Who are the best (and worst) monkey villagers and why? 🐒

Ngl, but i like most of the monkes. I have a thing for derpy looking villagers and there are so many monkes out there that fit the bill.

BEST: Deli. Deli is probs my favorite of the bunch cause he was my starter lazy in NH. He is so cute and i actually wasted TOO MUCH nmts to get him on my new island (i eventually replaced him, but it was fun while it lasted )

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Flip and Simon. I love both Flip and Simon cause they are SUPER DERPY. I had Flip once, but i had to delete the island because of problems involving multiple accounts...

WORST: Tammi and Monty. Monty just does NOT match the cranky personality WHATSOEVER... imo, cranky monkeys just look weird. Tammi, on the other hand, FREAKS ME OUT.... Tom Nook moved her in as my peppy and the first thing i did was ignore her.... shes just THAT creepy for me...

The best is Flip.
He is one of my all time favorite villagers.
I own his amiibo and I always add him to my saves on new leaf and i had him on new horizons until I wanted to try out tybalt for the first time and didn't want 2 jocks. So I moved him to my second switch.

The worst is elise. She's just so ugly

The monkey villagers are tbh my least favorites, hence why I can't call any of them the best. If I would go by design, then I would say Tammi looks kinda cute.

tbh, i didn’t realize just how many of the monkeys i liked until this thread. :’o nana is definitely my favourite - she’s adorable and i’d really like to have her on my island one day! which shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish since i run into her almost every time that i go island hopping . but i’m also quite fond of deli, tammi, simon, flip and shari, too!

the worst for me is definitely monty, though; his design is just .

Deli is my favourite monkey, I'd probably never look for him for my island but I do think he looks cute compared to a lot of the other monkey villagers. I've seen Nana a few times while island hopping and think she looks alright too and Flip isn't too bad for a jock villager.

My least favourite is Tammi, I don't like her design very much as it makes her look a bit too angry to me and she randomly moved herself onto my island a few months ago and took forever to leave. Also I don't really like Monty or Simon either, their designs just aren't very appealing to me.

My favorite Monkey villager is Elise. The glasses, makeup, and beauty mark make her stand out at a glance and I like it, plus she's a Snooty and I like the Snooty personality. She's a resident of one of my New Leaf towns, a hybrid circus and magic show town.

My second favorite is Tammi, she has a really pleasant design and her eyes are striking. She's also a resident of that same town alongside Elise. I like to think of them as working the trapeze and performing aerial stunts.

I'd probably say Shari is my least favorite Monkey,

Shari by far. And she is the only monkey I like and my favorite Uchi.
I think Simon is the worst.

I actually love the monkeys!

Shari was my starter uchi and she is darling. For me she comes across as more sweet and awkward than some of the other uchi villagers, and it is always fun to find a sort of unique ‘personality’ within a villager. Love the yellow on her hands and feet.

Simon is a darling. Love his coloring, love his house interior, love his play hobby! I moved him off my second island when tangy came to my campsite and I have regrets, despite already having his photo! So he may come back to one of my islands. His design stands out among the lazies to me, and is a lot of fun!

And finally Flip, who is just wonderful! He is really an outstanding villager! Simple design and cute and expressive but also still has an interesting look. Has the music hobby not fitness, which is appreciate in jock villagers. He was not on my radar at all before I got him as a starter on my second island, but almost immediately I became attached to him. A great side kick for all your island adventures!

I have to say, after months of thinking she was scary looking I had tammi in my campsite and now I kind of like her? She has a weird kind of charm...

I think the monkeys are adorable! My absolute favorite is Deli. When I spent time in India, my favorite monkeys were the Gray Langurs and he reminds me so much of them, so I think he's a cutie! I also really like Shari for her colors and for being based on a Squirrel Monkey!

I also think Nana is very cute and I love Simon red face mask marking, and a shout out to Champ because he's also adorable and I hope one day he'll make it back into the series. Honestly there isn't a monkey design I don't like.

Favourites would be Nana and Tammi. Nana is super adorable and love her colouring! Pretty much same reasons for Tammi. She's very striking looking and I love her tail! She lived on my island for a few months and she was a joy to have

Least favourite is Simon. He's okay though! Just not as interesting or cute as the others imo.

Best: Flip and Deli

Flip is my favourite monkey. I love his overall design.
Deli was in my NL town at one point. He has cute eyes and a great personality like all lazies do.

Tammi is a good honourable mention. I would like to have her on my island some day.

Worst: Elise

I hate Elise, of course her design, but what she...meant to me in my old NL town. She wouldn't leave my NL town for MONTHS. I can't stand to look at her without PTSD flashbacks of me hitting her with tbe net/hammer, yelling through the microphone, sending her trash, putting her into pitfall mazes, etc. I wanted her gone. Now I'm pretty much over it but whenever she's on an island while I'm hopping, I immediately go back to get a new island.

Deli is definitely the best monkey I had him in new leaf and absolutely adored him.

Worst for me is Tammi based just on the red eyes, so creepy.


I will defend Monty though he's super cute and watching the deep cranky voice come from his little monkey body is hilarious lol. The inside of his house is also cute if you like the mushroom furniture. I had him on my Island for a few months.

Best: Champ, he's cute. The same applies to Nana. Deli too! But yeah, Champ lol.
Worst: Flip. His design just doesn't do anything for me. Then again, I'm not too fond of the monkey villagers to begin with, but I definitely don't hate any of them

Joking aside, I don't like monkeys irl and none of these villagers appeal to me very much. But I think Shari and Nana are ok.

Also, am I crazy that Elise reminds me of Carrie Donovan in the Old Navy commercials?

Deli and Nana are definitely the best monkeys in the game. But it’s not really my favorite species all in all so it’s not a hard pick.

People who say they hate monkeys obviously have never laid eyes on Deli. His name is DELI. He’s adorable. I love him and his facial expressions.

Personally, I think that these threads should include a list with pictures of the villagers. Because I don't think that everybody (including me) knows all the villagers in this game by name.

The true best monkey villager is Champ and I will be forever sad he's not in New Leaf or New Horizons. He is so cute and while I don't generally care too much for jock villagers I think I'd like having Champ on my island!! Honourary shoutout goes to Porter as well, because he is the best boy even if he isn't technically a villager.

Out of the current monkey villagers though, Shari is my favourite! As a whole I don't really enjoy the monkey villagers. I don't hate them I guess I've just never paid them too much mind? I've had Shari in New Leaf though and she's one of my favourite sisterly type villagers! Looking at the list though I also find the design of Flip, Deli, and Nana to be pretty cute! Nana is probably the cutest of the three but I shouldn't be surprised since she's a normal personality and they always have my favourite designs, lol.

For my least favourite it's a tie between Tammi & Elise. Elise is on here because I just don't enjoy when the villagers look like they're wearing lipstick and Tammi's eyes kind of creep me out. D:

I had Shari in New Leaf and have Tammi in New Horizons, I love them both the most!! They're super cute. I'm surprised people think Tammi is creepy, haha, I love her design. Elise is.... well, her color scheme is awful, and those LIPS. but the rest of the monkeys are cute. :3
