me: i’m burnt out from art
also me, 5 hours later: teehee Draw :>
xjjdncjfj i’ve come to dump some more art that i’ve made for friends on you all again, as well as a couple drawings that i did just for funsies! after finishing my last doodles, i wasn’t planning on creating any more art for at least a few days with how tired i felt creatively, but there i was not even 6 hours later, doing Things LOL
september - november are rough months for me, and the past week especially has not been super slay. nothing specifically has really happened, my vibes have just been kinda off, and my lingering ear/throat infection symptoms are driving me crazy View attachment 513560 but drawing has honestly been a huge coping mechanism/distraction for me this month; it’s nice to be creating so much after going through most of the year without even so much as opening my art program haha
onto the art!!
this doodle is for my dear friend @King koopa of one of his ocs, amethyst!! i was honestly so happy when i saw that you made a toyhou.se, because i’ve been wanting to make you some art for a while, but you have so many ocs that i didn’t know which one to draw!! i decided to go with the only oc that you’ve added to your toyhou.se thus far— amethyst the lovely gold fox! i did take a bit of creative liberty with his eyes and ears since i was in the mood to draw chibi eyes hehe, and i wanted to practice drawing a “traditional” fox with pointy ears, but i hope you like it!! thank you for always being so lovely
this is for the super sweet @Mr_Keroppi!! i‘ve been wanting to make you some art for a while as well, and i’ve been in a sanrio mood after seeing so much adorable sanrio stuff at hot topic the other day, so this felt like the perfect time to whip something up for you! i of course had to doodle your favourite froggy— i was tempted to draw him in the same style that i did for drift and ribbot, but i couldn’t resist his usual style keroppi is staring happily at an A+ he got on a school assignment, since you are always killing it academically!! you are so, so smart, and such a kind person— thank you for always doing your best to spread happiness around the forums i hope you like your art!
this is one of those doodles where colouring it in really makes a difference LOLView attachment 513565
i probably won’t be picking a copy of princess peach: showtime! up (despite how cute it looks), but i was still inspired to attempt to draw patisserie peach after watching thursday’s nintendo direct! all of peach’s different costumes and roles that were shown were so cute—she’s in her barbie era and i’m here for it!! i went with a combination of lineless + line art for this piece. peach’s hairstyle was a pain to try and get right, and i was nervous about her dress since gingnam patterns have never been my strong suit, but overall i’m kinda happy with how this turned out!
and finally, a little sketch that i did last night while watching barbie for the 100th time. i did colour it in, but i actually think i prefer the sketch/outline version more, even though the coloured in version is a little neater
i don’t add my watermark until after the drawing is finished, and i usually don’t do it in my sketch layer, hence why the coloured in version has my watermark and the sketch doesn’t lolView attachment 513637
that’s all for now! thanks for looking
aaaaaah i’m so happy you all like your art thank you so much!! and brandy is best boy, looking adorable as always

I'm so glad you like Amethyst! I've been wanting a toyhouse account for a long time, and I'm happy that I now have one! (Thanks to Bug gifting me an invite code to join!) I think Amethyst looks great in your style, and I do plan on adding the rest of my ocs to my toyhouse as well! (Which might take several hours because I have a lot lol)
this oshawott watched barbie and is now having an existential crisis
i was playing around with brushes and animation before i went to bed last night, and this is the result! it’s nothing spectacular, but it honestly could be worse for my first “animation”
it didn’t turn out exactly the way i wanted it to, and i will definitely, probably, maybe be redoing it in the future, but i think it’s lowkey kinda cute! tell me why oshawott lives rent free in my mind when i don’t even play pokémon
AWHHHH i’m so happy you like it!!!!! you’re always doing nice things for other people, including me, i just wanted to do a little something for you for a change keep being you, keroppi

thank you so much!! i know i already told you on discord hehe, but i’m so happy you like your art! i’m glad that you were able to get a toyhou.se— i’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it to see the rest of your ocs!!
whipped this up after taking an edible last night, and it might genuinely be my most favourite thing that i’ve created in my almost 22 years of life! i also gave animation another go since it’s honestly really fun, and i think this one turned out a bit better!
i got pretty burnt out from art after creating the piece that i shared in the post above, so i mostly just have my entries from tbt’s haunted carnival to shareat this time. i also struggled with creating anything after how much i loved and was proud of the artwork above. whenever i do something that i actually like and am proud of, i have a tendency to set high expectations for myself to create something that i like just as much, if not more, the next time. and instead of that being something that motivates me, it actually does the opposite and stresses me out, as it’s not easy for me to design something that i like. i’m honestly my own worst critic.
