Smash Bros Who is your SSBU main?

The thing I have most wanted from any video game for over a decade now is to play as Bomberman in Smash.
So... now I main Bomberman the Mii Brawler with complete sincerity.

What a cruel irony. I used to revile the Mii Fighters, yet only thanks to them can I kind of play as Bomberman now.

Since Ultimate is my first Smash game, it took me quite a while to find myself a character who would fit my overall defensive playstyle. I tried out the majority of the roster, but nobody really clicked with me. Then I decided to give a chance to a character I kinda ignored from the moment I unlocked him in the World of Light.
So now, after playing for quite some time, I can say that I main Megaman!

My main is Ike, and he has been since Smash for Wii U & 3DS. I didn't really have a main in N64, Melee, or Brawl, I'd just use whoever. He's from my favorite video game in general, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and I really like the way his gameplay in Smash Bros. feels compared to the rest of the Fire Emblem characters. I'm comfortable with his slower speed and heavier weight in exchange for his more powerful swings.

My secondary somehow became Samus in this game. I've just really found myself having a blast using her and find her to be really effective for me. She might have a case to be my main since she might be more reliable for me, but the combination of my affection for Ike's games and his gameplay in Smash just gelling well with me for whatever reason leaves Samus as the trusty alternate.

Lucina's probably third. I would rather be using Marth since I don't enjoy Awakening, but Lucina is just the better Marth in Smash Bros. Ultimate, so it makes more sense to use her instead.

I like using a lot of the roster for fun, but the other best ones for me are Bowser, Donkey Kong, Hero, Lucas, Robin, and Roy.

This mostly still holds true months later, but I'd say now it's

1) Ike
2) Samus
3) Palutena: I just sort of started using Palutena a while back in matches with friends and found that I really liked her playstyle.

Pyra and Mythra are a bit too new to say for sure, but I really like their playstyles (other than their terrible recovery, but I feel like that's a compromise for how good they are) and I'd say they might rank up alongside those three as well.


(As for non-mains, I still also like using Lucina/Marth/Roy, Robin, Donkey Kong, Bowser, Ness/Lucas, Sephiroth and...oddly enough, Wii Fit Trainer came out of the woodwork, and all of those are my other bests.

I like other characters too, like Byleth, Hero, Mario, Wario, and Zelda, but those and others I like using are a step down from the above list in terms of my competency with them, who are themselves a step down from the top 3 or 4 listed.)

ive always mained lucina, i don’t know why, but im just really good when playing as her. her move set is easy imo but deals enough damage, and i just think she’s sick is all. i also main roy, zelda, and dark pit, but it’s lucina majority of the time.

To be honest I STILL don't have a main but I enjoy Ike, Mewtwo, Wii Fit Trainer.

I main Princess Daisy, Inkling, Villager, and Duck Hunt. I think two of them are on high tier list. Those are the ones I like and fun to play!

I’ve always mained Fox and Link in all the SSB games I’ve played, they’ve mostly been pretty strong fighters for me and most of the matches I’ve won against family and friends have been while using one of them. Out of the two Fox is probably my first choice when I play the game but I don’t like the change to his final smash in this game as I used to get a really high number KOs when I could control the airwing myself and drive my opponents of the screen numerous times.

Other fighters that I like using are Kirby, Yoshi and the Pokemon trainer, they haven’t always been overly strong choices but they’re some of my favourite Nintendo characters so I like using them. Also Ivysaur is my main choice with the Pokemon trainer so it was nice to see some improvements with it for SSBU

I use inkling, or the Miis because I've created character such as , Naruto, Sakura, rock Lee, metal Lee, might guy, kakashi, shino, chojuro, ino, and jiraiya from Naruto, deku and bakugo from my hero, Brock and Blaine from pokemon, the avgn and max Moe foe from YouTube, saiki k from disastrous life of saiki k, bane from the dark knight, iron man, ahem* sponge god, Marty McFly from back to the future, Peter griffin from family guy, tenya Ida from my hero, and vault boy

Samus is still my main (and I do aim to keep improving my play with her), but my secondary has now shifted to Peach. Partially due to the memes (hacha), partially due to the fact she's actually pretty fun and easy to use.

I used to main Lucina but then switched to Roy. Something about his explosive fire attacks just speak to me LOL. He doesn't have very far reach when he falls off the edge though.

I honestly don't play enough to "main" anyone. But, I used Toon Link a lot back when I did play. It wasn't because I had a particularly strong strategy with him, or thought he was a great character to use. I just really like Windwaker Link. Hahaha.

Kirby. I've been using Kirby for so many years that it's hard to use anybody else. I love adjusting to the copying.

I main Kirby and I rarely use his copy ability power (yes i still use the inhale attack tho i just spit the opponent back out) but his floating power does come handy to get back onto the stage. If you charge his hammer and hit somebody, and they have the right amount of damage, it can ko them. Also Kirby is the only fighter that can inhale items and restore health, so his inhaling power has another use.

Link. :] I know right, shocker. I will mainly go for Young Link, but if he's not in the game then it's Toon Link. And if I can't play either of them then it's just regular Link.
