Who are the best (and worst) hamster villagers and why? 🐹

Ugh, not the hamsters....they are one of my least favorite species....but ill try anyway to put my best and worst favorites (probs a lot of worst faves)

BEST: Clay. He is one of the hamsters I actually like (the others are Flurry and Hamlet, but Clay is the best) he is so cute and i would cherish him if he ever comes to my island

WORST: (Pls dont hate me) but Apple, Rodney, and Graham. Im sorry, but unlike others opinions on Apple, her eyes are just....TOO big for my taste.... im creeped out.... I dislike Rodney for obvious reasons, and Graham just looks.....ugh

Graham looks so cute and precious, and I really do love him. I have had Apple but nothing special really.

My favorite Hamster villager is Clay, due to his unique dogū-inspired design.

I'm not really fond of the Hamsters, there aren't that many of them and I only find Hamphrey and Soleil particularly appealing.

My least favorite is Flurry because one of my pet peeves in terms of Animal Crossing character design is some of the animals lacking noses to go for a more minimalist and theoretically cuter look. I still like a number of villagers that lack noses, like Ankha and some other Cats, but I feel like some villagers would look better with them, like Marshal. In the case of Flurry in particular, her lack of nose is more glaringly apparent because she has that fleshy muzzle. She's one of if not my least favorite designs in the series in general.

My favourite is probably Hamlet, despite been a jock, his design is cute and he was one of my starter villagers in NH. I also quite like Soleil as she has a sweet design, though I'm not sure about the yellow cheeks, and I think Flurry is alright but her eyebrows looks a bit odd on her.

Apple and Graham are my least favourites, Apples design just seems a bit over the top and her eyes seem to big for her and I don't understand why Graham has a pig snout for a nose when all the other hamsters that have noses have the cute little button nose.

The worst is Apple. She just looks creepy.
Not only creepy but she has that smug look on her face like she just went to toilet in the Nutella and is waiting for you to use it. That spoilt fat kid smile.

I like all the hamsters. But i also love real life hamsters.
I voted Soleil. I met her in the dream suite last night. Super cute super sweet.
I also like Apple and Graham alot.
Hamlet does seem to come off kinda plain compared to other jocks.
I can kinda see why alot of people dont like them. They are small and compact so they can come off as stiff and not as expressive. Thier clothing most of the time look stretched.

Worst hamster if i had to pick, Clay. I don't think he looks bad but I vibe with him the least.

Easy vote for Hamphrey here, but I like pretty much all the hamsters, really. The only one I'd never consider inviting is Soleil. Her design is just way too over the top for me, even for a snooty.

My favorite is Soleil. To be honest, I’m not a big hamster fan and she’s the only one who is really appealing to me. Graham was my forced campsite smug, and even though his house interior was one of the coolest I’ve ever seen with the servers and the K.K. Bubblegum shrine, his design is incredibly unappealing to me and I moved him out as soon as he had the thought bubble.

Best: Apple - who also happens to be one of my favourite villagers since NL was released.

Worst: Rodney, no competition.

I'm not a huge fan of the hamsters in general, but I really do like Clay's design and colors, so he's my favorite. I also like Hamphrey for his eyebrows, colors, and buckteeth.

Worst is Apple for me, since her eyes are a little unnerving and creepy. Like something you'd see in a haunted amusement park.

Best: Clay, Flurry and Hamlet

Clay is probably my favourite villager because I'm such a fan of Japanese history and lore. His design is based on the dogu statue (the ancient statue in the game). In my headcanon, he is an alien disguised as a dogu statue to make it look like he's a hamster disguised as a dogu statue. His eyes are a dead give away...those aren't normal hamster eyes...

Flurry is so cute. I love her wintery theme and hope to have her on my island some day.

Hamlet is very normal looking and easy on the eye, unlike some of the other hamsters.

Worst: Apple

Apple is horrifying. Those eyes look like they want to eat your soul. Maybe that appeals for some players but definitely not for me. She also feels a bit over-designed in my opinion and despite her name she doesn't even come close to resembling an apple (Bunnie does it so much better).

Ahh finally! The hamsters, my favorite species. And the fact is, I love every single one of them, they are all stars

Spoiler: I love all of the hamsters

Graham made me realize I didn’t dislike the smug personality! He is the perfect smug to me, a personality where I don’t really love many of the designs. I just find him so so sweet and I love his little pig nose.

i have not had Rodney yet, but he is just adorable! His little freckles, his buck teeth. I hope one day to have him on at least one of my islands.

clay just has these little dark alien eyes that are so so cute! Plus I love villagers based on Japanese culture and he is based on doguu, figurines made in the Jomon period in Japan (this is also what the ‘ancient statue’ is).

Apple is such a good peppy, her little round body hold holds so much spirit. The peppies have a pretty insane level of enthusiasm and she captures that so well. Plus, play hobby, which in the hamsters is extra cute. Their little arms stuck out like the most ineffective wings ever.

Flurry initially I did not think I would love as much as I do. I don’t generally like the ‘wintery’ colored villagers. But watching her do literally anything is just too cute to resist. I don’t know if I can ever let her move away...she’s been with me since probably late may or early June.

Soleil is one of my favorite villagers designs in the game. She’s just lovely. Her eyes are so pretty and she just looks so beautiful, while at the same time she is a ridiculous tiny creature. My favorite snooty

Hamlet - initially he was the one hamster I was not crazy about. He just seemed a bit...plain. But he grew in me, basically as I realized I loved all the hamsters. And I just had to invite him when I found him while island hopping and I now love him so much. He also has the play hobby and I just love seeing him run all over. And obviously, the jock dialogue becomes particularly comical

Hamphrey I held out against inviting to my island for a while, just because he is a cranky and I feel I can go without a cranky on my island and be perfectly fine. But i so find him adorable of course, and his face is very expressive and funny.

All of the hamsters are just so fun to see out and about on my island. I love dressing them, I think they look good pretty much all clothes, even weird gifts from other villagers like the jockey uniform.

I wish there were more hamsters to choose from, especially a sisterly hamster!

Best is flurry - had her in NL and NH and she's an adorable little muffin. The only reason I decide to let her go in NH is because I cannot stand Hypno K.K. as her house music. Hamlet is a close second for me - again super cute but not being talked about as much. He's a dreamie jock for me.

Worst is Rodney - i'm so sorry bruh but the teal + hot pink color on top of the teeth is a bit too much for me XD his house exterior is gorgeous though.

I stand by the opinion that I think most are way underrated in the game than the hype they actually deserve. To me they are just as cute as the deers, squirrels, cubs, and bunnies

I voted for Hamphrey and Clay. I've had both of them as villagers and adored them. That deep, cranky voice coming from Hamphrey is awesome and I love his coloring and expressions. As others have said, Clay is based on a dogu statue, which is a really cool concept. I love his markings and his eyes. I always wanted to get Clay and Coco at the same time and pair them together because of the references.

Honorable mention to Hamlet, who is one of my current residents. Hearing some of the jock dialogue come from that short, round, little guy is too funny.

I really kind of like all the hamsters. Apple is probably more pink than I could handle, but I still think she's cute.

Graham and Rodney have been my favorite ham boys since way back in New Leaf.They're both nerdy and a bit weird,like me.
