Um, so, I want to make more TBT and I have a lot of free time as of right now, so I was wondering, would making a villager cycling thread be a good way to make some extra TBT? I'm not good at drawing and I don't play my New Leaf game anymore and so I can't sell items, so I figured I would use my second copy of New Leaf to cycle out some villagers and sell them for TBT. Would this be a good idea? I'm out of options and I really don't mind posting a lot, but I really would like to buy more user title color changes and collectibles. Advice would appreciated too if anyone has done this. Thanks! :)

you can try it but honestly cycling isn't the best route right now since people with amiibo/amiibo cards just give out villagers for free. if you do go that way villagers would have to be super cheap.

my friend net a lot of tbt a while ago by making a dream town review thread in the train station board if you'd be comfortable with something like that. the animal crossing section of the forums awards the most bells for posting too so if you don't wanna make lengthy posts, just posting a lot in there will get you up eventually.

other than that though, if you could wait for the halloween event to happen (if there is one) you might be able to get some collectibles to sell.

Ah, OK. I didn't even think about the people who have collected all of the Amiibo cards. I guess it would have to be really cheap for me to do this. Thanks for the advice! I'll just keep posting everyday and just work my way up slowly. Maybe once New Horizons comes out later next year and it's been out for awhile, I might start selling some items and services to people. :)

There are a lot of big villager cycling stores at the moment and most of them are free. Nothing in game NL is worth much so it's not the best way.

It wouldn't get you much honestly. Since things are slowing down for New Leaf and amiibo cards makes it pretty accessible to get a lot of the higher valued villagers for free, I wouldn't put the effort in. But I remember the days where you could sell a random villager for TBT ot IGB and make a pretty penny.

It definitely used to be a thing and you could make millions of IGB over one villager that was deemed "popular" by the community.

Is selling amiibo card only items a popular big sell still? They were years ago when I participated in those trading boards. Especially with the Sanrio cards or RV cards since those were harder cards to get compared to the regular ones.

Those selling threads are still quite popular. An example is RedTropicalPeachyFish?s shop hard at work providing items daily :3 Since there aren?t as many users as before playing New Leaf daily a whole shop thread might be slow but you would still get customers, especially from those who got the game late and are still trying to get items. You may have to do some bumps or reply to other people?s [Buying/Wishlist] threads directly.

I never thought of using items from the Amiibo cards. Too bad I don't have any rare ones other than Claude's Amiibo card. Also, thank you to everyone who responded so far. Like I said before, I'll just wait till New Horizons is out and start selling villagers/items then. If it doesn't make me a whole lot of TBT, then even just a little TBT will work for me. All that counts is that I make just enough for things I like and want. :)

Also maybe buying and trading collectibles ! Most users here buy low, sell high.
Also entering giveaways helps so be on the lookout for that :).
