I rarely get random streetpasses in my town. For a while, a couple of years ago, I could get a pass or two now at then at McDonald's. Then that stopped. Last year, I discovered Home Depot. I was a frequent visitor. National or International Streetpassing events were so much fun. A short trip through Home Depot would pull in 20 or even 30 passes from around North America or the world. But, in the last event, there was nothing at Home Depot, not even the regulars I'd pass once or twice a week. Since that time, I have not had a single streetpass from any relay spots I have visited. A friend of mine in a big city a few hours away has had a similar experience. What is the point of national or international streetpassing when there are no working relay points. I had been enjoying a couple of plaza games regularly, but at a limit of earning ten play coins per day there is not much action available for each game. Is there anywhere good for streetpassing using relay points anymore? I am thinking it would not be worth it to purchase any more plaza games at this point. Naturally, I have no Showcase homes to add to my Animal Crossing game and I was really wanting to earn the badges for that. It's too bad, I really enjoyed this aspect of the 3DS.

wow lol Home Depot, would have never thought have to look there . Guess that just goes to show you , leave no rock under turned in quest
for Street passing, thxs for tip ill take walk in there see if i vet any.

So, you apparently came from Canada, right?

I remember hopping on a Canadian McDonald's to get some StreetPass from the last fellow who went there, up until around mid-2014 or so. I heard that Home Depot used to host StreetPass Relay as well, but it's now a thing of the past.

There are still StreetPass Relays in Canada. Best Buy and major airports powered by Boingo Wireless are the only places you could rack up some StreetPass tags.

Not really sure if Boingo Wireless still does streetpasses; I was at an airport in May and didn't get any....

Universities are usually a good place to hit up (during the school year, anyway - I usually got 5 or so every day back when school was around). My brother was at a con in May and he said a ton of people had the 3DS's out.

But otherwise if I'm just going to the mall or something like that, I don't get any streetpasses either :/

As posted in earlier thread, I'd try like game stores or something, sometimes the employees have their available or they have demo ones set up or stuff... Or just go to cons/events?

Idek about Nintendo Zone and stuff cause that one seems kinda down in Sweden unless there are very specific areas or demands cause I never get crap to work.

I'm from Canada and at best I can pull in about 5 streetpasses maximum from a walmart parking lot. I don't seem to have any luck anywhere else. On any given day I would get an average of 0-2 streetpasses when I do take my 2ds out with me.

Also yeah tourist areas in your town/city might work as well sometimes you are lucky and someone random pulls their out for a walk

I usually get one or two street passes at the mall or when I go to Game Stop. I think I got one at a Walmart too. So yeah, try going to your local video game store, or the mall, or just a place where lots of people gather in your town; someone's bound to be carrying a 3DS on them in those kinds of places.

i feel like no one brings their ds anywhere anymore, so i get like a streetpass every 3 months

Yeah I went to this electronics store named webhallen yesterday and I got like 7 hits, but it's p much in the middle of town and lotsa kiddos hang around so ye.

I carry my 3DS all the time. I have got one in a Wal-Mart parking lot and one at the local High School. But Home Depot was a small but steady supply. I managed to collect all my puzzle pieces with a year of regular visits to Home Depot. There is a game store nearby and now that someone mentioned it, I have got a pass or two in there, so I must go past it more often.

Also I have a older DS XL that fall apart bit by bit even though I was very careful with it. Eventually the top screen went blank. I suppose I could charge it up and pass whatever Mii as last out to play. It might be good for some of the games. I cannot change shirt colour though.

I travelled to Toronto one year and went to Fan Expo. That was a treasure trove of streetpasses.

Yeah, those expo/con/fair whatever that has something related to games or Japan in general usually bring alot of people as long as you remember to check em out!

I recently got a new console, well old 3ds xl so I have to regain all the hats and stuff but tbh I don't mind cause I didn't progress so much as I should anyways haha. (you can move your NNID but unless you use hax stuff you need to get all the Miis and hats and stuff again; you can however re-download your purchased Plaza games such as fishing, zombies etc. but you need to do everything again).

With the advent of Pokemon Go lately people have been swapping their 3DS systems for their phones, but hopefully they'll swing back when the novelty wears off. StreetPass in the meantime is going to take a hit as people play less on their 3DS and more on their phone, but I suspect it'll be picking back up once Sun and Moon hit. As far as getting tags before then, your best bet is with large gatherings like anime conventions.

Yeah I mean you can see tons of people playing GO but unless there are kids or gamer nerrrds they probably don't care about the 3ds soo uh or don't bother with SP at all.

I mean I got back most of my tickets hats now and I could start on FM/SPQ 2 again finally so yee..

OK I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem so I looked it up here and I can tell I am not alone!

THERE IS SOMETHING GOING ON. I don't know what it is because I don't work for Nintendo but all signs point to it's not just an excuse of "not as many people are bringing their DS". Sure. That may be a part of it.

So I didn't bring my DS around after the Memorial Day US Streetpass event. Since that time multiple stores are not showing any StreetPass. Places that would regularly give 6-10 StreetPass.

I live in a major metropolitan city in the United States. If Streetpass was working with functioning Nintendo Zones I used to get 20-30 StreetPass a day if I brought my DS out....but since I started StreetPass I'm lucky if one of them would be an Animal Crossing house.

In the past two weeks I have been to:

- Three Best Buy locations - none of them have worked
- Two Home Depot locations - none (and it used to be the best!)
- Multiple McDonalds - only one worked - the furthest out of town worked with Nintendo Zone and I got 6 Streetpass but no AC homes :(
- A Hilton hotel - none. At a hotel. None? Cmon. No one?
- FedEx - two locations, only one worked but only had 3.
- Barnes and Noble - none. ALWAYS lots.
- And a few other random AT&T wifi locations that used to work and should work
- I have gotten a few random StreetPass from random people while walking in the same store but I've never recognized anyone
- Ruby Tuesday (most locations closing so yeah that's over)

I am questioning if the Nintendo Zones are working because I know there have been problems before with the Nintendo Zone.

Sorry, I don't have any answers, but I wonder if some of these places have the Nintendo Zone working, or if seriously all the regulars I used to see in StreetPass have just dropped off the face of the Earth.

I'm really bummed because my alt character accidently was set up for StreetPass and got my bronze badge and I deleted him months ago and I'd really like my mayor to get at least bronze. Now I'm not sure if that's happening.

I tend to get around 10 every time I go to the mall, aha. Sometimes up to six (tops) at the movies, but I never bring it to school.

Where the hell do you live that you can get 20 streetpasses in a day? The maximum I have ever gotten was when I went to the city where I got like 6 ._.
