Whenever I do a crafting task for a villager that I scanned into the campsite, or craft a hot item for Bells/Nook Miles, it usually takes me five minutes to find the recipe because of course I scroll past it like six times before I find the darned thing. A search bar would make it so much easier. Who agrees?

I would love a search bar for DIY’s. I always pass the one I’m looking for a few times before I find it.

Agreed 100 percent. I don't know how many times I've scrolled through my list for a certain DIY only to find out I don't have it. Or that l do have it and keep overlooking it.

I've always wanted this too. I usually filter using the "Name" but if I can't remember the name, I'm basically scrolling forever trying to find it because "Type" doesn't really help me much either with all the different sets.

Selling hot items is my favourite way of earning bells (and purging my materials in my inventory) while grinding the nook mile cards, so I'm constantly crafting. I tend to see a lot of repeats of stuff and I can mostly guess what they need just by looking at it so I just dump stacks in my pocket. But I'll usually save some of the more complicated DIYs to my favourites (or just the ones that are harder to remember) so I can access them easily.

The interface for crafting (not to mention storage) is pretty antiquated in many respects, up to and including the lack of a search bar. So yes, adding one would go a long way into making it less frustrating to use.

I've been thinking about this before I saw this post. The search bar would be a good feature to find the recipe easier.

I always sort them alphabetically, which is the easiest way for me. I don’t think a search function would be that difficult to implement, however.

When you already got too many and not sure where to look, sure a search bar would be lovely 😂

I don't know. It feels like it'd clutter up the screen. I can see the benefits but I already don't enjoy using the search bars for the catalog. Typing on a controller is annoying for me.

Sounds convenient to me. This game could do with some more QoL improvements. Especially in the DIY department. Having a little bar where you can type a few words out to get closer to what you're looking for would be nice. It wouldn't have to always be there. Maybe you could prompt the search bar to show up and disable it when you don't need it.

That way like Pyoopi mentioned, it wouldn't take up space if you don't need it.

I agree it would be nice to be able to find recipes more easily, given how many there are now. I'm not sure what the best way of implementing that would have been. I usually either filter by the type and then just scroll, or sort alphabetically. 😊

i don’t really craft much nowadays unless i’m doing it for someone else, but a search tool of some sort would be great. when i’m crafting for someone, i’m usually rushing to do so since i don’t craft until i’m 100% sure the trade is actually happening (and that’s only when i’ve been sent a dodo code, or i’m being asked to send one lol), so that + my general tendency to scroll past and overlook things makes finding what i’m trying to craft hard sometimes. organizing my recipes alphabetically definitely helps me a lot, but i’d still prefer an actual search function so that i could forego the frantic scrolling entirely lol.

a search function for our inventories would also be great, like @/Nooblord said. i have over 4.3k items in mine, so i have a hard time finding stuff in there as well. it’s not so bad if i’m searching leisurely and/or alphabetically, but if i’m trying to quickly find something for a trade... definitely more time consuming than it should be. 😅
