Who am I?
I'm Matt. I'm 37, male, father of 4, and a middle school ELA teacher in the Central Valley of California, USA.

Why do I play?
I play because of the lack of responsibility built into the game. I play because there's no pressure to accomplish anything at all, while at the same time there's so much to do. I play because there's something new to experience every day, and because there are things to check off lists. I like that I can't die, and I like that the game doesn't change for me whether I play alone, or with others.

Who are you, and why will you play AC:NH?

I'm John.

I like many aspects of AC.

Landscaping and building a nice themed town/island.

Fishing, bug catching and fossil hunting. I love the museum, especially the fossils. Who wouldn't want to live in a place where there's a T-Rex on display!

I like interacting with the villagers, but not to a great extent. The occasional visit, or request, but not full time as I want to enjoy all of the game.

It has always been a peaceful escape.

I'm a female young adult who grew up with Animal Crossing and continues loving it. This will be the first time I'll be busy during a AC release week (though I got New Leaf on a break later), so that sucks! I just love it, I love cute things and many series from Nintendo. Animal Crossing is definitely my favorite one, I don't know why. It just spoke to me as a little kid. :)

I don't know why I'll play it tbh. It just looks so good, like where New Leaf improved in graphics New Horizons seems to improve in gameplay (and everything else, too). I just want to make New Horizons a nice little treat at the end of my day, something to look forward to. I like open-ended games of all kinds, especially when you can just exist in them without being punished.

I'm Brooke! 23 years old -- 24 in a few weeks.

I'm in college as a Junior pursuing Business Marketing.
I love business. Aspiring to get my MBA a couple years after I graduate in undergrad.

I love geocaching, business, and trying new foods!

Why I Will Play:
~ Because I love Animal Crossing! Been with me ever since wild world! ( I had GC too but I was too young to know how the game worked, so I got rid of it)
~ Because New Horizons looks amazing!
~ Because there are SKIN COLOR options, woo!!! This means a lot to me since I'm quite tan irl.
Non-AC people always thought I was weird playing the game as a pale/white person, but i had no other choice :/

Who are you?

I'm Antonio, 19, common funny man and self crisis expert.

Why do you play?

To avoid my responsibilities as an adult. I also love the games.

I'm Emma. I'm 23. I'm a college student who is double majoring in Honors Russian and History, with a minor in Pre-Law. I work in information security as an executive assistant as much as I can fit it in my schedule. My life is crazy busy, it's at its busiest it has ever been right now. I feel like I can't breathe from how thinly stretched I am, and so I can't play Skyrim or Witcher or Red Dead Redemption anymore because of how involved and draining those games can get.

Therefore Animal Crossing is the perfect fit. It always has been. I played it all through elementary, middle and high school. I stopped for a while but I got back into it late last semester and surprisingly it was just a complete de-stresser. But it's always been that. And I'm surprised now that I ever fell out of it and forgot. I'm in love with Animal Crossing. I love it for the same reasons you do -- no deadlines or stress, but so much to do. So many ways to see your accomplishments and love put into the game slowly build into results that you can see and appreciate. It's the most perfect way to destress after a long day. Even if it's for just twenty minutes, I can pop into my old town and talk to my villagers and water my flowers. It's always waiting for me every evening and it doesn't waver or plummet into despair no matter how crazy life feels on the outside. I am literally counting down the days for New Horizons. I cannot wait to have a new relaxing and beautiful adventure in every little crevice of time that I can fit it!

I don't mean to write an essay. But it's just so nice to put my immense appreciation for this game into words!

This is a nice thread, I appreciate seeing different kinds of people who play animal crossing. It really shows how special the game is and how it is made for everyone. :lemon:

I am a digital artist in my mid 20s.

I play animal crossing because I love taking care of my town, decorating it, and making it a place I want to visit. I also love seeing how everyone creates their own unique towns. I am very excited about New Horizons because it will allow us to be more creative than ever before, I cannot wait!

I'm a too-close-to-thirty-year-old scientist and fiction writer.

I liked the previous main line AC games so I'll play this one too.

Who Am I?
I'm Jalicia, a 30 year old black autistic woman who lives with her family. I sadly never worked (tho I want to some day!), and mainly stay at home and help my mom and family!

Why Do I Play?
Animal Crossing is a series I've always played at some point of my life! I've played it since the Gamecube days and played every single main title. I play it because it's a fun relaxing series with little to no stress in it. And sometimes I just get tired of beating up badguys in other games! I just wanna sit back and relax with some fishing or gardening! I also love simulation type games! (Tho oddly enough, not The Sims lol). Though I haven't played it in years, I know that AC helps with my anxiety and other issues - so I'm very grateful for it! c:

What he said....really those are exactly the reasons I have played AC since GameCube back in 2001...I'm John, 66 years old and this has been my game of choice (only game) since I started.

I'm Alyssa and I'm an adult who really loves Animal Crossing and have been playing since Wild World.

I'm going to be playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons because it's really the only game I like these days and it's very easy for me to play. Plus, it's relaxing and I don't have to worry about battling tough monsters or the like just to be able to move on. I love all the activities in it too and there is always plenty to do everyday. :)

Why do I play?
I'm a fan of AC for more than 10 years now, it's one of my favorite video game series out there and of course it's a mandatory for me to get New Horizons. I've been waiting for a new title for so long and I'm more than just happy that it will coming out next month.

I'm Erin, a 50-year old office manager, part-time writer, part-time knitter.

I play AC because I love the fact that it is low stress. My life is crazy enough, so being able to play something that doesn't require me to kill everything that moves or finish a goal in a certain amount of time is great. I think I mostly enjoy landscaping and decorating my house. Each game has offered more decorating abilities, and NH looks to expand even more. I can't wait to discover my island.

Who are you?

A 17 year old student who really does not like studying.

Why do you play?

Very powerful words, Jalicia, and a testament to how powerful a series like AC can be. Thank you for sharing.

I'm impressed overall with the breadth of demographic range to whom this game appeals. It goes to show just how well Nintendo has managed to capture our attention and imagination.

Why do I play?
I honestly couldn?t say at first, as I am a huge completionist for some games and filling them out if I can, but I enjoy the laid back feeling of AC and have fun playing it, watching the seasons go by, talking to villagers and catching what?s available for the month, just pure relaxation.

I honestly wish I wasn?t so late to the series as my first game was NL and I went into that blind only knowing things from the trailer, as this game is right up my alley, I never recall seeing any ACing advert ever during the 2000?s, not even in stores. Better late than never I suppose.
