My advice for this is to do a little color switching. It's actually a pretty nice path, but the colors of blue used are really bright. Maybe try some less saturated blue tones. Also, try making the center lighter, and the edges/borders darker Just some ideas

And yes, I think it'd look great in winter!

How about this recolour? I put it next to the original for a comparison.

I was thinking that the original colours were more dark than bright, heh. I think this looks a bit more "icy".