but i’m mostly proud of the new artworks that i have to share! there are of course things that i would change about all of them if i were to do them over, but i’m overall content with them. anyways, onto the art!
the first and only non-haunted carnival artwork that i have to share is the birthday art i made for my best friend in september! it’s full of his favourite things and references to him. this is the first drawing i’ve ever done for him, so i was extremely nervous and critical of myself while making this, but he thankfully loved it! he said it’s one of the cutest things anyone has ever done for him, which made me so happy.
i was bummed that i didn’t finish this in time to give it to him right at midnight on his birthday, but overall i think i did okay considering how nervous i was, LOL. creating scenes has never been easy for me as i always get too overwhelmed by all of the different design possibilities, so i admittedly kept this pretty simple. i struggled the most with the curtains and designing the floor, but i think they turned out as well as they could for my skill level! as for all of the little details and references, i’ll list those below!
𐦍 the black and orange cats on the wall represent his two cats, sombra (black) and lilith (orange). 𐦍 the heart balloons are yellow, white, purple and black to represent the non-binary flag, which is what he identifies as! 𐦍 the worm on a string represents the giant worm on a string that he owns, same colour and all. 𐦍 punchy is his favourite animal crossing villager, and he had recently gotten rudy on his island, which he was very excited about! 𐦍 he loves opossums. 𐦍 the “this is a kyle free zone” sign is a reference to someone he used to work with, and who i made a meme for, LOL. no offence to any kyles!
now for my haunted carnival artworks! my “vandal visions” entry was the first one that i created, and i’m pretty happy with how it turned out! aside from wanting it to look like the van was parked in front of a carnival tent (inspired by the cryptic canopy backdrop), i had no plans for this entry or how i wanted it to look. i just kind of experimented and went with the flow as i worked on it, and this was the result!
i love the colour palette and idea that i ended up with, but if i were to change anything, i think i would add more details to the grass and the van. maybe some flowers on the grass, and some little graffiti-like designs on the van. idk, but i’m content with it as is! i also decided to create an animated version for funsies.
next is my “creature feature” entry! my “sarcastic clock” prompt honestly didn’t inspire me much, so this one was mostly for participation, haha. my first thought when i saw my prompt was cogsworth from beauty and the beast, so i decided to create a creature that is the exact opposite of him; timelina the clock! just as sarcastic (of course), but as carefree, irresponsible, and devious as clocks can be.
timelina has never abided by the 24-hour clock. as a clock herself, she feels that time is a variable concept, so she follows one simple rule when it comes to the measurement of time; she does what she wants whenever she wants. she misses a deadline? she doesn’t complete her to-do list on time? no biggie, she can simply move her time back. after all, who’s going to argue with a clock about what time it is?
and if someone tries, they can expect the only response they get to be a sarcastic one. timelina holds time in her hands literally, and she knows it.
and lastly, my “forbidden fortunes” entry! it’s pretty simple, but it’s still the entry that i’m most proud of; i honestly really like how it turned out! my biggest struggle with this one was writing the description for it, so if i were to redo anything, it would definitely be that. i would also add some more details to this one as well.
the universe is always watching and checking your energy, evaluating what you need, and only those who need this card are able to pull it.
the altruist is constantly putting their own wants and needs to the side to make sure everyone around them is happy and taken care of. this card is acknowledgement from the universe for making it a kinder place, but also a reminder to not neglect yourself for the wellbeing of others. you can’t help others grow if you’re wilting.
upright: good karma, friendships, positive impacts, generosity. reversed: taken advantage of, imbalanced relationships, self-neglect, mental exhaustion.
tangy’s fruit trees have all been exhausted, shaken of all the fruit it can give and dead. all she has left is one singular orange, and while she of course would like to have it for herself as a treat and reward for her efforts, she knows her friend wants it as well. so, it’s a no-brainer who gets it.
the orange can also symbolize tangy giving a part of herself away in order to make someone else happy. the dead fruit trees can symbolize what happens when one gives too much.
i had a bunch of ideas for my “forbidden fortunes” entry, so maybe i’ll try to bring the others to life one day! i don’t have enough ideas for a whole set (especially since “the altruist” is the 69th card ), but a small set with a bunch of cards missing would be fun!
anyways, that’s all for now! i’m very creatively burnt out, so this’ll probably be my last post in here for a while. but who knows! nevertheless, thank you for looking!
aaaa thank you so much!! that means a lot. ;w; i mainly use sketchbook as it’s simple enough for me to use without getting overwhelmed, but i‘ve been thinking about trying out procreate recently! i just wanted to get my art bearings first before trying out a more advanced program.
