So covid dodgers, where was your last real holiday before (or during :O) the pandemic. Mine was months and months ago in the Netherlands visiting my other significant half, I spent a wonderful month there and I plan to go back as soon as the real gates open!

Mine was this time last year, I went away for the weekend with my best friend to celebrate our birthdays as we're two weeks apart. It's strange to think back then we had no idea it would be our last for the foreseeable future.

My last holiday was late September/early October 2019 and it was to Orlando, I'd been quite a few times when I was young but that was the first time I'd been back for about 10 years so it was interesting to see how much the theme parks had changed, it was a pretty busy holiday but we did get some days just staying by the pool and relaxing.

Had some holidays planned for 2020 but they obviously all got cancelled (and refunded fortunately), looking forward to getting away again but only when it's safe to do so.

My last vacation was between Christmas-New Year's at Lake Placid. Yearly trip, always lots of fun climbing up the Adirondack Peaks and doing everything else "winter".

At the end of August 2019 I went to Tennessee for three days for a music festival. I don't know if you'd even consider that a holiday, but it was the first time I'd travelled in years. I was going to take an actual holiday to Disney California after graduating university in spring of 2020 but of course that won't be happening any time soon now.

mine was london 2 years ago, my mum wanted to take me and my sister to some fancy shopping place there and it was probably the most boring holiday i've been on but me and my sister put on a smile to keep our mum happy ♡

shopping isn't really my thing, especially since she didn't take us to any game shops, so clothes shopping is all we did for 3 days
imo, london isn't too fun anyway, but that's just because we have been wayyy too many times, probably because it's literally a 2 hour drive

I believe I travelled out of state to visit family in 2019? Nothing like that has happened since then.

this time last year I went to Vienna for a few days! we had intended to go to a christmas market but then life happened and instead we ended up going away in Feb. it's weird to look back now and think how close we were to everything falling apart, and yet still having a perfectly normal time

Last February I went for a weekend away with my boyfriend to visit his friends. Not sure why I was there crashing their boys weekend lol but now I'm sure glad I went since it seems like it's still going to be quite a while more before I can see anyone else again.

Last year in July, I went with my mom to my grandma's house by where I used to live. We weren't necessarily on vacation, she was just helping her get rid of some of her things while I sat around.

I, was bored out of my mind. I had brought my dead 3DS and some movies, I was allowed to use the laptop, and there was cable TV, but the California countryside and internet doesn't mix well. Most of it was just waiting for Disney+ or Hulu to load so I could watch Drake & Josh or Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

My last vacation was many, many years ago. We went to visit my sister-in-law and nephews at the Outer Banks. That was probably in 2012 or 2013 right before my pug had his stroke. After that, we couldn't leave him to travel anymore. He passed away in 2016, but then I got my current dog who has separation anxiety and doesn't travel well. So we're stuck at home permanently with him.

I don't mind so much, though. I'm one of the rare people who hates travelling. Everything about it gives me anxiety.

The last time I've been on a real vacation was in late August to September of 2019 when I visited some of my family in Oklahoma. I stayed there for several days and was one of the few times I flown in my life. I didn't do too much since I wasn't there for very long.

In truth, I can't really remember where exactly my last vacation would have been, just that it was many years ago (I think 2009?), lol. I definitely don't mind, since I'm not a fan of traveling for vacations. I vastly prefer staycations instead.

Last holiday was in October, 2019, when I went to Japan for a week with my husband and son.

It was such a great time. We stayed in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, from which we ventured to other places like Kawagoe and Odaiba for day trips. The food and shopping! Best lunch was at a 200-year-old restaurant in Kawagoe well known for their eel. Every day there would be a queue outside even before they opened. The salad bars in the basement of the supermarket at Seibu were amazing. Delicious, good-looking salads. (Tad expensive, sold by weight per 100g, but totally worth it.) I raided the gacha machines in Akihabara. My loot included a complete set of Kimetsu no Yaiba figurines which I now have on display on my bookshelf. We spent hours in a hard-to-find puzzle shop that sold all kinds of mind-boggling puzzles and puzzle books. A cat-themed craft fair happened to be held at the Ikebukuro station on the last day of our week in Tokyo, and I couldn't believe my eyes at the beautiful quality of the handmade items. Husband bought a coin case and I bought a set of gorgeous leather kitty bookmarks which I still keep on my table every day just so I can look at them.

It wasn't my first trip to Tokyo. But it was definitely one of the most memorable.

For me it was over a year ago the summer I graduated college, I went to several countries in Europe with my sister and cousin.

Mine was back in August 2019, when I went to Amsterdam with my brother and my mum. It was great and we were planning on going again last year but obviously that never panned out haha.

Oh, but we stay in Bath for a few days last year in October when lockdown had eased up, if that counts as a holiday? It's a really nice city, I'd love to live there if it wasn't so expensive 😅

Last proper holiday was to Malta in August 2019. We travelled all over the island and took a day-trip to Gozo.

Last short trip was a weekend in Liverpool (England) in February 2020.

Wow, we really are getting all over the world aren't we? where are your most sought after destinations? For me I'd love to go to Canada and Australia, also New Zealand (where the honeymoon will be based) for the lights and scenery. I'm personally living in Scotland right now and whilst rather freezing, the scenery is breathtaking.
