Why pay for .gifs?

Because most people expect people to be kind and respectful and not steal.

Not on this forum I guess, but nothing's stopping you from using it on other media

omfg if you want to be an ******* art thief i guess?? like it's someone else's character/design. i dont even remotely understand questions like these where people hide behind the whole "WELL PPL R MEAN AND THEY STEEL"

'security' would be a watermark, essentially. people who don't watermark are technically taking a risk, yes, for their art to be stolen. asking why you should pay someone for their artwork is just baffling -- you're asking them to take time out of their day to draw you something. simple. those examples belong to other people, so using them would not only be stealing the artwork but the character as well.

yeah, there are jerks who steal art. everyone knows this. it's why watermarks are used. i understand that bases/adoptables can be a little confusing, but regardless, remember those works of art belong to someone and using something that was custom-made for another person is no good.

The purpose of this thread is actually to protect art instead of stealing.
Also, my question has already been answered and I asked for this thread to be closed so I'm not sure if you're trolling or serious.

You always have such lengthy paragraphs xD

i'm completely serious, and apologize for not seeing your last post.

i'm curious as to what you mean by 'protect art;' i wasn't necessarily accusing you of stealing by the way -- i have seen others ask a similar question to this one with obvious intents of grabbing whatever images they wanted and leaving. artists generally know that there are thieves around, so it's really their prerogative whether they watermark or not.

rereading, i think i misunderstood the tone of your post, so i apologize! again, i've simply seen people trying to hide behind that excuse and use it to steal art. =p anyhow, i'm sorry for any kerfluffles i've caused, and again, was not accusing you directly. i'll leave the thread alone now haha

(and yes i tend to get longwinded when i have no intentions of doing so unfortunately)
