Would you rather have rude villagers or stick with friendly villagers?

I think they really nailed the personalities in Wild World. From what I remember, you really had to work to be friends with the crankies and snooties, they didn't like you right away. It felt like an achievement when they finally considered you a friend and gave you nicknames. Plus, the crankies really aren't crankies anymore. They are more like Wise Old Folk or something, and whilst that is nice, I would have preferred that for another personality than replacing what made crankies...cranky.

I'd love a mix of both to be honest. I realise it's a bit unreasonable to ask them to write individual dialogue for all of the villagers, but hearing the same thing from them over and over is annoying, almost as annoying as Pheobe gets with me if I talk to her too much in one day :'D
