My favorite is Soleil! She's my birthday twin and was my first uchi character back in NL. She was the sweetest!
My least favorite hamster villager is Apple. It hurts saying this because I had her on my island and she's so cute. However, I don't really like peppy villagers in this game, and having two peppy villagers was too much. There's also the issue of her house. It takes the apple theme too far that it becomes ugly. I prefer her house interior being the starter-peppy one (the one with floral wallpaper and wooden furniture).
Dang, people really hate Apple, huh... Apple is my favorite, I had her in NL, she's just precious, I want to pinch her little cheeks! Second favorite is Flurry.
the hamsters are adorable but flurry and clay own my whole heart. back in new leaf, i had a friend tell me that flurry reminded him of his grandma and while i’m not sure how, that memory always makes me giggle a bit. :’)
hamlet is definitely the worst, though; not sure what my problem is but i can’t stand him or his design. >_<
I really love the addition of hamster villagers to Animal Crossing! They are as small as the frogs, and with those chubby cheeks how can you resist not finding them adorable?
My favorites:
Graham - he has a really cute design, from his nose down to his toes. His shade of yellow paired with his pink nose, green inner ears and white belly is just so appealing. He's supposed to be a nerdy little guy but the fact he's a smug only adds to his charm.
Hamlet - he's just too adorable! He still lives in my NL town, too.
Apple - a complete cutie. Love her design! She too lives in my NL town along with Hamlet.
Flurry - it's cute how she lacks a visible nose and is white all over! And she has cute eyes.
Rodney - FRECKLES.
Clay - really unique and cute design.
My least favorites are Hamphrey and Soleil. I wouldn't say they are bad or anything, they just don't do much for me, really.
I don't like hamsters. I cannot find them cute or whatever. But if I have to choose one I like, could be Flurry. I must admit she's a little bit nice looking and has a great personality. Normal is one of the best!
But I hate Apple. She appeared on one of my island few months ago as one of my first villagers and I just want to see her leave. Peppy personality is truly not my favorite but matched with her face I just can't. Sorry for the ones loving her but... I hate her. Everything.
soleil is one of my favourites since i had her in NL! she was always really sweet to me, and i remember i loved the inside of her house. flurry is cute too but i hate her preferred song in NH, it's so needlessly creepy and weird.
Flurry is a cutie and my favorite. Had her on my island a long time... she's like a little walking marshmallow.
Worst is Rodney, maybe. But Apple gets an honorable mention for being kind of annoying. I had her in NL and she set her house down right in the middle of a main path. She's also a bit delusional.
Sad to see my best boy Rodney on the bottom, but especially if we're only comparing the hams, I understand. They all have a unique charm to them, and Rodney is but one radiant joy among many.
...Except for Hamlet. There's just nothing about him that makes him special in my eyes. Why would you take him over, say, Genji or Teddy or Roald? Unless you had an emotional connection with this guy in a past AC game (or the "I Love You" cover art sold you on him), I don't get his appeal. He's just kinda... there. I don't hate him or anything, but he would probably be my last and emotionless pick if I were considering having all the hams on my island.
Flurry. She was my third villager (the first I encountered during island hopping) and is still one of my favourites. I'm incredibly happy to have her, she is a bookworm and loves winters. Perfect match. Also really adorable and fluffy-looking optically. I've built her a little house between trees with a path leading up to it and a tiny library in the front.
I think she is one of the best characters in all of Animal Crossing.
favorite is clay! i love villagers that resemble inanimate objects. least favorite is rodney... i've ran into him one too many times on villager hunts..
Marlo is my absolute favorite because crime boss hamster Flurry is also super cute, and I love her color scheme and little furless patch around her mouth and... er, where a nose would normally be, and I also really love Soleil's warm colors, pixie haircut, and possible gyaru style inspiration. Clay also has a cool concept!
There are no bad hamsters, except for Apple. She might be cute if her huge, wide eyes didn't have the whites exposed on all sides, but with her current expression she looks like she's thisclose to snapping and murdering me in my sleep.
BEST: Once again, my boys, Clay (who in my headcanon is not an actual hamster) and Hamlet are the best hamsters. I still like Flurry, but I feel I would only appreciate her in the winter and not in any other season. However...there is one that must be mentioned...and that is...
Marlo!
Marlo is another new villager in the HHP update that I really like. Like others have said, he looks like a mob boss with that tuxedo and black glasses.
WORST: Apple. She is still the horror story that has yet to happen. Those eyes...they stare into your soul...and eats it. If there is such a thing as "so cute its creepy" then Apple is the best contender.
Okay, I kind of love all the hamsters. There isn't really one I dislike. Even Rodney, with his unfortunate face, is still pretty cute to me and I wouldn't mind having him in my town. I wish we could have endless animal crossing towns, this thread has really made me want all these cute combinations!
But my most favorite hamsters would have to be Apple, Hamlet, and Clay.
but seriously, he is my fave, and Apple is a close second! although I massively preferred her in NL to NH for some reason - I think it's just the peppy personality in general I don't like as much in NH. I don't think there's any hamster I dislike honestly, they all have their own charm to them - if I had to pick an entire island with just one species, hamster would be a strong contender for top choice
