WHY IS EVERYONE MARRIED

I've never understood marriage on forums and in games. When I used to play Runescape and Maplestory, people would be "married." But they don't even know each other irl! And it's not like it's part of the game. It's not like they get any in-game benefits from doing it.

It's just weird.

I used to play MS. They actually have a built in marriage feature lol. I met some people who were married who were actually bf/gf over the internet.. Skype and stuff. People are crazy.

I don't understand marriage in real life, never mind anything else.

In case you wonder, me and another user of here (AppleCracker) bring the bell tree marriages
The concept of this is if you are really close to a friend here you two create a thread on the basement and then the other users (mostly friends of both users) shi!tposts ruins teh wedding
The first wedding was on August-14-2015 With me and AppleCracker.
In the last posts another wedding a link to another wedding (CommanderLeah X The peanut butter fish) got posted and then another one...and so
Yaaay! I created a cancer here! Hooray

lmao it's your fault this was made
anyways it's gotten really weird so far so i hope it doesn't go on for 2016.

I think it's fun and an innocent idea, but certainly not something that you have to take seriously c:

i used to be married with my friends irl (thirteen wives and two husbands & counting) bc its like friendship thing. we would host a fake wedding after school or during lunch, so there would be literally like fifty students crowded in one place. the teachers were so confused when they saw us lmao

but imo it doesnt make sense to get married on the forums

bahahha that's cute.
I don't care what people do.. It's interesting though.

What's weirder than forum marrying is the fact that people date over the internet. Think about that for a moment though lol. Sure, forum marrying is very odd, but it's 98% of the time just two buddies who wanna declare their best friend-ship.

But the fact that two people become in an actual bf/gf relationship ON A VIDEOGAME OR SITE is not really questioned is just so very odd.
I'm not hating or anything. It's just kinda weird to me.

it's probably just a phase on tbt, it will go away sooner or later.

"Met" a girl online 8 years ago on a forum.

Physically met her after about 5 months of talking.

If you want to dig a little bit into this.. online dating seems more normal than irl dating.

In real life dating.. you're stuck with having to decide on only the few people that surround your town or school, job, etc.. that's your dating pool... those are the ones you will have to settle for.. since there's no other options. Unless you get lucky and magically one of those people are the one for you... you're blindly settling for whatever is in front of you.

Online dating... you can at least select someone from a huge pool of people, and go from there.

Ah. That's actually really a smart answer, thank you very much for clearing it up. It's definitely different from someone who's actually experienced it.
