Will Animal Crossing on Switch include a detailed character creator like in HHD or PC

A character creator like in HHD and PC seems like a pretty safe bet to me.

I feel like they'll let you have a character creator during talking to Rover. I don't think they would just forget about Rover, now that he's basically a staple.

I actually like what HHD did with character creation. But I suggest an opportunity cost. If you can set your hairstyle and eye color at the beginning, requirements to unlock the Shampoodle should be much stricter than in New Leaf.

How so? According to an unlock shop guide from thonky (it’s been ages so I had to look it up)

“To unlock Shampoodle's, you first have to unlock Kicks. To do that, you have to spend at least 8000 bells in the Able Sisters' shop. Kicks will open if it has been at least ten days since your town was created. Then, spend 10,000 bells in Able Sisters' or Kicks. After Kicks has been open for at least ten days, Shampoodle's will unlock and open on the second story of the Able Sisters' building.”

It seems the requirement for unlocking Shampoodle is to unlock kicks first, spending 8k in able shop and 10 days since town creation, then spending 10k more with either kicks or able sisters and 10 days since the shoe store opened, that’s roughly 3wks (plus a few days for construction of kicks and Harriet) before Shampoodle opens...

I’d like to know what kind of idea you have in mind (sorry if I sound pushy)

I'd like to have more options with character creation, just like in HHD and PC. However, I'd like it to be available at Shampoodles after you unlock her store (just like in previous games). I still want to be able to talk to Rover or some sort of NPC at the beginning of the game to decide on how your character looks though a series of questions, just like it's been done throughout the years. But adding more hairstyles, eyes and colour options would still be cool.

I think we must be able to choose skincolor in the beginning. Maybe we could choose skin and haircolor, but face and rest of the hair could be determined by talking to Rover.

To be honest, at this point, I don't care if we get a character creator of if you get a look depenting
of how you answerd the questions from Rover. As long as some new hairstyles and eyes are getting
added I fine with both.

Must have the option to chose skin colour at the beginning. If they don't include this I'll be really disappointed.
It's very likely that they'll continue the character creation options like in HHD and PC anyways.

You're all going to think I'm nuts, but. While we must be able to pick skin colour at the start, I hope the question system remains in place. I can imagine we can pick our skin tone by rover showing us a bunch of pictures of stick figures drawn in a very crude childish fashion, obscuring their features/gender, but making it clear that they're different skin tones, and us picking one. While most people who use these forum will look up guides etc, I think having the question system means kids won't all pick the same faces and there's more variety

Cause honestly I feel like no kids gonna pick old buggy eyes if they had other options. But I think, for the experience of a child, that's the charm of the game for me, you get an ugly villager, but then they over time become so friendly you don't mind that they're ugly. Or you don't pick you face, but over time you notice things you like about it like how it looks in different emotes for example.

I dunno. Animal crossing needs to retain some random aspect imo .

I don't think I would care for an airport. We have a train and I'm okay with that. I don't need cars either. That's a little too "hooman" for me, lol.

Some things from Pocket Camp that I would like to see are:

1. Those fortune cookies! I love all the different themed cookies. They are so fun to collect.
2. The friendship level. I saw some people comparing this to the Sims, but it is very different than that. The Sims have a friendship level, yes but PC has a friendship level that comes with gifts and unlocks things.

I like that you don't get a lot of options for character creation in the beginning because it makes it more rewarding when you get to customize your character later after unlocking Shampoodle. Maybe Shampoodle could be a spa instead of just a salon where you can get into the tanning bed to change the color of your skin. There are tasteful and fun ways to change the color of your skin!

Skin color could always be an option at Shampoodle.
true! they could also have customisation for skin & eye colour on the options menu that comes up when you open the game.

and maybe gender/pronoun change could be worked into said menu? PLEASE? i accidentally made my acnl mayor female and didn’t notice as the eye shape was the exact same as the one from its corresponding ‘male’ answer set, and i don’t want to restart. neither do a lot of trans (etc) people who made their characters before they, say, felt safe enough to be out. or knew about themselves. idk.

anyway, skin colour. as someone who is...not pale...i REALLY hope they’ll do this. i can’t be bothered to leave my ds open for hours just so my character can tan, especially if it’s temporary and only works at certain times, lol.

I 100% think they will include the creator, as it's been included in the last two "main" games. I don't think that we'll be Mayor again though, as no two game themes are the same it wouldn't make sense for them to keep that feature. But I honestly have no idea what the main basis of the game will be