I've already commented in here but I'm taking a look at your more recent art and I agree that it's so aesthetically pleasing to look at. It's honestly amazing how neat it looks without black outlines on the characters/thingies, lol. I love it, and look forward to seeing more art from you!

not me rushing over here bc I looked at your beautiful art and forgot to LOVE THE POST SDFSDJFKSDFG
but yeah I always get so happy to see a new post in this thread hehe, love seeing my friends have confidence in their own art and abilities, it's certainly a very useful and wonderful trait to have

thank you so much omg, that means the world to me!! i feel like i have a long ways to go before i’m entirely confident in my art, but i occasionally draw things that i’m actually proud of, so… good enough for me, haha.

Dunnnnnnnnn Thank you so much!! I actually thought about you while I was making the Punchy and Rudy art, since I know Punchy is your favourite villager.

Another TBT event is quickly coming to an end, which means it’s time for another art dump! And by “art dump”, I mean I have exactly 2 pieces of art to share, but I’ll probably talk about them enough that this can still be classified as a dump xnsjcndjch
My creative burnout hasn’t gone away much since my last post in here, so I only have my 2 Stole-iday artworks to share right now. I was thinking about participating in my first Secret Santa Art Exchange this year since it’s always seemed so fun, and I enjoy looking through the art that everyone receives each year, but with how I was feeling at the end of November/most of December, I decided it probably wouldn’t be the best idea. I’m also not confident enough in my art skills yet to gift someone my art in that kind of situation; I know it’s the thought and effort that counts, but I’d be so scared of disappointing my recipient. Maybe next time!
With all that being said, I’m actually pretty pleased with how my Stole-iday art turned out! The first piece that I worked on was my White Elephant Creations entry, and it’s definitely the one I’m most proud of! I’m really grateful that I finally had a prompt for this kind of event that actually inspired me, even though the prompt I ended up with wasn’t the prompt I was hoping for. Silly me for not reading properly and thinking that the prompt swapping period ended on the 20th. I like the idea I came up with for it, though!
Rudolph has a busy few days ahead of him, so he invited Clarice to go on a walk with him through Gingerbread Forest to unwind. Not even halfway through their walk, they stumbled upon an ornament-shaped bottle lying in the snow, filled with some sort of sparkling liquid. Curiosity overtook his usual better judgment, and ignoring Clarice’s protests, Rudolph drank the potion. After all, nothing dangerous could be in the North Pole… right?
Mere seconds after Rudolph guzzled the liquid, he began to shake, a ball of light and sparkles surrounding him before Clarice could even react. It lasted for only a few seconds before fading as quickly as it emerged, and in its wake, stood a brown and white striped candy cane with… antlers and a glowing red nose?
Oh no!
Santa’s not going to be happy about this…
My first thought when I saw “Red-nosed Candy Cane” was of course Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, and I quickly came up with the idea to turn him into a candy cane! I wanted to get more creative than just drawing a candy cane with antlers and a glowing red nose though, so I decided to draw a little scene for my prompt! I kept it pretty simple since I didn’t have much creative energy this event, but overall I’m happy with how it turned out! I like the colours I used, especially for the sky, and I might be a little biased lol, but I think the idea is actually kinda cute as well! I wish I had the art skills to make it look better and more professional, but I think it’s nice for where my skills and energy are at right now! There are a few things I’d change about this piece if I were to do it over, but overall I’m content!
Lastly is my All A Board entry! I was admittedly a little overwhelmed when I first saw All A Board since the thought of having to come up with an idea, design tiles, a board, any game pieces etc just felt like a lot for me, but I was determined to come up with something that I could at least stand to look at. I came up with the idea for Pete’s Delivery Dash pretty quickly, and while it would probably be a pretty boring board game if it actually existed, I like the design and premise I came up with for it!
It’s Toy Day morning, and Pete has 10 parcels that he needs to deliver to the town’s residents before they start waking up! The sun is rising and time is quickly running out; the residents will be disappointed if they wake up to discover that their parcels didn’t arrive in time for Toy Day!
Can you help Pete deliver all 10 parcels on time?
1-2 players. Includes 2 player tokens, x20 coloured present pieces, x20 monochrome present pieces, and a dice (that I forgot to draw ).
Instructions:Each player begins with x10 coloured present pieces. Roll the dice each turn, and move your player token forward the amount of spaces required. The player with the least amount of coloured presents left at the end wins!
Spacemeanings:Some spaces are just regular numbered tiles, but some spaces are special.
- One of your parcels has been damaged/lost! Replace one of your coloured present pieces with a monochrome one.
