I'm doing a bit of both, I have a bunch of different area ideas but I won't know where to place them until I see my island.

I've been wanting to create at least one town that's all natural (no QR patterns) ever since I started playing Wild World, but every time I take a look at all of the wonderful designs that fans create, I always end up giving in and adding floor tiles in my town. There's just so many useful patterns that can be created like: grass (to cover up dead spots), brick tiles, puddles, flowers, ponds, clovers, seeds, mushrooms, ect. So I'll be centering my town's theme around both "planned" and natural.

i have no creativity and since im sharing with my friend anyway, i told her she could take reigns on design haha. im just going to add pwp that i think are cute and she can deal with the overall design.

I think mine will be a combination of both, like I'll probably plan for certain areas but not necessarily every single tile of my island or anything lol. Plus, I would like to keep some areas slightly natural for resource gathering. I might make them more densely packed with trees and stuff for a more forest-y vibe, though.

I would like to keep things natural. In New Leaf, the grass deterioration forced me to plan out my towns. While I like those towns, I'm feeling nostalgic for the way I used to play on the GameCube, not stressing about every little thing. If possible, that's how I'd like to play New Horizons. Just go with the flow. Maybe tweak something here or there but otherwise let the town develop naturally.

i made my exact layout. drew it all on a sticky note actually! very excited to get to work. i have big plans for my perfect town.

I will be going by moment-to-moment decisions. Sure, Iwant to build a relaxation area and other such things, but I am not good with planning such things out when I don't know all the options I have.

I never usually hardcore plan what I'm doing, but I think with terraforming being introduced I'm definitely going to have to plan a little bit more carefully.

There are a few things I know I'd like in my town which won't be available until the later stages, so I'll have plenty of time to think about what I want to do until then!

I think I'm gonna go with what the game gives me, and improve it along the way. So natural with a bit of smoothing out/soft planning.

I am going natural. I am terrible at layouts and decorating. I love decorating and appreciate a lot of the creative things people do with their maps/houses but mine never turn out how I envision anyway.

I'm going 70% planned and 30% natural. I have a layout idea and some images in my head, but it's not head-to-toe every-alleyway every-square.

I did make a crappy layout but honestly I?m just going to pick a map and make it work with what I want.

Like I have plans for my island, but not totally planned out. I want my island to be completely developed. Its own little community.

Both for my island: one side is a little "shop-town" with a natural decoration (all in wood) and other side, i just leave it. (っ˘ω˘ς )

I suspect I’ll do a mix. I’ll start by seeing what ideas jump out at me based on my starting layout, then probably plan roughly where I want houses, shops, etc. I’ll likely adjust based on what I find I like/dislike about my layout, and think it’s likely that I’ll eventually do some terraforming. But I’ll probably work on one area of town at a time, rather than tackling the entire thing at once.

if i get an idea for an area i'll plan it out but i'm going to grow my town slowly and see what all the new objects are first

I'm probably going to go with a natural town with stone accents here and there. Not really sure about anything at the moment though. Once I have the game in my hand and in building I'm sure things will be clearer. X3
