Pokémon Who was your first Pokemon?

Who was your first Pokemon? I realize that the answers will just be starters, but I?m curious to see which game people on TBT started with and which Pokemon they started with. Do you remember the first ever Pokemon you had? Bonus points for those who answer who their first Pokemon was for each game they played. My first ever Pokemon was Chimchar around a decade ago in Pokemon Diamond, who I raised to level 100 and still have to this day as a special attacker in my Ultra Sun game. What about you?

either bulbasaur, charmander, or squirtle lmao (bulbasaur being least likely, but not able to be ruled out completely)


also started with r/b (I got both games at the same time and played them parallel to each other, so at this point it's impossible for me to remember which was the true first), back when those were the only games out

i started with red (bc i'm old) i honestly can't remember who i chose first, i had so many play throughs of the game, but i'm pretty sure it was charmander because he looked the cutest but generally squirtle was my favourite of those three once i got to know the game better

My first version was Yellow back in the day, so Pikachu was my first ever Pokemon.

My first ever Pok?mon trainer game was Diamond as well! But I chose Piplup for my first ever Pokemon. ^^

I didn't start playing until Ruby/Sapphire despite growing up watching the Pok?mon anime and movies; should've started way sooner but I digress. :3 My first Pok?mon was a Mudkip.

For the other main series Pok?mon games I've played:
- Emerald: Mudkip
- LeafGreen: Squirtle
- Diamond and Pearl: Piplup, Chimchar
- Y: Fennekin
- Moon and Ultra Moon: Popplio

As you can already tell, I am biased towards water types. xD I also didn't realize until now that I've never chosen a grass starter.

If I can remember, as it was a long time ago, it was Torchic. I first started playing Sapphire version when I was a kid for the Gameboy advance I believe. Gosh, that brings back so many memories. xD

well i started playing on a old roblox game before any real game, ( i think it was cancelled recently for copyright reasons) i had fennekin on there. my first real game i played was X, where, again, i chose fennekin

I can't say this with 100% certainty because it has been years since Red and Blue were released, and I've played a ton of Pok?mon since then, but I feel like I remember the first starter I used being Bulbasaur. I have a distinct memory of Venusaur's really weird backsprite from those games imprinted in my mind.

My very first pok?mon was Turtwig in Pok?mon Platinum!
In SS/HH I chose Cindaquill.
In Black I had Snivy and in White Oshawott (cant remember with the sequels).
In X I chose Fennekin and in Y Froakie.
In ORAS I have no idea tbh. And in Moon I chose the grass type, cant remember the name since i didnt play it much.

I know my first full playthrough of Red was with Squirtle, but I can't say for sure that was my first attempt to play through the game. It has been nearly 20 years. I'd still Squirtle for simplicity's sake, and it's probable that was my first altogether anyway.
