Why do people like landscaping more than interior design?

I like landscaping more because I love playing games like Zoo Tycoon and Roller Coaster Tycoon, both have a lot of landscaping going on. I didn't consider the fact that you spend most of your time outside in AC, and yeah, I agree with that too. :p

But that doesn't mean I don't like interior decorating. But ACNH is lacking in that department still, it's not very fun decorating with the furniture sets we have. It's so limited.

I really expect a house-related update at some point that has more furniture as well as ceiling items. HHD was fun and I wish we could decorate other villagers' homes after you reach a certain friendship level with them. Being able to design facilities was fun to but I don't see that feature coming to NH. :/ I guess if you want a shop or restaurant you have to make new player accounts. But even then, houses *themselves* are so limited! In both the small room size and the exterior. NL had so many shapes and colours and styles, in NH you really only have one style and only a handful of colours. :( The ability to bring back custom curtains/shades and doors would be nice too. I miss doors from HHD!! And custom rugs! It would be so handy to be able to place 4x4 or evven 1x1 tile rugs if you, say, have a half-living room half-kitchen type deal and you want the living room carpeted but wood or tile in the kitchen.

Proper "walls" would be good. The panels are a step in the right direction and they're great for fake doors and windows but they're too small to use for walls. You have to use bookcases and rock-climbing walls. Which those look good in those room posts you see online but they take up a lot of space and they look a bit silly if you were to ever visit these rooms in a dream or whatever, and you happen to turn the camera...

I don't like either one honestly and I'm not good at it. In past games I always just put a different furniture set in each room rather than try to do a real house setup. This time I want to do the real house thing but as I said I'm not good at it. As for outside well I live on hot mess island. the flowers are out of control and i had to throw crap everywhere to get 5 stars so yeah. Even before I put all the crap out my island still didnt look good. i try im just not cut out to be a decorator lol

I don't really feel the house was always your main creative area. I don't really think you're limited in any of the games in that retrospect but that's just me.
From flower breeding to pwps to having ability to chop/replant trees...I feel like your ability to focus outdoors has always been a main aspect to each game. It definitely got much more enhanced in New Horizon but, then, so has decorating indoors with having certain features added.

On the negative side, indoors got scaled back in a sense...with losing room sizes to really only gain in two rooms. Not to mention the lack of furniture/wallpapers/floors compared to NL. So, if anything, outdoors kinda only improved meanwhile indoors got a mixture of both improvements/cuts.

Ultimately, I love collecting furniture in this game and decorating indoors has been my main enjoyment. Though having rooms get smaller rather than bigger as a whole kind of sucks...and especially having less items to creatively work with indoors. I can't say I'm too big on terraforming or breeding but I think they've been valuable assets. I also think that's an interesting aspect to the community in the sense that what people enjoy varies and there's accommodations to have that variety in the playerbase.

I find that outdoor spaces often give you the freedom and opportunity to create things that are bigger/unable to be put inside (trees, water features etc.) and I love the ability to make everything cute, not just my house since I spend a lot of my time running around my island. that being said, I don't 100% understand when people completely ignore the interiors of their house(s) in favour of decorating outside. I love decorating my house and that was the first thing I actually worked on/completed (mostly) due to not having unlocked terraforming/a lot of the DIYs I wanted for my outdoor spaces

For me, I think landscaping is more accessible. You can make a really nice river or cliff and just need some flowers, trees, or bushes to spice things up. Also, you can customize the terrain to your liking. When I go to work on an interior, I often don’t have the furniture I want.

i personally like them equally, i think they are fun in different ways
