers.

My yown, Paradise, is filled with Hybrids, they multiply really quickly with this method,

J = Jacob' Ladder (optional)
F = Fertilizer (optional)
O = empty space

This formation maximizes the impact of your fertilizer and Jacob's ladders and gives you a lot of possible breeding pairs. I get 4-6 blue roses per day using this.

Yes, thank you for the scheme! I'm going to try it out and hopefully speed up the process! I get random hybrids blossoming because I always water all my flowers I placed in dirt patches. I really just want my grass to grow back!

I don't know if anyone else does this, but I plant most of my hybrids in a border around the edges of town. They can't be destroyed by someone moving in, and I've had a lot of success doing it this way (though I don't have blue roses yet). When I water all my blue pansies (which now make up the entire border on the bottom half of my town) I'll get 3-5 new ones the next day :3 Any hybrids that aren't part of the border go around pwps and villagers houses where they also can't be destroyed.
