Pokémon What’s your favorite and least favorite Pokémon not in Sword/Shield

Even after the new DLC updates for Sword and Shield, there are still several Pokémon missing. While there are some species that we still wish were in the game, there’s also others that we sure don’t miss as Pokémon Sword/Shield is okay without.

The question is, of all the Pokémon still missing, what’s your favorite Pokémon, and what’s your least favorite?

My take:

My favorite Pokémon still absent from Pokémon Sword/Shield is Hoppip. I can tell that Game Freak has no love for that Pokémon. Of all the Pokémon games from the last ten years, the only game it appeared in as something you can catch is X/Y, and in hoard encounters only. It’s not in ORAS, and has not appeared in any game as a Pokémon you can catch ever since the National Pokédex has been removed. In Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, it’s not available through Island Scan or the Ultra Space Wilds either. And it was one of the many Pokémon cut from Sword/Shield (it hasn’t returned through the Isle of Armor or the Crown Tundra). At least its Kanto cousin made it to Sword/Shield before DLC was announced.

Others I like are Dewgong, Minior, Pikipek, and the Johto starters.

As for least favorite Pokémon, most Pokémon that I didn’t like did make it to Sword/Shield through some way, but one of them that didn’t was Yungoos/Gumshoos. I certainly don’t miss them at all.

honestly i didn't really pay attention to whether the pokemon i didn't like appeared or not so i donno about those, however i truely hate gumshoos so knowing that's not in the game is pretty good lol

my most favourite pokemon ever is meloetta, it's such a cute pokemon and i have a little collection of meloetta items (like a figures, plushies and pokemon cards) so i was really upset when they didn't add it in the game or even in the DLC

plus i've had meloetta on all my pokemon games since pokemon black so not having it on shield bothers me, but i do like some of the new pokemon like the ghost horse (i can't remember it's name) and they did bring rayquaza back so that's cool ☆

My favourite not in Swsh is Empoleon. It was my tradition of choosing the Water starter every new generation because of the Surf HM. Now thats no longer necessary but I still have fond memories of my Sinnoh run with Empoleon and wish he could follow me around in all 3d glory.

My least favourite is...well in general...the Happiny line but unfortunately they are in so I guess...Stantler?? Idk the only Pokemon I really dislike are the pink eggs.

Kinda missing my favourite ghost puppets, Banette and Shuppet. Was hoping for them to be added; alas, they were not. They are in recent games however it would be nice to see them in Galar, you know? I’ll be waiting for them. Zangoose and Furfrou as well to a lesser extent, I grew fond of them after they accompanied me during my Pokemon X playthrough.

As for least favourite...well on this end it’s more indifference than anything else, yet I won’t deny I’m still a bit miffed about a particular shiny encounter involving a horde of Geodude and Magnitude, so...Geodude I guess.

My favorite Pokémon, chesnaught, is not in this game. While I certainly want my shield ground sloth back in it hasn’t entirely hindered my enjoyment of this game.

Pinsir, my absolute least favorite, wasn’t in the base game but was added back in... At least Sunflora isn’t in even with dlc

They included a lot of my favorite bug Pokemon in SWSH, even if I had to wait until Isle of Armor to get my absolute favorite, Scolipede. Of all the bugs not included still, I miss Yanmega the most, with Ariados coming in a close second, and Beedrill in third (How dare they include Butterfree, but not Beedrill...). None of Scolipede's poison/bug friends got to make it in other than him, and I am a little salty about that, too.

As a fan of Seviper, I was going to say that I'm happy that Zangoose isn't in... but I'm actually not happy that any Pokemon were left out, even Pokemon that I personally don't like. I know that somebody out there surely likes that Pokemon, and I wish they could have that Pokemon to play with.

Probably Seel and some of the starter Pokemon from previous series, mainly Piplup and its evolutions. They’re Pokemon versions of some of my favourite animals so it would be nice to have them but at least I got Spheal with the Crown Tundra!

As for least favourite I’d go for Rattata, had so many encounters with it in past games that it’s nice to get a break from it, though it’s a shame for anyone who would like to have it in Sw/Sh who are unable to.

turtwig line...rip to the real ones also skitty/delcatty, minior, the johto starters, sentret/furret, the mareep line (seriously wtf), teddiursa/ursaring, houndour/houndoom, phanpy, poochyena/mightyena, snivy line, oshawott line, so many cuties gone ;w; as for least favorite, probably gumshoos...i feel bad for the little guys, but i'll never not see orange voldemort when i see gumshoos lmao

I wish they added Misdreavus and Mismagius to the game, they're some of my favorites and I was really hoping they'd come with the DLC expansions. Others I wish were in galar are Komala, Oricorio, Flabebe line, Meloetta, Sewaddle line, Pachirisu, Skitty line, Murkrow (idrc for Honchkrow) and the Sentret line

don't really have a least favorite that didn't make it, but had a lot of favorites. seel/dewgong, poochyena/mightyena (one of my first ever pokemon), houndour/houndoom, skitty, teddiursa/ursaring. big rip.

Favourite which I recently traded for on Home which I am gutted can't go to Sword is misdreavus :L As for least favourite, I don't really know enough of the non sword/shield pokemon to have a least favourite