- One of your parcels has mysteriously been fixed/recovered! Perhaps it’s Toy Day magic at work? Replace one of your monochrome present pieces with a coloured one. Ignore if you don’t have any monochrome present pieces.
- You have successfully delivered a parcel to a resident! Good job! Set one of your coloured present pieces to the side.
- Today is your lucky day! All of your previously damaged/lost parcels have been fixed/recovered, and any that you were unable to deliver have been delivered for you! … By who? Well, that’s a secret.
I like the amount of thought that I put into the concept. I’m not mad at how the board and tile designs turned out, although I wish I had had the energy to add more details and make everything look nicer. I’m also a bit annoyed that I forgot to draw a dice, but oh well. I could’ve gone back to draw one before posting in the event thread or here, since I did notice right before submitting, but it was Christmas and I honestly didn’t want to spend any more time on it LOL. It’s not my best work, but I’m content with it overall!
That’s all for now! Sorry for once again talking ya’lls ears off, but I appreciate anyone who took the time to read. Until next time!
Long time no post in here!! … Again. I haven’t been very busy art-wise so far this year. I’ve been sitting on my art from the LNY and Farewell to New Leaf events from earlier this year, but I haven’t been in a rush to post them since I… don’t really like them LOL. I did when I first made them, or at least I liked my New Leaf memory book, but they were experiments more than anything and weren’t my best work.
BUT I still worked hard on them, so without further ado!
My LNY dragon, line-art by the talented @/dizzy bone! This guy is the product of me experimenting with a new program, new brushes and colours! And by experimenting, I mean I discovered the new program has a glitter brush and I may have gone a little bit overboard. Looking at my dragon now, I do like the colours I went with for the dragon and the flowers, but I’m not fond of the basket, fan and branch colours, the backdrop, or how glitter crazy I went. If I were to redo this one, I would definitely go with less glitter, some different colours, more shine, and a different backdrop! I would also try to be less messy, though it’s me, so…
Next is my New Leaf memory book for my old town, Clarity! I was remembering as much as I was reminiscing while making this as it’s been almost 7 years since I last played New Leaf, and about 6 years since I sold all 3 of my copies and my 2DS. I tried putting myself in the shoes of my 11-15-year-old selves when working on this to incorporate my old interests and aesthetics, which is harder than you’d think for someone who has practically no memory, but I did my best! I tried to use lots of pastels since younger me loved pastel colours (current me still loves them as well ), and I wanted my memory book to be purple since the binder I wrote all of my dreamie lists and town plans in was purple! I’ll mention the significance of everything I included in my memory book in a spoiler below! Copied from my entry post since I am lazy!
The Polaroids:
Beau’s polaroid - Beau was my absolute favourite villager in New Leaf, even before I had the game. Even before it had released in NA yet! I adored him from the moment I saw him on the list of villagers in New Leaf, before I even knew his English name. He ended up randomly moving into Clarity all on his own, which is what the polaroid references! And the rest was history. <3 He may not be my #1 favourite villager anymore, but he’s still my bestest bud and my dearest (pun intended) friend. I had him in New Leaf, I have him in New Horizons, and I will have him in every future AC game. I honestly considered dedicating this scrapbook just to him because of how important he was to 11-15-year-old me. My love letter to New Leaf, and my proper goodbye to Clarity, wouldn’t be complete without him.
Hazel’s polaroid - Hazel was one of my “+ 50 others” dreamies, and I eventually ended up getting her! Only to have her ask to leave within a week or two of moving in. She ended up asking to move 2-3 more times, frequently, before I got the hint and let her go. I loved Hazel, but Hazel did not love me or Clarity LOL
Hannah’s polaroid - Club Tortimer was my social anxiety’s biggest OPP during my New Leaf days. I worked my butt off to earn the medals for it, paid for it, and then refused to actually use it for months. I was too scared LOL. I did eventually gather up the courage, and I met Hannah on one of the international islands. I don’t remember what her character looked like, but I remember English wasn’t her native language, so we didn’t talk much. But we did go on a bunch of tours together, and it was honestly a lot of fun! She eventually had to leave, but before she did, she bought me the ukulele from the gift shop, and gifted it to me before going on her way. :’) I may have forgotten what Hannah looked like, and we may not have understood each other well, but I’ve never forgotten her kindness or the fun I had playing with her. It’s still one of my fondest gaming memories, and I hope wherever Hannah is these days, that she’s doing well.
Zeva’s polaroid - I’ve talked about my late kitty, Zeva, quite a bit on here. Since her passing, I’ve tried to include her in every artwork I’ve created if I can, as a small way to pay tribute to her and keep her memory alive. I want her to be a part of everything I do and accomplish, always. Zeva was with me my entire time playing New Leaf, and for my first year and a half of New Horizons, so I of course had to include her in this.
