What's your favorite instrument to play/listen to?

I love listening to piano and guitar. :) I like to play both too but I am not that good. I get really calm and happy when I hear/watch my boyfriend practice on his acoustic guitar. ^^

I love the violin, it's relaxing. Lindsay Stirling has some good songs and I got my mother hooked on it.

The cello is my favorite. I used to play but I stopped to give time to other things.

I don't play any instruments, but I love listening to drums, guitar and violin.

When I was young I used to follow people to the toilet, but then pretended that I had to go pee so I'd wait outside the bathroom door as they did their business. However, wanting to empty my bladder was just my disguise. As soon as the door closed I'd prop my ear up against the door and just anticipate the loud plop sound when someone does their business (a crap).

That's my favourite noise to listen to.

Time to revive this thread.

I love a lot of instruments, but my favorite sounding one is the marimba. My favorite to play is piano.

My favorite instrument timbre would be any low reeded instrument (bass clarinet, bari sax, bassoon). The thick reedy-ness makes me have an eargasm lol

I play piano and it would also probably be my favourite to listen to but I also love listening to the violin.

I play the clarinet and I love the sound of the clarinet, but all the woodwinds (minus flute, I've never been a fan) sound amazing and I want to play them all.

I already answered this but to update, I currently own a Bb Clarinet, a Bass Clarinet, and recently bought an Eb Clarinet. I'm currently obsessed with my Eb even though it's seriously a pain to play (especially in tune). I used to own an Oboe but I let a friend borrow it but he hasn't returned it yet.

Favorite I think would have to be a tie between acoustic guitar or hammered dulcimer, but honestly I really like alot of stringed instruments.

Hurdy gurdy, harp, cello, violin, and electric guitar steel or not.
I also really love hand pans, steel tongue drum (hand), pan and reed flutes, and bass clarinet. I'm always down for a deep drum in music too.

I don't play instruments. Just listen.

It's been many years since I posted, so I guess I can update.

Obviously, I'm still in love with the oboe, and double reeds in general. English horn and Baroque oboe are both beautiful instruments that I hope I can own someday (almost got a Baroque oboe last year, but sadly didn't work out... =( ). My old favorite of bassoon I still love. Otherwise, I love saxophones (but I'm very picky, I don't like the way it's played in a lot of rock music. I like it having a prettier timbre, like you'll hear in the background sometimes in this song.), as well! And the bass clarinet! And new versus last time I posted - recorder. I have really gotten into early music, and have fallen in love with the recorder. The instrument is sooo much more beautiful than people give it credit for. Example.

Yeah, I love woodwinds. A lot of them. lol. I do also want to give a couple of non-wind instruments that I have taken a liking to: The harpsichord and the psaltery. These are two instruments that are common in earlier music, one may not have even heard a psaltery before, but I recommend you do! I love it more when plucked, like here.

I love listening to piano and French horn. French horn is also my favorite instrument to play and is what I played most years in band at school. I actually have my own double horn, but I admittedly haven't played it in almost 10 years now.

The video game Journey gave me a newfound appreciation for listening to the cello. I don't play it but it sounds cool. OOoo and I also love listening to a good theremin player!

When I was in high school I was obsessed with alt rock/old school rock music and so for a short period of time I tried to learn how to play the electric guitar.. it was fun messing around with all the settings on the amp and whatnot but in the end it didn't really stick, and I didn't really enjoy the.. texture/feel of playing the guitar if that makes sense.

I can't really play any instrument but I think I enjoy playing around on keyboards/pianos the most!

^ A fellow cello appreciator I see. I used to play it in third/fourth grade, and it's one of my favorite instruments to play! I also like the sound of the theremin. My mom plays it a lot, so I'm familiar with it as a whole.
