Seems like everyone just want to know everything beforehand, want to check every concerns (like will this or that characters or function will be in game, or you can do this or that?) aren't they supposed to be first hand, in game experiences? Especially on Twitter, where people are sharing every tiny bit of information that they know and everyone seems ok with it. I personally have avoided every AC news account on Twitter (except the officials) but yesterday I just wanted to use a Tom Nook hashtag and got lots of info that I didn't want to know. I'm so upset right now

Not very sure, I personally don't mind either way. However, which twitter users do you follow? I feel like Animal Crossing twitter is very stale.

most people have been super thirsty for info like myself lmao. and unfortunately on the internet, it's kinda impossible to avoid spoilers, especiallllyyyy in hashtags and on instagram LOL. it's gonna pop up on that main feed or whatever that tracks things you like/interact with. i personally never cared for spoilers but ye! i don't really see much things as spoilers tbh tho, just general information, idk but to each their own!

edit: and as faiiry said, there's LOTS to come so you'll be sure to have some surprising experiences!

i’m sorry you got spoiled - it sucks when things get spoiled when you wanted to experience it all yourself. i feel like people are being a bit less cautious with spoilers since it’s the final few days before launch and there’s still some questions people wanted answered before receiving the game or even going to purchase it. it sucks but i assure you that there’ll likely still be lots for you to experience firsthand as the people who have larger amounts of information are on an embargo and can’t disclose everything they know. so while some things have unfortunately been spoiled for you, there’s definitely still elements that you and the majority of everyone else are still in the dark for

It honestly differs per person -- there are definitely people on these forums who are staying away from spoilers. When it comes to social media, if there's an option to band you together with people speaking of the same thing, there is bound to be something you don't want to see. Its just something you have to take note of and tolerate.

For myself, spoilers don't bother me too much. I've always had the mindset of "seeing =/= experiencing." I can enjoy it both ways -- I can enjoy what I see, then I can enjoy what I experience. Its a mindset that's stuck with me for a very long time now, and spoilers are something I can't live without to some extent these days.

You should see me when the latest Pokemon games leak and datamines happen -- I'm allllll over those.

pre release jitters, especially with reviews not really giving or hinting at new info.

Sorry to hear you got spoiled for the first few game days. Try not to worry too much, as there's still quite a lot we don't know about the development of our islands.

Spoilers don’t bother me when it comes to something like AC But I try not to spoil it for others because it’d be rude to

Yes, it does bother me. That's why I've been quiet on here recently and just put everyone posting spoilers on my ignore list.

Can't really avoid spoilers on a topic if you're following twitters and instagrams, and hanging out on forums entirely dedicated to it.

- - - Post Merge - - -

These exist to share information.

This seems.. a bit extreme?

LOL. All the spoilers being posted are in specific discussions usually like, you'd have to click on the thread to see it which says usually it will have content about these new info.

Yeah, that was my exact same thought. Most people talking here lately has indulged in posting something spoiler-like to some capacity. They must have ignored practically the whole member list!

I'm sorry to hear that you got spoiled! It's definitely not a fun feeling when that happens. :( Like others have said, though, there's still plenty to experience first-hand.

Unfortunately, social media sites like Twitter are not the best places to be if you're avoiding spoilers. Unlike forums or something like Discord, there isn't a way for people to hide their posts with a spoiler tag/filter. But to be honest, even if Twitter did have that option, there's also the fact that not everyone agrees about what constitutes a "spoiler." A lot of people don't consider gameplay mechanics to fall under "spoilers," but there are people who do.

If you're avoiding spoilers - however you define them - it's best to stay away from social media until you've played the game yourself. I have to put myself on lockdown for some games, too. Whenever there's a new patch for FFXIV, I avoid everything except my own Discord server until I've finished the patch's story. It's just the nature of things.

Sorry again, and I hope you still enjoy the game!

if i get the corona virus and die before the 20th id rather die knowing as much as i could about the game.

IM KIDDING

a game with no plot can'treally be spoiled to me. In breath of The wild, i wanted to know mechanics and how to find certain things. it didnt spoil the game but did give me an idea on how to play abd go about certain things. like "oh this uses thunder and i can get thunder resist stuff here" or how with pokemon, id want to know what new pokemon are there and gym layouts and order, just so ican also plan ahead. AC will gave mechanics spoiled but ive not seen anyone mention the so called 'plot' that some revoewers mentioned. plus.... youll get to see new villagers and interactions on your own, at your own pace, which makes it priginal anywau, no?

I think its the time we live in, with so many content creators on so many different platforms, you can barely escape spoilers. I just accept it I guess. I don't even seek out those content creators, its like bumping into people buying groceries in the store. It just keeps happening.

Because people are worried that there isn’t anything in the game lol

Personally I don't care all that much.

The only spoilers I tend to care about are story spoilers....and Animal Crossing doesn't really have those. That doesn't necessarily mean I want to know everything about this new game in extreme detail...but it does mean I probably wouldn't shy away from hearing some datamine information.

I'm that person scouring the internet weeks before the launch of a new Pokemon generation looking for every new Pokemon.

I'm not concerned about spoilers in general for anything, haha. And I know that all the information we've been shown so far is just the beginning, and that there will be more than enough info that we will discover ourselves throughout the game. ♡
