I tend to give the character a similar appearance to myself but related to the game. So kind of a mix between me and an original character. So possibly like an alternate me?

i always make custom avatars look like my main oc! that said, i haven't played a lot of games lately that have custom avatars.

sometimes i'll make it close to how i look or just take features of myself to throw onto the avi (example: hair colour, eye colour, hair length, height, moles, etc.)

other times i just like making characters and it's all in good fun - either a fresh new character will come to life or i'll reuse features from other characters i've made before

i usually make my characters pretty girly. i always gravitate towards long colorful (i have a penchant for blues, pinks, or white hair sometimes) hair, big eyes, and cute make up. i like my characters to look like a cute shoujo girl basically.

It depends on the game but usually I go with few very specific features. I voted "I try to make it look like an original character I made" but I wouldn't call it that.

I like making new OCs or model them after existing OCs ^^ I never make them look like myself

i usually like making new characters based off of whatever options are given to me and what i think feels best from those options! i won’t ever model them after myself, but i do notice that i will almost always give them dark/black eyes TT

I make them look absolutely stupid. Just like a complete neanderthal.

jk, I actually put effort into my character creations, but they don't usually look like me.

Sometimes I'll try to make it look like myself, but most of the time I just pick whatever I think looks best. Often I like to cover my character's face with a mask of some kind. Makes them look more mysterious that way.

I try to make an OC and make a story to go along with them. That's what I did in Cyberpunk 2077!

I come up with an original character each time I'm presented with the option, as I don't play games as myself. Most often play as women, but sometimes I'll make a guy or non-binary character, just kinda depends on what character I feel like making that day or if I have some particular concept or inspiration in mind.

I usually make myself, and depending on the setting, it's either close to my RL appearance or a fantastical, idealized version. Sometimes I have both.

If the game has replayability or it's something like an MMORPG, I'll make my original characters.

When a game doesn't have great character customization or it's a goofy setting or one I'm not invested in, I like making a grandma-looking character to play as, because it amuses me lol.

It varies! Sometimes I'll make it look vaguely like me, and other times, I'll take more creative liberties with it. I'll always make the character something that appeals to me (in the sense that they're the hero I want to be, etc.). Sometimes I make the character look like a previous custom character I've made! For example, I made the Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition look similar to how I made look Hawke in Dragon Age II (which is kind of funny, given they meet).
