Care to explain why animal crossing needs a forum site?

because people like animal crossing and someone(s) decided to make a community based around that

Back before Reddit, Discord, YouTube, etc. existed, forums were how many people communicated with each other in groups that shared interests. For games like Animal Crossing especially, forums were the best way to chat about the game, trade, invite people to your towns, and so on. While forums in general are bit antiquated, they're still a good place for stuff like that when sites like Reddit and programs like Discord might move too quickly.

Even though traditional forums aren't utilized as much as these days, I think it is important for the internet as a whole that smaller communities like this one continue to exist to keep things interesting and to also highlight different groups of a given community. In the case of TBT, this place is very special from other Animal Crossing forums I have visited and I have met so many amazing people here! I have been member here for over 10 years (on & off) and I am plan on being an active member here in the foreseeable future to keep up with my friends and to enjoy the new game with everyone else!

Cause interacting with large groups of people who share a similar interest like Animal Crossing is heckin cool

I feel like Discord is good for talking to smaller, specialized groups, and direct messages, but when I want to talk to a community of fans this forum is always my go-to. Plus There s more than just AC discussion here which is fantastic imo.

The Bell Tree originated during a time where forums were the cool, most up-to-date way to communicate online. Social media in it's current form did not exist back then.

I suppose you make a good point. Where there are more other ways of discussing our favorite games, I would say this to be the most simplest I would think?

Yeah, I hardly ever go on Discord to chat. So I can see why this is chosen more to chat. F.Y.I. I'm not good at explaining stuff like this.
