Just finished the game (beat the final boss) and I need to say that this is one of the most refreshing 2D Mario games in a LONG TIME. I like the visuals of this game. The worlds no longer have the same basic theming to them like the New series (like there still are grassland stages but they look different than the grasslands in the New series.) I like playing online as well to see other people in the stage, help them out, and even see people finding the answers to puzzles and showing them to others. The wonder effects are fun and some even change up the game play for a moment
I like this game but it feels easier than the other 2D Mario games. I had so many lives, even in the first area, that I have never seen the game over screen. There are a few stages that gave me some trouble but most of the challenging stages are hidden away in the Special World, and are not required to reach the final boss. It also feels shorter than other games, there are only around 6 or 7 main worlds, but some feel shorter than others.
(like the one where you run on the walls of the stage like it is the ground)

I second this statement. I was playing with my youngest brother and we both have completely different play styles. My brother is a speedrunner, and I am the more "stop and smell the roses" type. Guess who got offscreen the most. It was still fun to play with him but the camera is what caused the most frustration. I have played both NSMBWii and NSMBU and the camera was NOT always this aggressive. The camera in these games zooms out once the players get far away from each other and could be moved by all players (given that the camera is not at max zoom out already). Also players who were in the bubble after they died did not have a time limit to get back into the game, they could just float around until one of the live players touches their bubble. The one massive flaw with this game, however, is the local co-op camera. It is SO unforgiving - the camera doesn’t zoom out at all, so the moment you fall off screen you become a ghost. Camera control is assigned to one specific player, which is not necessarily who’s leading (which is ROUGH in vertical areas - if you have camera control and you fall, you’re taking everyone down with you). I’d say 75% of our deaths were because someone fell out of or got pushed out of the camera view and couldn’t ghost back fast enough. It’s been a long time since we played NSMBU & NSLU together, but I don’t remember the camera being this aggressive.
