Out of all of the fanfics you’ve read, what is your least favorite fanfiction? I can’t be a completely new creation or a set of all fanfics based on one show, but rather an individual piece of work. And let’s be nice and not name any fanfics written on this site. We don’t want to upset the other members on this forum.
My least favorite fanfiction doesn’t even come from fanfiction.net or AO3, but rather another traditional forum I never a member of. It’s a South Park fanfic called Puberty Strike. The reason - there was a plot switch from being about kids facing puberty into a plot vilifying Bebe (one of the kids from South Park Elementary). The fact she was the only kid excluded from a sleepover party (which was unnecessary to the plot) and got into a fight in the end clearly tells that it was written by a Bebe hater. Though to be honest, ever since that South Park episode The List, the fans see her as an evil spoiled brat who is less likable than Cartman. But still, writing a fanfic just to be mean-spirited to a background character or one-off character, especially disguised as an interesting plot, is pretty bad.
it was a five nights at freddy’s fan fiction that i read when i was 9 years old. i don’t remember much except for the part that traumatized me, i don’t think i can explain here for obvious reasons but there were absolutely HORRIFIC details about the pizza that were written.
I was trying to find some good fanfic of The Outsiders for my cousin (specifically Johnny/Ponyboy), and while searching for my old favourites I came across one with some VERY disturbing tags that would get me banned if I were to share them here... it's still being updated too, I checked back last week out of sheer curiosity and the tags have only gotten worse. I haven't even opened the fic because I know I'll be scarred beyond measure if I do.
This one South Park fanfiction I read ages ago on fanfiction.net, I don't remember the name and it's probably lost to time now.
But I remember it being a horror. It was about my all time favorite character, Kyle coming back from the dead in the form of some sort of shapeshifter (???) and getting revenge. He went on a killing spree, like usual movies that have that sort of plot to them and a bit graphic (which is surprising for me to be reading in the first place. Maybe because Kyle's name was mentioned in the synopsis.) I remember it starting out with Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny (not sure with him) and this OC female character that was created by the writer, talking about like life or whatever and Kyle was recently dealing with the death of one of his family members, I guess he's dad.
Anyway, the group starts talking about reincarnating. Then weeks later he ends up dying, but I forgot how though. Many years pass and everyone is like in their 20s now (?) and that's when all the horror starts happening.
The reason why I don't like it, because it involves my favorite character and it made me cry a couple of times. I can't quite remember if it was well written or not though.
I remember this one quite more. From the anime, Hamtaro and it's called 'The Ham Wrath' that you can still read on fanfiction.net to this day. However when I first read it, the creator had it posted on their website. I cannot remember the website's name and most likely also lost to time, especially since flash isn't a thing anymore.
But I remember it having like flash animation for the fanfics that they written on it. This person seem to really like making horror/depressing things with the Powerpuff Girls. But the Hamtaro one caught my eye.
The story is well written in my opinion. The story is also a slasher and mystery.
All the little Hams-Hams being taking out by this mysterious creature that is at their clubhouse in the middle of the night. The deaths are kind of graphic. So this is a warning if you get interested. But I doubt you want to to read about Hamtaro and his friends getting hurt.
Eventually it turns out, Bijou is the mastermind behind all of this and she goes on about how good it felt when she was taking them all out!
Another one of my favorite characters! That's why I'm even putting it here and the fact that the ham-hams were getting hurt.

I've read a couple cringeworthy Pokemon fanfics when I was younger. I'm not going to share what they are because it'd break site rules, but let's just say I think the people who wrote those need another hobby.
Worst as in gross or cringe? Lol. There's one with Atsushi from Bungo Stray Dogs that I actually wasn't able to get through cause it was so gross. I was amazed too cause I've read the crappiest of crap, the disgusting of disgusting.
There was a Suite Life of Zack and Cody one where the author claimed that if you ate pigs feet, you'd lactate. Like what? What made it better was that the author was fighting with people in the comments about how it was true. So funny.
As far as cringe goes, any x readers on wattpad. They're outright terrible. Any fic with the author's bad mary sue OC. Again, on wattpad lol.
Any fanfiction that's literally just one huge paragraph, just a massive wall of text, whether it was intentionally written that way or not, is the worst fanfiction I've ever read (I never even bother to read those in the first place. I just go check out something else)
Also any fanfiction written like a text message....
I think the least enjoyable ones I've read are the OC/you x character, fanfictions. Just because of how cringy, and how the OC is portrayed is always so *ugh* bland, and annoying.
I remember this Mystic Messanger one, it was hilariously bad, esspecially with how the author portrayed you/OC. It was written like your character couldn't do anything for themselves, and I never finished it.
I should also add..some fanfics I read about real people, including one where Shohei Ohtani was singing “I’m Bringing Sexy Back” at a karaoke night. Yes. I’m serious