Everything else:
Snow Bunny - the Snow Bunny was one of my favourite items in New Leaf, and one of my favourite collectibles on here, so I felt it was only right to include it! I miss decorating with her every day
Dreamies list - Making (and remaking) my dreamies list was one of the biggest ways I kept myself occupied in the months leading up to New Leaf’s NA release. I probably made, scrapped and remade my dreamies list 10+ times, each one different.
Lolly and Sprinkle stickers - Lolly was another one of my random move-ins, and also one of my dearest friends! She plopped her house right next to mine, so she was often the first thing I saw when I loaded up my game each day. Sprinkle was one of Clarity’s first villagers, and was there when Clarity was first created! She also happens to be one of my absolute favourite villagers, and even came with me to New Horizons!
Things that are ILLEGAL in Clarity - For some reason, I used to absolutely hate Pietro. I don’t even know why. I don’t know if my mom’s dislike of clowns temporarily rubbed off on me or what, but my disdain for him was so strong that I swore to reset my town immediately if he never moved in. He never did, so I don’t know if I would have actually reset or not LOL, but I’m fond of him now!! Al….. not so much. He randomly moved in and squashed some of my hybrids in my first New Leaf town, but my grudge was so great that he got himself banned from Clarity, too.
Perfect Pear - Looking back at some of my old screenshots, I discovered that Clarity’s native fruit was pears! Makes having it as my fruit on here during the Farewell to New Leaf event even more special.
Pity Party - I discovered Melanie Martinez and her music about a year or 2 into playing New Leaf, and she’s still one of my favourite artists to this day. I’m even seeing her live for the first time this June! I chose to include “Pity Party” because I had a room inspired by the music video for it in my house.
I’d never made a scrapbook or memory book before, either digitally or physically, so I was looking up lots of inspo to try and get an idea of the layout I wanted for my memory book and what I wanted/could include in it. I have a problem with my artworks where they all either look too full or too empty, because I never know the right balance of details to include, and my memory book to me looks too empty. The empty spaces and the spacing between everything bothers me, though I know if I had tried to fill those spaces, I would probably be complaining right now that it looks too full. There’s just no pleasing me LOL
I almost forgot about this one, but my snow bunny balloon!! I just used the sky scenery as the backdrop since this was a quick mockup. I yearn for a snow bunny balloon collectible one day.. snow bunnies my beloved.
And now onto art I like a little bit more… my TBTWC 2024 art!!
Team cheer #1! I originally drew a pink Yoshi version to rally for my team colour suggestion Tropical Yoshi Pink in case it went to poll, BUT there was no poll, but I didn’t want my Yoshi to go to waste so I redrew a blue version, and added a background and text! I very much so CANNOT draw hands, not even Yoshi hands, but this turned out much better than I was expecting. I also like how the ridges kind of make this look like a stamp. :>
My (second) Squirtle Squad Discord emote suggestion: axolotl Squirtle! Very cute little guy, though he looks more like a spider than an axolotl lowkey.
My Squirtle Squad flag design! I mostly made this for the points since I was hoping lieryl’s flag would win (which it did!), but I think this turned out pretty cute! I thought about including more than 4 Squirtles, but… lazy…. so I only included TBTWC winner Squirtle (aka us!!! manifestation is real!!!), cool guy Squirtle, crescent moon wand-haver Squirtle (manifestation is real? ) and imposter Squirtle!! Among Us is my new personality fr
Team cheer #2!! I referenced this Squirtle art for the pose, and I ended up copying it a little too closely for comfort and my liking. I would definitely like to redraw this without the reference eventually for my own peace, just so it feels a little more.. completely Mine.
A little unconventional, but for my team cheer #3, I submitted the burning Squirtle dress I designed for my team rep submission! I initially wasn’t planning on submitting my dress as a team cheer, but I got confirmation from my team leaders that it should be okay (and it was!), so I figured I’d lessen my creative workload a bit. I got the idea for this from the lovely deana, and since a burning Squirtle dress didn’t already exist, I took it upon myself to make one! It’s not great, but it definitely turned out better than I thought it would! I also made a blue version for funsies!
And finally, MOO MOOS for team cheer #4!! Moo Moo Meadows haters be damned, I love it and moo moos. If you’re a moo moo hater, that sounds like a you problem
That’s all for now! I will hopefully be back soon with art I’ve promised my friends, but if not I.. will see you all when I see you! :’)
I didn't get the chance to see most of those during the event!! They're all so cute?? I especially love you nl memory book, and I love the squirtle version of your elmo dress
